CIA-Led Atrocities in Afghanistan

God, this is so horrible and evil and depressing:
... there's no question, as Rosenberg notes, that "throughout the war, the United States military and the CIA have organized and trained clandestine militias. A number still operate, and remain beyond the knowledge or control of the Afghan government." Recall that the CIA got caught making payments for years to Karzai's suspected drug-running brother, Ahmed, "for a variety of services, including helping to recruit an Afghan paramilitary force that operates at the CIA's direction in and around the southern city of Kandahar". These are the US-controlled militias, beyond the authority of the Afghan government, on which the US intends to rely if and when it "withdraws" from that country.

(snip)

As but one illustrative example: in 2010, as I wrote at the time, US forces in the Paktia Province, after surrounding a home where a celebration of a new birth was taking place, shot dead two male civilians (government officials) who exited the house in order to inquire why they had been surrounded, and then shot and killed three female relatives (a pregnant mother of ten, a pregnant mother of six, and a teenager). When local villagers loudly complained, the Pentagon lied about what happened, claiming that the dead males were "insurgents" or terrorists; the bodies of the three women had been found by US forces bound and gagged inside the home, and suggested that the women had already been killed by the time the US had arrived, likely the victim of "honor killings" by the Taliban militants killed in the attack. US media outlets, needless to say, mindlessly recited the US government's claims (CNN: "Bodies found gagged, bound after Afghan 'honor killing'"), but the Pentagon was finally forced to admit that its Special Forces had killed the women and then covered-up and lied about what happened.

Whatever is true about these latest human rights abuses, the perception is widespread in Afghanistan that the US is responsible and that the militias it is training are no better than the Taliban. From Rosenberg:

"The action also reflected a deep distrust of international forces that is now widespread in Afghanistan, and the view held by many Afghans, President Hamid Karzai among them, that the coalition shares responsibility with the Taliban for the violence that continues to afflict the country. . . .

"But Afghan officials cited as even more troubling American Special Operations units' use of Afghan proxy forces that are not under the government's control. Afghan civilians and local officials have complained that some irregular forces have looked little different from Taliban fighters or bandits and behaved little differently."

So that's where the US is after almost 12 years of waging war in that country, the longest war in its history. The US is blamed on equal terms with the Taliban, at least. It maintains and supports (if not directs) non-government militias which are perceived, with ample evidence, as being death squads and torture units. Thus do we find, yet again, that the fruits of US humanitarian interventions - liberating the oppressed and bringing freedom and democracy to the world - are little more than replicating the abuses of the tyrannical regime it targeted, just under a different owner.
We need to get OUT OF FUCKING AFGHANISTAN, NOW, AND PROSECUTE CIA WAR CRIMINALS.

Judy Wood and Friends on the Deanna Spingola Show

THE STUPID, IT BURNS!!!!

Wow-- it was really painful listening to just the first hour of this. These people are fucking doofuses.

The best part is where Wood claims she is not a disinfo agent, because it's illegal for people in the government to lie because of some old law against propaganda, so she has to be telling the truth, or something.

But if she's not an agent, she can lie, right?

But apparently the 9/11 Commission report didn't have any lies, just omissions. So, that means flights 11 and 175 really were hijacked by al Qaeda terrorists and really hit the twin towers, and Hani Hanjour really piloted flight 77 into the Pentagon, etc.

And the Bush administration NEVER put out any propaganda about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction. Because that would be illegal, right???

And apparently Wood is completely incapable of formulating any real theory at all and JUST WILL NOT BE PINNED DOWN ON WHAT SHE THINKS REALLY HAPPENED OR WHAT GIZMO DESTROYED THE TOWERS. AND HOW DARE PEOPLE THINK FREE ENERGY AND BEAM WEAPONS HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TOWERS! Even though the title of her book talks about free energy and she used to freely talk about star wars beam weapons.

Then the rest of the show is her and her friends complaining how they don't trust anyone else and whining about how people can't accept her theories/evidence.

Wow, I can't wait to listen to the next hour. And then I will schedule a lobotomy for myself.

UPDATE:
Listened to a bit more.  Mentioned nukes, so far, only by Andrew Johnson in the context of saying how mean Jeff Prager was to them because Prager dismissed their evidence.  I am not going to get into all that back and forth, but Prager has way more credibility than Johnson, imo.

What is amazing is how completely non-self-aware and self-contradictory these people are.  They go on and on about how they are the only ones who understand anything, everyone else is brainwashed, and being in a group of people/having a lot of friends is bad, while complaining that their info can change the world but that no one will listen to them or take them seriously anyway, and that they like being alone.  They seem incredibly naive -- they are like children who are mad because other kids don't like them for some reason.

The problem is not so much that they are completely wrong about 9/11 being an inside job and the towers blown up by powerful high-tech weaponry (nukes, but they won't admit it), but that their attitude is so infantile. They have almost no awareness of other conspiracies or the multitude of terrible evils that are independent of 9/11 or the larger picture or any understanding of normal human nature.  The whole thing is just freaking bizarre.

UPDATE 2:
Hard the whole thing.  The last 30 minutes was tolerable-- better, but still had some cringe-worthy moments.  The most disturbing thing is the Messiah complex that Wood has developed about herself, and she definitely has people propping her up.

Lastly, judged by her website, Spingola seems to have done a lot of writing, but she sounds like a total nitwit on the show.  Also, like Fetzer, she has interviewed tons of conspiracy researchers, but hasn't apparently synthesized any larger conspiracy view/worldview, which has always bugged me about Fetzer.

"Escape From Planet Earth"

I haven't seen this comedic cartoon movie, but I'm curious if there were any interesting conspiracy bits hidden in it.

"The central premise of aliens being trapped on Earth isn’t terribly new, either, with everyone from E.T. to TV’s Alf and Mork & Mindy having already gone down this interstellar path."

Hmm... the premise of ET's being trapped on earth IS a common premise, and is also the same premise as Anonymous Physicist's ultimate conspiracy-- the quarantining of the evil aliens that have fucked with humanity for tens of thousands of years.  Despite the fact that my old conspiracy friend/mentor AP really went off the rails almost a year ago, I still think he was right about the quarantine.  There has to be some truth to it, it is such a common theme.

However, really, the movie that most unbelievably recapitulated APs grand alien quarantine conspiracy was "The Simpsons Movie".  I still am in awe how blatant that movie was, about the quarantine and related conspiracy matters.

33 in the News

Awesome line--
"Authorities say a 10 ton space rock, travelling at a speed of 33,000mph, hit the Earth's atmosphere with a force equivalent to 30 of the atomic bombs which destroyed the city of Hiroshima."

But was it REALLY a meteor?  Or a shot down UFO?
(duh duh DUNH)

And--
"...at least 33 people were injured when a car flew into the fence during a NASCAR race at Daytona International Speedway, sending a tire and large pieces of debris sailing into the stands."

Anytime they use "at least 33", you know they really wanted to get the 33 in there.

The Execution of Christopher Dorner

So sick and so emblematic of our times-- we are still using 18th-19th century (or worse) justice.  Mostly it seems that the LAPD wanted to shut the guy up, I've no idea why.

The Freedom Trap

This BBC series on political theory and personal freedom is really quite fascinating, in terms of how conservative thought has evolved, the views on different types of power and the way governments and corporations and societies can go awry. Of course, it doesn't get into conspiracy at all, but still the ideas are quite neat.  And I love the samplings of Brian Eno music.

33 of the Day #2: Krazy Kop on the Loose

Of course he's 33:
Even before authorities had confirmed that the torched pickup truck discovered on a quiet forest road belonged to suspected gunman Christopher Dorner, 33, officials had ordered an emergency lockdown of local businesses, homes and the town's popular ski resorts. Parents were told to pick up their children from school, as rolling yellow buses might pose a target to an unpredictable fugitive on the run.
By nightfall, many residents had barricaded their doors as they prepared for a long, anxious evening.
"We're all just stressed," said Andrea Burtons as she stocked up on provisions at a convenience store. "I have to go pick up my brother and get him home where we're safe."
Police ordered the lockdown about 9:30 a.m. as authorities throughout Southern California launched an immense manhunt for the former lawman, who is accused of killing three people as part of a long-standing grudge against the LAPD. Dorner is believed to have penned a long, angry manifesto on Facebook saying that he was unfairly fired from the force and was now seeking vengeance.

Do Americans Care About Drone Killings Now?

Is this a thing?  A lot in the news now on drones because of this:
http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/020413_DOJ_White_Paper.pdf

YES -- it's terrible, unconstitutional, insane, sickening, disgusting, nauseating, outrageous, inhumane, extralegal, etc.

It's also not much of a surprise.

It's been clear since, oh, about 2009, Obama sucks, he is a war criminal-- and so are all the senior government officials in charge of "national security".

It's been clear since, forever, since this nation was started, we're led by a bunch of blood-thirsty psychopaths.

What to do, what to do.

The 9/11 Cover-Up Continues

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, Cuba --A judge expressed frustration on Monday that an unknown U.S. government entity censored his courtroom audiovisual feed, cutting public access to pretrial hearings for five accused Sept. 11 plotters.
"If some external body is turning the commission on or off based on their own views of what things ought to be, with no reasonable explanation ... then we’re going to have a little meeting about who turns that light on and off," said the judge, Col. James Pohl.
Pohl's comments came after an unknown censor cut off a live media feed to the court proceedings as David Nevin, a lawyer defending Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, began discussing his request for information on his client's case.

Proceedings at Guantanamo's maximum-security court are broadcast over closed-circuit television to journalists observing from an adjacent room. Additional reporters monitor the feed from a nearby media center, and at Fort Meade, Md.
A red light resembling a police emergency beacon goes off in the courtroom when the censorship button has been activated. A court security officer positioned next to the judge has the ability to dump the feed if anything secret arises. That officer didn't activate the censorship button on Monday.
Defense attorneys said they didn't previously know that someone outside the courtroom could cut off the feed.
"I would like to know who has the permission to turn that light on and off, who is listening to this, who is controlling these proceedings, or controlling that aspect of these proceedings," Nevin said.

When Even Israeli Intel Heads Are Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany, You Know You Have a Problem

The Gatekeepers: In New Film, Ex-Shin Bet Chiefs Denounce Occupation, Compare Israel to Nazi Germany.

And pressure builds on Israel:
Israel must withdraw all settlers from the West Bank or potentially face a case at the international criminal court (ICC) for serious violations of international law, says a report by a United Nations agency that was immediately dismissed in Jerusalem as "counterproductive and unfortunate". All settlement activity in occupied territory must cease "without preconditions" and Israel "must immediately initiate a process of withdrawal of all settlers", said the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Israel, it said, was in violation of article 49 of the fourth Geneva convention, which forbids the transfer of civilian populations to occupied territory.

2nd Amendment Solutions to a Tyrannical Government are a Pipe Dream

For one-- we already HAVE a tyrannical government!

So, yes-- I fully understand the feeling that the Federal government is out of control, and we need to start over.

But guns are not going to solve the mess we are in.

In fact, everything is out of control--  corporations are out of control, pollution is out of control, the police are out of control, the GOP is out of control, religion is out of control, humanity is out of control. Same as it ever was, in some ways.

IMO, we need fewer guns and far more education and civic engagement.

I wish "conservatives" would care more about the other rights we have and less about the right to have guns.

It makes absolutely no sense to say that Americans can't own military hardware such as bombs and bazookas but Americans have a right to own assault rifles with extended capacity magazines.  Thankfully, most Americans actually agree with common sense gun controls.  It's the fucking politicians, especially on the right, that are the problem.

Fuck the NRA -- they are mainly braindead puppets for the real merchants of death: gun manufacturers.

Fuck the gun fetishists who mock victims of gun massacres, the have lost their humanity for the sake of guns.

Mass non-violent protests are the only way to change anything.  Guns will only bring bigger guns in return and more importantly, give an opportunity and excuse for the PTB to kill those who want change.
