Epidemic Typhus

according to Wikipedia:
For example, typhus killed hundreds of thousands of prisoners in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. The deteriorating quality of hygiene in camps such as Theresienstadt and Bergen-Belsen created conditions where diseases such as typhus flourished.
HUNDREDS of thousands? Wow, I had no idea.

Doesn't it make sense, with level of disease and death, that there would be large "corpse cellars" and crematoria for the bodies, at Auschwitz? Also, since typhus was spread by lice, that Zyclon B would be used for delousing clothes? One could certainly imagine as well, that an attempt to control the typhus could be perverted at some point, to gas people and kill them.
