Obama's Drones: from Truth to Snark

The first paragraph is good, however each subsequent paragraph becomes more and more detached from meaningful, coherent criticism:
With all the attacks on his leadership from the professional left, it’s all too easy to forget that Barack Obama is by far the most liberal president in American history. From permitting gays to serve openly in the military to saying they should even be allowed to get married, the president has deftly tied his most progressive policies to America’s most reactionary institutions, upholding the long liberal tradition of making the status quo more sustainable, its excesses more subtle. But to the outraged left, helping Americans isn’t enough. He’s supposed to concern himself with the lives of foreigners, too.

As progressive pundit Joy Reid wryly observes, the effeminate anti-Obama purists are at such pains to attack this president that they’re forced to spend more time condemning what goes on outside America than the reforms he’s talked about instituting within it. Indeed, Reid notes they’re the sort that, at a loss to explain record corporate profits — bye bye, Bush recession — turn to arguing “the government’s use of drones and waging of covert wars and the drug war are the most pressing problems facing the planet.”

If you can stomach the toxicity, just consider the implicit Birtherism: that President Obama should be more concerned about non-Americans than registered American voters, as if he’s not even American himself. And consider the classism and misogyny. Amid a GOP-led war on women, the privileged far left would have us believe protecting the life of some impoverished stay-at-home Buzkashi mom is as vital as safeguarding a successful, independent American woman’s access to subsidized birth control — that a Madeleine Albright or Hillary Rodham Clinton are no more important than some willfully oppressed third-worlder in a burka.
... and it goes on and on... still worth a read-- though the most important bit is in the first paragraph: Obama is very liberal in some ways, and thus makes some truly heinous policies acceptable to the left and thus to all of Americans, since the right doesn't give a shit about killing foreigners.

A more serious analysis of the inhumanity of Obama's drone was is here.

The #1 Reason Why Man-Made Global Warming Is Real

Because the idea that man-made global warming is a hoax is a right-wing conspiracy theory, prominently promoted by the GOP... AND THEIR CONSPIRACY THEORIES ARE ALWAYS FUCKING IDIOTIC AND BOGUS. ALWAYS.

Reason #2-- apart from right-wing cranks, why should we believe religious nuts and oil and gas companies that there is nothing to worry about from too much CO2?

Reason #3-- science clearly shows that both CO2 is increasing and that CO2 is a heat-trapping gas In any case-- and this is a point I have made before-- even if there is a small chance of catastrophic GW being real, shouldn't we DO SOMETHING about it?

For fuck's sake, we spend hundreds of billions of dollars on the military and homeland security to fight some miniscule terrorism threat (particularly taking into consideration the threat that real terrorists pose to the US).

Why is it so hard to spend significant money to combat an even more catastrophic threat? Of course, the elites may really actually want GW to kill off most of humanity, or use the ecological disruptions induced by GW, to do that. In which case, all the more reason for 99% of the people to act.

Turkish Court Convicts 330 From Military in Coup Case

By SEBNEM ARSU
ISTANBUL — A Turkish court convicted 330 military officers, including three former top commanders, and sentenced them to prison terms of as long as 20 years on Friday after a trial in which they were accused of a wide-ranging plot to overthrow the government nearly a decade ago. Thirty-four were acquitted.
...

The convictions and sentences, reported by the Turkish news media, signaled completion of the first trial in a civilian court of defendants in a coup plot known as Sledgehammer, said to have been masterminded as part of a 2003 military exercise. The prosecution of the case was widely regarded as a test of the democratically elected government’s power over the formerly dominant Turkish military, which has been responsible for four coups since 1960.

Prosecutors have said the Sledgehammer coup plotters had conspired in a master plan to bomb mosques and set off a military conflict with Greece in an effort to stir unrest and overthrow the government of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whose Justice and Development Party has roots in an Islamist movement. The military has historically regarded itself as the guardian of the secular political system in Turkey, which has a Muslim majority.

Emphasis added. Of course, that kind of false-flag action could NEVER happen here....

Sometimes I Feel Like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Is Not a Very Nice Person

Antiwar.com columnist Grant Smith:
On June 27, 2012, the FBI partially declassified and released seven additional pages [.pdf] from a 1985–2002 investigation into how a network of front companies connected to the Israeli Ministry of Defense illegally smuggled nuclear triggers out of the U.S.* The newly released FBI files detail how Richard Kelly Smyth — who was convicted of running a U.S. front company — met with Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel during the smuggling operation. At that time, Netanyahu worked at the Israeli node of the smuggling network, Heli Trading Company. Netanyahu, who currently serves as Israel’s prime minister, recently issued a gag order that the smuggling network’s unindicted ringleader refrain from discussing “Project Pinto.”

As revealed in previously released FBI files and the tell-all book Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon Arnon Milchan, the Hollywood producer was recruited into Israel’s economic espionage division (LAKAM) in his 20s and learned how to establish front companies and secret bank accounts for smuggling operations. Arnon Milchan encouraged Smyth, a California engineer, to incorporate MILCO in 1972 and serve as a front for the Israel-based Heli Trading’s (also known as Milchan Limited) acquisitions of sensitive military technologies on behalf of the Ministry of Defense. Smyth fled the U.S. after being indicted for violating the Arms Export Control Act in the mid-1980s. In July 2001, Smyth was arrested in Spain by Interpol and returned to the U.S., and in November, he was convicted of exporting 800 nuclear triggers (called krytrons).
Of course there was also the time when Netanyahu said how 9/11 was good for Israel...

And the time he put collective punishment on millions of Palestinians for a few radicals....

And the time that he kept trying to egg on a war with Iran... oh wait, he still is.

He's an evil psychopath who needs to be in prison.

George Carlin on Conservation and Saving the Planet

This was one of the most annoying George Carlin bits I've ever seen:

It's just so wrong headed-- not so much about the planet being more powerful than humans, but the idea that humans can't totally fuck up the ecology of this planet and destroy most life if given the chance.  And what is so funny about trying to save species that we are killing off as we take over the planet?  I really think he was way off base here, and it caters too much to USA-fuck-yeah conservative idiocy that we can just do whatever we like to the planet and it doesn't matter because humans are going to die off and be replaced by something else and the planet will "heal itself".

Personally, I think humans will be around for a long long time, but we do have to get our shit together and NOT destroy the ecosystem.

The idea that the whole purpose of humans is to create plastic for the planet is funny, though.

War Is the #1 Evil In the World

Every war, every military struggle for power, allows for every possible horrible evil to be manifested by man on his fellow man. War also allows a justification and a rationalization for this evil, that the victor can either prosecute against the loser or ignore by the winner. War warps the mind of the soldier, desensitizes them to killing and suffering, allows extreme pyschopathy to flourish.  War causes endless horrible suffering to everything in its way.

Why do we have war then?

Because of fucking evil psychopaths who promote war-- either because they are pure evil beings, or because they are psychopaths who care more about money than killing people or because they are numb and ignorant to the suffering they cause.  Warmongerers are the worst people imaginable.  Warmongerers are the evil fucks who did 9/11 and who killed JFK.

Anyone who ever promotes war is a psychopath who deserves to be locked in a mental institution.

All national leaders are psychopaths in some form or another-- the USA is no different and in many ways worse.

Unfortunately, such psychopathy in our leaders typically goes unheeded by the common man, who is easily manipulated by fear or appeals to religion or bigotry.

We need to stop war as a species.

Please do whatever you can to stop war, whenever you can, wherever you can, however you can.

In a Sane World, the Presidential Campaign Would Be Discussing Afghanistan

While it is great fun and all to mock Willard Romney, the one war in which we are engaged formally has started to go very badly, and it's more than past time to admit that we've done all we can in Afghanistan and bring every American soldier in the theater home. Today.

In a sensible world, this would be a major campaign issue. The president has risked an awful lot of his prestige on what essentially was a "surge" strategy in Afghanistan, and that seems now seriously to be coming apart. His opponent could make an issue of this, if he had not surrounded himself on the foreign-policy front with every unemployed dingbat who was sitting around playing Risk in the neocon hiring hall. I suppose Romney could say the current outbreak of violence is due to the president's having set a date for a (now largely speculative) U.S. withdrawal, but that's a hard case to make while your crack foreign-affairs staff is drooling from every molar for an another war, this one with Iran. Let's stay in Afghanistan and blow Tehran to rubble! That'll work.

In any case, and domestic politics far to the side, there doesn't seem to be a point to any of it anymore. Before even the latest insurgent attack based on the anti-Islam video killed 14 this morning, Taliban forces attacked a heavily defended U.S. base and got close enough to film video of how close they came to overrunning the place. NATO sent in an airstrike and managed to kill some women and children who were gathering firewood. We are supposed to be training the Afghan police and military, and then Americans or British soldiers go out on patrol with the people they're supposed to be training, and those people kill them. There's even a name for it now — blue-on-green killing, and there have been 51 of them this year alone. Unsurprisingly, this results in the cancellation of the joint patrols, and the entire raison d'etre for our being there at all evaporates on the spot. And said cancellation leads to this ominous quote from an American military source:
"We're to the point now where we can't trust these people," a senior military official said.
However justified you may be in saying this, and the American military is pretty damned well justified, given the events of the past few months, once you have senior military men talking about your putative allies as "these people" whom you "can't trust," that's pretty much the ballgame right there. If we are not very careful, that quote can be the first step down a very dark road that can lead, at best, to a de facto occupation for as long as we are there, or, at worst, to My Lai.

You can also argue that we're also there to "stabilize the region," but that assumes a) that the region is ever stable or, b) that it necessarily wants to be or even knows what "stable" means. Yeah, good luck with that.
We need to get out of Afghanistan NOW.

More News

Free speech takes another hit:
Last month, the California State Assembly passed a resolution urging state educational institutions to more aggressively crack down on criticism of the State of Israel on campuses, which the resolution defines as “anti-Semitism.” The anti-democratic resolution is the latest step in the broader campaign to stifle and suppress dissent on California’s increasingly volatile campuses.
Trustworthy! --
Boy Scouts shielded child molesters: LOS ANGELES - Over two decades, the Boy Scouts of America failed to report hundreds of alleged child molesters to police and often hid the allegations from parents and the public - including cases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. A Los Angeles Times review of 1,600 confidential files dating from 1970 to 1991 has found that Scouting officials frequently urged admitted offenders to quietly resign - and helped many cover their tracks.
Right-wing radical anti-Islamist Pam Geller helped fund anti-Muhammed movie, that helped spark recent riots.

Mitt Romney shows his disgusting true colors:
There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.
-- completely ignoring the extreme poverty people are due to the scams set-up by the elites

Just as sickening, if not more, are Obama's lies about what 9/11 did to America:
“As painful as this day is – and always will be – it leaves us with a lesson, that no single event can ever destroy who we are, no act of terrorism can ever change what we stand for,” Obama said at the US military headquarters. “Instead we recommit ourselves to the values that we believe in,” Obama said, adding that because of the sacrifice on September 11, 2001, Americans had come together and “dealt a crippling blow to the organisation that brought evil to our shores.”

In reality, the 9/11 attacks triggered an onslaught of government actions that utterly betrayed “what we stand for” and “the values we believe in,” if the President was referring to notions like limited government, freedom, individual rights, tolerance of dissent. From discretionary wars of immense costs and atrocities to rolling back the Bill of Rights through surveillance, torture, and selective uses of habeas corpus – the broad sweep of state action in response to the attacks did represent a stark abrogation of vaunted American “values.”

Pathetic

I used to respect Anonymous Physicist for his seemingly comprehensive conspiracy knowledge. But now I see he has just turned into some sort of sad, deluded crank. This post a couple of days ago about the ludicrous JFK limo flag issue is just retarded-- and the "exchange" of comments is almost certainly fake, orchestrated or someone's idea of a joke.

Even worse, today I see that A.P. is essentially calling for the extinction of humanity, because of all the suffering in the world at the hands of his "alien ultimate PTB". I'm sorry, but that's just too fucked up for words. Clearly there has been huge suffering in the world, and it continues... BUT YOU DON'T FUCKING GIVE UP ON HUMANITY AND SUGGEST WE'D BE BETTER OFF IF WE WERE JUST ALL SLAUGHTERED. These are the thoughts of a very sick person. AP frequently says how physicially sick he is, but sadly, I think he just doesn't understand what this illness has done to his psyche.

The Philippine-American War-- Concentration Camps, Genocide and Torture

A bit of forgotten horror of America's past:

A reconcentrado (concentration) camp for civilians at Tanauan, Batangas Province. General Bell insisted that he built these camps to "protect friendly natives from the insurgents, assure them an adequate food supply" while teaching them "proper sanitary standards." The commandant of one of the camps referred to them as the "suburbs of Hell."

Starvation and disease took the lives of thousands. Between January and April of 1902, there were 8,350 deaths out of 298,000. Some camps lost as many as 20% of the population. There was one camp that was two miles by one mile (3.2 by 1.6 km) in area. It was "home" to some 8,000 Filipinos. Men were rounded up for questioning, tortured and summarily executed.

...
A correspondent to the Philadelphia Ledger wrote, "Our soldiers...have taken prisoner people who held up their hands and peacefully surrendered, and an hour later, without an atom of evidence to show that they were even insurrectos, stood them on a bridge and shot them down one by one, to drop into the water below and float down as an example to those who found their bullet riddled corpses."

Reverend W. H. Walker received a letter from his son and showed it to the Boston Journal, which reported about it on May 5, 1902. The letter described how 1,300 prisoners were executed over a few weeks. A Filipino priest heard their confessions for several days and then he was hanged in front of them. Twenty prisoners at a time were made to dig their mass graves and then were shot. The young Walker wrote, “To keep them prisoners would necessitate the placing of the soldiers on short rations if not starving them. There was nothing to do but kill them.”...

Bell said, "It is an inevitable consequence of war that the innocent must generally suffer with the guilty". He reasoned that since all natives were treacherous, it was impossible to recognize "the actively bad from only the passively so."

Some estimates of civilian deaths on Luzon are as high as 100,000. Many of Malvar's officers and men gave up and collaborated with the Americans. Malvar realized that continuing the war would harm the people more.
...
President Roosevelt privately assured a friend the water cure was "an old Filipino method of mild torture" and claimed when Americans administered it "nobody was seriously damaged."

The "treatment" consisted of spread-eagling a prisoner on his back, forcing his mouth open with a bamboo stick and pouring gallons of water down his throat. Helpless, the prisoner was pumped with water until his stomach was near the bursting point. Then he was questioned. If he refused to answer, an American soldier stood or kneeled on his belly, forcing the water out. One report by a U.S. soldier told how "a good heavy man" jumped on a prisoner’s belly "sending a gush of water from his mouth into the air as high as six feet."

This cure was repeated until the prisoner talked or died. Roughly half the Filipinos given the cure did not survive. How many Filipinos were killed by torture is not known, but the extent of the practice is documented by a letter sent home by a soldier who bragged of inflicting the water cure on 160 Filipinos, 134 of whom died. A Harvard-educated officer, 1st Lt. Grover Flint, testified before the US Senate on the routine torture of Filipino combatants and civilians. He described the “water cure” as standard US Army torture.
Oddly, wikipedia notes casualties from the war as "an estimated 34,000–1,000,000 casualties"-- quite a large spread. Though curiously in the sidebar they list "Filipino civilian dead: ~200,000 to 1,500,000".

Obviously, a huge number of deaths, and a huge but almost completely forgotten evil by the American Empire.

Review of a recent book on the war:
What is striking about “Honor in the Dust,” Gregg Jones’s fascinating new book about the Philippine-American War, is not how much war has changed in more than a century, but how little. On nearly every page, there is a scene that feels as if it could have taken place during the Bush and Obama administrations rather than those of McKinley and Roosevelt. American troops are greeted on foreign soil as saviors and then quickly despised as occupiers. The United States triumphantly declares a victorious end to the war, even as bitter fighting continues. Allegations of torture fill the newspapers, horrifying and transfixing the country.

Nowhere will this book resonate more profoundly with modern readers, however, than in the opening episode, which is as difficult to read as it is jarringly familiar. Jones describes the use of an interrogation technique whose name alone instantly brings to mind a recent, highly contentious tactic. To force information from a Filipino mayor believed to have been covertly helping insurgents, American soldiers resort to what they call the “water cure.” After tying the mayor’s hands behind his back and forcing him to lie beneath a large water tank, they pry his mouth open, hold it in place with a stick and then turn on the spigot. When his stomach is full to bursting, the soldiers begin pounding on it with their fists, stopping only after the water, now mixed with gastric juices, has poured from his mouth and nose. Then they turn on the spigot again. The technique, which was perfected during the Spanish Inquisition, produced in its victims the “simultaneous sensations of drowning and of being burned or cut as internal organs stretched and convulsed.” (snip)

Stories of American soldiers torturing Filipino insurgents and slaughtering civilians had become too prevalent, and too convincing, to ignore. “There have been lies, yes, but they were told in a good cause,” Twain wrote, ridiculing the government with his acidic satire. “We have been treacherous, but that was only in order that real good might come out of apparent evil.”

The American people were finally beginning to realize that pacification of the Philippines was not going to be a replay of the Spanish-American War. The Filipinos were poor, but they were not unsophisticated. They developed shadow governments, used an underground system to finance their insurgency — collecting donations and even taxes — and repeatedly surprised American troops with guerrilla attacks, killing a few men at a time and leaving the rest in a constant, exhausting state of vigilance. Enraged, the soldiers responded by employing the same tactics for which they had so recently criticized the Spanish. They burned whole villages, executed suspected guerrillas and felt justified in using any interrogation technique at hand, including the water cure.

Doug Dietrich on Alternate World History

I'd never heard of this guy before I heard him on Fetzer's show, and I thought the first 90 minutes or so were completely fascinating. The guy is extremely impressive in his breadth of knowledge and articulateness and just rapid-fire delivery. That being said, his schtick got a bit old towards the end and I watched a couple of YouTube videos of him that were not so great. But his whole view of the American empire in the 20th century is quite fascinating and I know at least some of what he was saying was correct.

Dietrich's view that Japan won WWII and was still a huge super-power, reminded me a bit of this piece on Japan's banking and economic system. Fascinating but confusing.

Rat Dreams Controlled While They Sleep

I'm sure this technology would only ever be used for good!
Researchers working at MIT have successfully manipulated the content of a rat's dream by replaying an audio cue that was associated with the previous day's events, namely running through a maze (what else).

The breakthrough furthers our understanding of how memory gets consolidated during sleep -- but it also holds potential for the prospect of "dream engineering."
Assuming, that the military and intel agencies don't already have have this worked out and are using it constantly...

Bush Knew

Of course he knew... but apparently he knew way before than the Aug. 6th PDB--
The direct warnings to Mr. Bush about the possibility of a Qaeda attack began in the spring of 2001. By May 1, the Central Intelligence Agency told the White House of a report that “a group presently in the United States” was planning a terrorist operation. Weeks later, on June 22, the daily brief reported that Qaeda strikes could be “imminent,” although intelligence suggested the time frame was flexible.

But some in the administration considered the warning to be just bluster. An intelligence official and a member of the Bush administration both told me in interviews that the neoconservative leaders who had recently assumed power at the Pentagon were warning the White House that the C.I.A. had been fooled; according to this theory, Bin Laden was merely pretending to be planning an attack to distract the administration from Saddam Hussein, whom the neoconservatives saw as a greater threat. Intelligence officials, these sources said, protested that the idea of Bin Laden, an Islamic fundamentalist, conspiring with Mr. Hussein, an Iraqi secularist, was ridiculous, but the neoconservatives’ suspicions were nevertheless carrying the day.

In response, the C.I.A. prepared an analysis that all but pleaded with the White House to accept that the danger from Bin Laden was real.

“The U.S. is not the target of a disinformation campaign by Usama Bin Laden,” the daily brief of June 29 read, using the government’s transliteration of Bin Laden’s first name. Going on for more than a page, the document recited much of the evidence, including an interview that month with a Middle Eastern journalist in which Bin Laden aides warned of a coming attack, as well as competitive pressures that the terrorist leader was feeling, given the number of Islamists being recruited for the separatist Russian region of Chechnya.

And the C.I.A. repeated the warnings in the briefs that followed. Operatives connected to Bin Laden, one reported on June 29, expected the planned near-term attacks to have “dramatic consequences,” including major casualties. On July 1, the brief stated that the operation had been delayed, but “will occur soon.” Some of the briefs again reminded Mr. Bush that the attack timing was flexible, and that, despite any perceived delay, the planned assault was on track.

Yet, the White House failed to take significant action. Officials at the Counterterrorism Center of the C.I.A. grew apoplectic. On July 9, at a meeting of the counterterrorism group, one official suggested that the staff put in for a transfer so that somebody else would be responsible when the attack took place, two people who were there told me in interviews. The suggestion was batted down, they said, because there would be no time to train anyone else.

That same day in Chechnya, according to intelligence I reviewed, Ibn Al-Khattab, an extremist who was known for his brutality and his links to Al Qaeda, told his followers that there would soon be very big news. Within 48 hours, an intelligence official told me, that information was conveyed to the White House, providing more data supporting the C.I.A.’s warnings. Still, the alarm bells didn’t sound.

On July 24, Mr. Bush was notified that the attack was still being readied, but that it had been postponed, perhaps by a few months. But the president did not feel the briefings on potential attacks were sufficient, one intelligence official told me, and instead asked for a broader analysis on Al Qaeda, its aspirations and its history. In response, the C.I.A. set to work on the Aug. 6 brief.
Even if you go by the official story, the negligence by Bush and company was simply SHOCKING and CRIMINAL.

Watched "The 9/11 Surfer" Movie

It had some good footage of the towers being nuked, and the Ground Zero aftermath, but otherwise wasn't so great-- mostly was weepy, personal stories. I was hoping they modeled the "collapse" and showed how Buzzelli survived in the stairwell and went down 20+ stories. The best they came up with was MIT's Thomas Eager talking about the "collapse" and saying there must have been some powerful updraft that cushioned Buzzelli's fall.

I hadn't really watched many of these official documentaries on 9/11 before, and never really realized how fucking AGONIZING it is when they show the tower being FUCKING NUKED and they call it a "collapse".

Israeli Involvement in the JFK Assassination

This Fetzer interview with Michael Collins Piper was amazingly interesting. I'd avoided Piper for a long time because someone had said he was a proponent of the idea that the Mossad killed JFK, and I thought he was some kind of single-minded researcher who finds Jews everywhere and blames everything on them. But whoever said that was grossly over-simplifying Piper's argument. While Piper does note an Israel involvement in the JFK assassination, he doesn't say that the Mossad did the killing -- at least not in any simple direct way. What Piper writes about in his book "Final Judgement" (which I have not read but only know from the interview and the Amazon reviews), is a key part of the JFK assassination puzzle involving Israel.

His two main points are that:
1) the Italian-American mafia was apparently ultimately under the control of the Jewish organized crime boss Meyer Lansky. Of course, there are extensive connections between the mafia and the JFK killing.

2) Israel (specifically David Ben-Gurion) was very upset with JFK because JFK was against Israel developing nuclear weapons. So Israel helped take out JFK, and LBJ took over and reversed this policy.

These are very key points. In fact, there are dozens of important tie-ins with this theory and the JFK assassination. For instance, CIA Chief James Angleton, clearly implicated in the ass'n plot, was likely a liaison for Israel and the CIA and the Mossad. Jack Ruby, who killed Oswald, was Jewish, and had mafia ties-- he likely was following orders of course.

What didn't come out in the interview, but could be an important connection, is Abraham Zapruder, a Jewsih businessman who took the famous film. Since the whole provenance of the film is very fishy, the question is how much can we actually trust Zapruder? Was he an agent?

"The 9/11 Surfer" -- New 9/11 Documentary

A ludicrous story:
Pasquale Buzzelli, a structural engineer with Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, kissed his eight-month pregnant wife goodbye on the morning of September 11, 2001 and headed to work on the 64th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. A little while later, he said he was “surfing” debris as the tower collapsed after being hit by a plane.

“We felt the building shudder, which was actually the South Tower collapsing, but we had no idea, we couldn’t see it. We started to make our way down the stairs, I got to the 22nd floor when everything started to vibrate and there was a rumbling from above,” Buzzelli told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column. “I dove into the corner and curled myself into a fetal position. I felt the wall crack open, and I started to fall from the 22nd floor… The thoughts that go through your mind, I just couldn’t believe that this was how I was going to die.”

As the one-hour Discovery episode entitled “The 9/11 Surfer” details, in those moments he prayed for his pregnant wife and their unborn daughter, and saw a bright flash come before him as he hit the surface. Buzzelli’s next memory was waking up surrounded by a mound of twisted steel and rubble, his feet dangling, unable to move.
AP wrote about his odd story in this piece.

"9/11 Truther Convinced Government Destroyed Past 11 Years Of His Life"

Once again, the Onion nails it.

Though for me, it was only really about 5 years-- my most active years on 9/11 research were 2005-2009. I don't really regret it, but I know the time I put into 9/11 impacted other parts of my life, particularly my career advancement.

11 Years Later---And Now for Something Different

On a discussion board a couple of days back, there was some guy I argued with about WTC7, who said he was at Ground Zero and WTC7 collapsed because of tunnels underground that collapsed from the twin towers going down. He was very difficult to get detailed information on this point from, so it was frustrating, but he was also very insistent that this is what happened. I pointed out how this is not the official govt story and basically no one puts forward this model. However, I did later remember this piece AP wrote, where he speculated on tunnels underneath WTC7:
We know that most, if not all of the videos of the two "plane hits" of the twin towers have been altered, or are simply computer generated. Having said that, here is a fairly complete set of several videos from different locations and angles showing WTC7 destruction. Can we contrast this with video of a conventional demolition of a similarly shaped wide skyscraper? See this demolition of the 32-storey, "wide-body" Stardust Casino in Las Vegas. Ignore the added Vegas fireworks. Notice how the entire (all the way up to the top) central structure all falls down, from the very onset of demolition, with the sides collapsing on top of this at the end. Notice also that the moving plumes of smoke start after the entire edifice has hit the ground. Contrast the latter with WTC7, which had much larger plumes of smoke flowing certainly at the start of demolition, and perhaps apparently even before (from basement explosions?)

But perhaps the most striking difference is in the near perfect, intact, ensemble "sliding down" of the upper floors of WTC7. With the exception of the initial collapse of the central penthouse, and an apparent initial kinking of the top left area of WTC7, we see an almost miraculous, perfectly uniform, even collapse. I assert that this is a demolition unlike any other, for many reasons. But the usual destruction of mere supports does not appear to be involved here. Rather whole levels of structure below the visible top floors appear to have been vaporized-more on this later. Now we appear to see at least the top 20 floors or more just coming down as an intact ensemble. What can account for such near-perfect uniformity? We don't see this in other CDs of similarly shaped buildings. Indeed, in other CDs, we saw that the initial central collapse followed by the outer portions falling inwards is created by the CD planners for the final footprint result, and occurs at the onset of CD. Assuming the videos are (somewhat) genuine, was the initial, central, rooftop penthouse "collapse" a clever way to get people to think the whole thing was occurring like other controlled demolitions? When the rest of it is not. (Or was the Penthouse coupled to something in the basement, or the lowest floors?)

Part of the problem of analyzing the WTC7 CD, is the fact that smoke, and other buildings, obscure what happens to the bottom half. A chemist, Frank Legge, PhD stated that the upper floors of WTC7 came down just slightly slower than freefall speed in a vacuum (6.2 vs. 6.0 sec.). (snip)

The following section is to be regarded, at this time, as purely speculation, and is not essential to this article on the demolition of WTC7. This speculative hypothesis (apparently published here for the first time) relates to the nuclear demolition of WTC7, and possibly the other WTC buildings. The following speculation could provide for the necessary nuclear reactors which provided either the explosive nuclear material (Tahil hypothesis), or more likely, IMO, the source for heat GENERATION weeks and months later to explain all the hotpsots, and molten steel observed at such later dates-as late as February 2002. Note that this section is not necessary for the whole of my WTC Nuclear CD Theory, as I have already stated that blasted, unexploded mini-nukes could have provided for the nuclear reacting criticality sites, and resultant hotpsots. I write now of the remarkable Nuclear Borer. A photo of which is here- note it states that 42 levels were bored out by the Nuclear Borer. Here is the public patent granted in 1972.

A discussion of the Nuclear Borer is here. I am only concerned with what is spoken of at 2:35 seconds in. I will not comment on the rest of this video. I am only concerned with the depiction and knowledge of the Nuclear Borer. Note that the 1972 public patent states, "The heat source can be electrical or nuclear but for deep drilling is preferably a nuclear reactor." We must note that if this remarkable military device had a PUBLIC patent granted in 1972, it must have been used much earlier. And it is highly likely that 30 years later, in 2001, there would have been much faster, more powerful, smaller versions in existence. Other eyewitnesses have stated that this is precisely the case, and they have been used to quickly construct massive, very deep (thousands of feet), underground, connected bases- but this is beyond the present discussion.

This Nuclear Borer speculative aspect of my WTC nuclear demolition theory perhaps resolves the last piece of the puzzle, as follows. Apparently few people seem to be concerned with the fact that the molten steel at the WTC weeks and months later should require a source for the GENERATION of such heat, weeks and months later. I had hypothesized that these great hotspots (deep) underground were nuclear criticality sites from blasted, but unexploded mini-nukes. But the fact that there are so many of these hotpsots indicates that these may not have been "accidents"/mishaps; rather the resultant hotpsots may have occurred because their source was built into the demolition scheme itself. The nuclear reactors in the Nuclear Borers appear to fill this last piece of the puzzle quite well. But the earlier hypothesis of nukes blasting unexploded other mini-nukes, resulting in nuclear-reacting criticality hotspots may still hold. In more detail, regarding this Nuclear Borer hypothesis, the requisite 20 or more floors were drilled out in the sub-basement, with stability left in, until that was exploded by the mini-nuke(s) at 5:30. The drilling-out was possibly done that day, after evacuation after the "plane hits". Perhaps this "perfect ensemble collapse" was perpetrated to reinforce the claim that the two towers came down via gravitational pancaking. Maybe the powers that be thought it would be easier for the masses to swallow this, if they "collapsed" at least one of the buildings--which by then had many video cameras trained on it--to look like a gravitational pancaking--which the END result does, as does a superficial understanding/viewing of the WTC7 "collapse" itself. But recall all the chaos in the nuking of WTC 1 and 2. Recall the whole chunks breaking off, and that massive, separated top part of WTC2? Did the WTC1, 2 "collapses" look anything like the perfect ensemble "collapse" of WTC7? Or did WTC7 demolition, look anything like any other demolition? So perhaps the WTC7 demolition fell as such a "perfect ensemble" because it fell into its own perfectly drilled-out footprint! Nukes provide for lots of "uneven" chaos. Perhaps only a perfectly drilled-out hole could have accounted for the perfect ensemble collapse--drilled out by the Nuclear Borer (or successor device).

Let us look at the history of the WTC, and the nuclear Borer. The WTC was built in the late 60's and early 70's, when the Nuclear Borer had already been used for some time in drilling out underground nuclear bomb cavities. One possibility in my Nuclear Borer Speculation is thus that Nuclear Borer(s) could have been used at the WTC during its construction, and left in place for use during its destruction! Another possibility (as per the above) is that one of them--or a more potent, yet smaller, successor device--was very busy underneath WTC7 for some 6-7 hours, drilling out sufficient sub-basement floors to allow the unique ensemble collapse of WTC7 at around 5:30 P.M. This may answer numerous questions: Could this be why they took so long, after the other buildings were destroyed? Could some unexpected problem in the use of the Nuclear Borer be the reason that the PTB gave the media too early a time for the destruction of WTC7? Could the exploded nuclear reactors in several Nuclear Borers, and their still critical components be the underground source for the many hotspots and molten steel weeks and months later? Could the Nuclear Borer's reactors be the fission reactors that William Tahil hypothesized? I always thought his hypothesis had some merit, but didn't quite fit. Unlike Tahil, I believe that mini-nukes (fusion devices) brought down the towers, and possibly all the other WTC buildings and now WTC7 too. And these nukes could have also exploded the reactors in the Nuclear Borers which may have been used to drill out necessary parts of each of the WTC buildings for the other nukes to do their thing. In particular, extensive Nuclear Borer drilling may have occurred some time before WTC7 destruction, perhaps that late morning and afternoon. This allowed for that most unique "falling in its own footprint" "collapse" ever to be seen. WTC7 did fall through its own footprint once demolition began; as many underground floors had been bored out and a mini-nuke set-off underground or at a lower floor above ground initiated its unique destruction. It then indeed proceeded to fall through its already drilled out footprint-deep underground! This ends the Nuclear Borer Speculative Hypothesis, which is not necessary for this WTC7 nuclear demolition article, as a whole.
(emphasis added) Food for thought, for sure!

Viva l'Italia!!!

President of Italy’s Supreme Court To Refer 9/11 Crimes To International Criminal Court--
Says that 9/11 was “False Flag” Terror, Just Like the Strategy of Tension in Italy

Ferdinando Imposimato is the honorary President of the Supreme Court of Italy, and former Senior Investigative Judge, Italy.

Imposimato presided over several terrorism-related cases, including the kidnapping and ultimate assassination of President Aldo Moro, the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II, other political assassinations and kidnapping cases and several cases against the Mafia. He is a former Senator who served on the Anti-Mafia Commission in three administrations.

Imposimato is also a former legal consultant to the United Nations regarding institution of laws to control drug trafficking.

This week, Judge Imposimato stated publicly in writing that 9/11 was just like the “strategy of tension” carried out in Italy.

Specifically, the former Italian Prime Minister, Italian judges, and the former head of Italian counterintelligence admit that NATO, with the help of the Pentagon and CIA, carried out terror bombings in Italy and other European countries in the 1950s and blamed the communists, in order to rally people’s support for their governments in Europe in their fight against communism.

As one participant in this formerly-secret program stated: “You had to attack civilians, people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security” (and see this)(Italy and other European countries subject to the terror campaign had joined NATO before the bombings occurred).

Judge Imposimato writes that 9/11 was the exact same type of attack: an act of false flag terror.

Judge Imposimato announced that he is going to recommend that the International Criminal Court hold a criminal trial into 9/11.

Imposimato noted that the International Criminal Court was set up to protect the world from criminal acts of war, and that it is the perfect judicial body to hear such a case.

Jumping from WTC Foreshadowed in Tom Cruise Movie "Vanilla Sky"

The movie was released in December 2001 but clearly was filmed long before then, and well before 9/11. The end scene has Tom Cruise jumping off an incredibly fictional tall building on the north end on Manhattan, and sailing in the air, a la the 9/11 WTC jumpers. Further ironies are (see snapshots* from the paused movie below): 1) that one can see the iconic WTC twin towers in the distance, 2) the building Cruise jumps from looks like the WTC, 3) the falling Cruise looks quite like the iconic 9/11 images of WTC jumpers.

Note the WTC twin towers off in the distance here (to the right of the moving man's arm):

The bldg Cruise is falling from is to the right, note the facade. Cruise's body is in the middle of the shot:

Very odd.

I'm sure others have noticed this striking similarity before, but I didn't see anything obvious in a google search, except for one blog post somewhere, which was quite minimal in its description.

I did see the director supposedly wanted to cut the WTC from the shot after 9/11, but apparently never did.

The movie is weird all the way around-- one of those movies where you don't know what is real and what is a dream or fantasy. Perhaps something like 9/11.

Also, the movie starts on the characters' 33rd birthday, and revolves around what happened that day.

*I apologize for the poor quality and the reflections in the shots. Just wanted to get some quick shots to give people an idea of the imagery.

Masons on the Moon?

Kind of amusing, though ultimately all BS:
it is claimed by some that Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong performed a "communion" ceremony "33" minutes after landing on the Moon and that Buzz carried a Masonic flag with him to the moon, and that he brought it back to Earth and presented it to the "Sovereign Grand Commander" Smith who was the Supreme Commander of the Supreme Council of the World. The flag Is hung in the Library Museum in the Scottish Rite Temple in Washington, DC located at 1733 Sixteenth Street, NW, Washington, DC.

In Aldrin’s autobiography, Return to Earth, the only mention of Masonry is when he says that he temporarily lost his grandfather’s Masonic ring that he wanted to take to the Moon while suiting up for the mission. He says nothing about that banner, nor of the “SPECIAL DEPUTATION” he undertook for the Texas Grand Lodge on the Moon.

Larry Silverstein's Airlines Trial Goes to Court But Not the Victims?

Fucking ridiculous:
A U.S. District Court judge in New York ruled this week that American and United airlines must face trial over a $2.8 billion lawsuit the World Trade Center Properties LLC (WTCP) filed that alleges “negligence” allowed the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 to happen.

Were it not for the airlines’ slip-ups, “the terrorists could not have boarded and hijacked the aircraft and flown them into the twin towers,” the company alleges in court documents (PDF).

WTCP initially sought $12.8 billion from the airlines, but the court limited the trial’s claim to $2.8 billion to avoid bankrupting the airlines should they lose.

The company’s owner, New York real estate mogul Larry Silverstein, obtained 99-year leases on the towers six weeks before the attacks of Sept. 11, paying $3.25 billion. Silverstein also purchased what court documents call “twelve-layer, multiple-company insurance coverage,” set to pay out $3.5 billion “per occurrence” in the event of a terrorist attack. He’s since become the focus of numerous conspiracy theories about the attacks, but has never faced any serious criminal allegations or inquiry.

In addition to suing the airlines in 2004, WTCP sued its insurers shortly after the attacks, arguing the tragic day constituted two occurrences instead of one. The parties ultimately settled for just over $4 billion.

The airlines and even aircraft-maker Boeing have faced similar lawsuits before, but none nearly as large as WTCP’s. Not even the first responders or survivors of the attacks held as much leverage as Silverstein, with injury claims against the 9/11 victims compensation fund created by Congress paying out about $400,000 on average, and death claims resulting in about $2 million per family. The Bush administration shut that fund down in 2003, but President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats reactivated it in 2010, despite a unanimous Republican attempt to kill the bill.

In denying the airlines’ request for dismissal this week, U.S. District Court Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein explained that the defense’s claims must be verified with “reasonable certainty,” as required by law. Therefore, the case will move to trial to allow for evidence discovery and a more thorough accounting of facts.
(emphasis added)

What a scam, all the way around. This is clearly just about Silverstein collecting money and nothing to do with any real culpability. Though, one never knows what kind of new revelations about 9/11 that might come out of this kind of trial...

33 of the Day

Watch out for this new op:
A new highly-toxic strain of the potentially deadly bird flu virus has appeared in Vietnam and is spreading fast, according to state media reports.

The strain appeared to be a mutation of the H5N1 virus which swept through the country’s poultry flocks last year, forcing mass culls of birds in affected areas, according to agriculture officials.

The new virus “is quickly spreading and this is the big concern of the government”, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Diep Kinh Tan said, according to a Thursday report in the VietnamNet online newspaper.
(snip)

The avian influenza virus has killed more than 330 people around the world, and scientists fear it could mutate into a form readily transmissible between humans, with the potential to cause millions of deaths.

Other Massive American Atrocities

At the end of WWII, US General Eisenhower let 700,000-1,000,000 German POWs starve in prison camps.

The Tokyo firebombings are supposed to have killed at least 100,000 innocent civilians.

And yet we are supposed to be the good guys.

Another atrocity was the US invasion of Iraq, that killed a comparable number of people-- where US troops were purposefully misled to believe they were avenging 9/11. Just sickening.

Let's not forget the brutal 1991-2003 sanctions against Iraq, that led to the deaths of at least 1 million Iraqis, mostly children.

A View of History Where Nazi Germany Was the Aggrieved Party

Certainly eye-opening, for sure:

It's actually hard to refute most of the points here, so you know-- what a mind-fuck if you're an American raised on the Nazis being the the ultimate in evil. I've no doubt they were "bad"-- they were clearly fascists-- but were they worse than what we are now-- with our constant ongoing slaughter of innocents with drones, our recent genocidal invasion of Iraq and our ongoing war in Afghanistan?

If nothing else, this video gives a better understanding of what Germany was THINKING in WWII. The holocaust.... well, even if you don't buy the rosy view of the concentration camps painted here, it's really hard to believe the Hollywood horror story we've had forced on us over the years.

Then there is the German view of the Dresden firebombing:

All war is a crime, and WWII was one of the worst crimes known to mankind. So much death, from all sides. The Dresden fire-bombing by the British was a foreshadowing of the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the US. All terrible, horrible, mind-numbing crimes, all around. The Nazis obviously have received much of the blame for WWII, but there is certainly some evidence that Hitler was a British agent, and that all wars are controlled to some extent by our extremely evil PTB.

Not to mention the horrible actions by Israel -- the US client state-- since its history, on the Palestinians.

End Times Fantasies

Ah wingnuts:
READ EVERY WORD OF THIS AT LEAST TWICE. Matt Bracken has written a piece over at Western Rifle Shooters that matches exactly how I have envisaged the coming collapse and civil war.

His belief that it will all begin with the rejection of EBT Foodstamps cards is, I think, spot-on.

Next comes the urban riots.

Then comes the rioters spilling into the suburbs.

Then comes full-blown chaos when the rioters realize that the cops alone can't contain them.

Then come the beatings, rapes and murders. In the open. In broad daylight. At heavily trafficked intersections.

Then comes the militia, which is what I intend to do when shizz gets real. That has been my intention all along, since the fall of 2008 when I knew that collapse and civil war was an inevitability.

Echoing Bracken, if I am either sandbagged or on a bipod, 400 yards is an EASY kill. Men are a hell of a lot bigger than prairie dogs, which is why learning to snipe on prairie dogs is so wise, in addition to good, wholesome fun.

When I tell you people to be buying LONG GUNS and ammo, I'm not kidding. Assault rifles and tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition is one of the best places to park wealth right now. And you better know how to use it, and you better sit your wife down, tell her to cut the sissy, whiny female bullshit and learn how to handle every weapon system in your arsenal. This isn't a damn game or a TV show. Many, many women are going to find themselves as the ONLY THING standing between a hip-hop rape mob and their children.

If you haven't watched my Vendee Genocide YouTube presentation, I clearly lay out the case that it is an absolute certainty that THERE WILL BE MASS RAPES when the inner city hip-hop contingent can no longer be contained by standard law enforcement. It isn't even debatable.

Read the essay above, and then GET READY. QUICKLY.

Elephant Poaching on the Rise Due to Chinese Wealth

This is really depressing. Tens of thousands of elephants killed a year for their ivory tusks. They are now being threatened with extinction. Why oh why, is fucking ivory still in demand?

Even worse, there is a military component to the poaching and likely some of the groups receive US DOD money.

Sad News

"Nolo contendere" of the Piglipstick blog has passed away. I did enjoy his site quite a bit over the years.

As to the last post, about going away from the obnoxious TSA, it's worth noting that the reason the TSA was set up in the first place, was due to 9/11, and the fear that private security companies did not have uniform standards and could be corrupted. So getting rid of the TSA isn't necessarily the solution. The solution is to have better rules and guidelines, so they don't act like fucking obnoxious gestapo assholes.

I should note that I fly regularly and have never had any issue with the TSA, and often they are fairly pleasant to me. Nor have I seen them harrass anyone around me. Of course, the TSA has done some ridiculously obnoxious/horrible things, but I suspect that the few bad apples are highly publicized in part because the GOP has always disliked the fact that the TSA is a unionized work-force. So I think there is a bit of propaganda at play here.

I Will Not Vote for Obama Again

but there is a very scary, unique form of delusion that has overtaken the GOP, that must be stopped.

Right now, I consider the GOP as the biggest threat to the country and to the world (not to say there aren't other major threats from the US govt in general).

9/11 Remote Viewing

I have NO IDEA what to make of this -- some guy named Mike Wegrzyn says 9/11 was remote viewed back in early 2001, i.e. before it happened-- along with a WHOLE BUNCH of other weird stuff. Via this discussion of Fetzer's review of Wood's book.

What I can say for sure, is that there are a LOT of people who love Wood's stuff beyond any rationality. It's kind of like a cult. It's hard to know if these are real people, who are kind of just traumatized by the last 11 years, and so are glomming onto Wood's mushy thinking and vague theories*, or they are some kind of intel op.

*The towers were "dustified" by directed energy weapons but it wasn't really a DEW or anything to do with the Star Wars program; the towers were destroyed by a nuclear-like reaction in every way except there was no heat or light or sound produced; the effect was something like what John Hutchison does and Nikola Tesla did and somehow used hurricane energy, etc, etc.

"9/11 Crash Test"

This guy is hoping to do an experiment where a Being 767 wing is rammed into WTC-like outer columns:

Seems like it would be fun and interesting to do, but unlikely to ultimately change anything.

This video is quite cool, though I'm not sure it helps debunk the official story:

GOP: We Loved Everything George W Bush Did, But We Must Never Speak of Him Again

If the GOP admitted to the existence of George W. Bush, then their entire 2012 presidential campaign becomes Deja Vu all over again. Revisionism works for those who want to believe it. The truth is Romney, Ryan and the GOP want do EXACTLY what George W Bush did which got us into the mess we are in. They want two more wars, one with Syria and another with Iran, they want to give another round of tax breaks for the wealthy and further deregulate financial institutions. So they have to lie and cheat and steal to make any progress. Remember, it is not the bankers and billionaries they have to win over, but 50 million nitwits.

A Catholic Priest, a Pedophile and a Homosexual Walk Into a Bar...

and he orders a drink...

Holy crap!
A Catholic newspaper has removed an interview from their website in which a priest said that pedophiles are seduced by children in “a lot of the cases” and the abusers should not go to jail.

During an interview with National Catholic Register, 78-year-old Father Benedict Groeschel was asked about his experience working with priests involved in abuse.

“People have this picture in their minds of a person planning to — a psychopath. But that’s not the case,” Groeschel explained. “Suppose you have a man having a nervous breakdown, and a youngster comes after him. A lot of the cases, the youngster — 14, 16, 18 — is the seducer.”

“Well, it’s not so hard to see — a kid looking for a father and didn’t have his own — and they won’t be planning to get into heavy-duty sex, but almost romantic, embracing, kissing, perhaps sleeping but not having intercourse or anything like that,” he continued.

Groeschel called the abuse “an understandable thing,” and pointed to Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky, who he called a “poor guy.”

“Why didn’t anyone say anything? Apparently, a number of kids knew about it and didn’t break the ice. Well, you know, until recent years, people did not register in their minds that it was a crime. It was a moral failure, scandalous; but they didn’t think of it in terms of legal things.”

Groeschel pointed out that “sexual difficulties” were rarely prosecuted 10 or 15 years ago, and now if “any responsible person in society would become involved in a single sexual act — not necessarily intercourse — they’re done.”
