A 29-year-old Moroccan man who believed he was working with al-Qaida was arrested Friday near the U.S. Capitol as he was planning to detonate what he thought was a suicide vest that undercover operatives gave him, officials said. Amine El Khalifi of Alexandria, Va., was taken into custody with a gun that didn't work and inert explosives, according to a counterterrorism official. He arrived near the Capitol in a van with the two undercover operatives, and walked toward the building, according to court papers. He was arrested before he left the parking garage. El Khalifi made a brief appearance on Friday afternoon in federal court in Alexandria, where a judge set a bail hearing for Wednesday. After his arrest, FBI agents raided a red brick rambler home in Arlington, Va. A police car blocked the entrance.

A criminal complaint charges him with knowingly and unlawfully attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction against property that is owned and used by the United States. The charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

El Khalifi, who was under constant surveillance, expressed interest in killing at least 30 people and considered targeting a building in Alexandria and a restaurant, synagogue and a place where military personnel gather in Washington before he settled on the Capitol after canvassing that area a couple of times, the counterterrorism official said. During the investigation, El Khalifi went with undercover operatives in January to a quarry in West Virginia to practice detonating explosives, according to court documents. He believed he was working with an al-Qaida operative on the plot, according to an affidavit.

On November 11, 2011, the petition for a parliamentary review of the destruction of the three WTC skyscrapers on 9/11 was submitted to the Government of Canada by members of the Canadian 9/11 truth movement. The petition will soon be formally read in Parliament.

It was signed by 1,405 Canadians, and under long standing protocols, a formal response is required within 45 days.

The petition includes specific points of evidence that must be evaluated and addressed in its response. It specifically asks several pointed questions about a range of evidence that has been assembled and validated by the 1,600 strong Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth.

Terrorists supposedly attacked the World Trade Center towers on 9/11 because they hated the freedoms of Americans. Now their ilk will be satisfied to learn that anyone in the vicinity of the new World Trade Center will have absolutely no freedoms whatsoever.

According to plans seen by The New York Post, The Port Authority is to deploy military grade security, unrivalled by anything currently used in any city in the world.

The agency is set to roll out chilling technology akin to that described in The Minority Report that will subject Americans to pre-crime interrogations and physiological scans to detect malintent.

The PA plans to install and operate science-fiction-like devices such as infrared and heat sensors that can be outfitted with explosive and radiation detectors.

In what it claims are efforts to protect the new somewhat ironically named “Freedom Tower”, the PA plans also call for sophisticated surveillance cameras that have built in facial and retina scanners. The cameras will be able to scan everyone in the vicinity and run their biometric features against government criminal databases and terrorist watch lists.

The report also states that the PA is considering behavioral monitoring technology that will track everyone’s movements on the ground and flag up any “unusual movements”.

Security personnel and police would be automatically alerted if “artificial intelligence” cameras spotted someone walking erratically, against the flow of pedestrians, deviating from sidewalks or putting a bag down where people do not normally put bags down.

The operation is to be implemented and overseen by Defense Department contractor Behavioral Recognition Systems, which has been developing the technology for some years.

On December 30 of last year, ABC News reported on a 16-year-old Pakistani boy, Tariq Khan, who was killed with his 12-year-old cousin when a car in which he was riding was hit with a missile fired by a U.S. drone. As I noted at the time, the report contained this extraordinary passage buried in the middle:

Asked for documentation of Tariq and Waheed’s deaths, Akbar did not provide pictures of the missile strike scene. Virtually none exist, since drones often target people who show up at the scene of an attack.

What made that sentence so amazing was that it basically amounts to a report that the U.S. first kills people with drones, then fires on the rescuers and others who arrive at the scene where the new corpses and injured victims lie.

In a just-released, richly documented report, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, on behalf of the Sunday Times, documents that this is exactly what the U.S. is doing — and worse:

The CIA’s drone campaign in Pakistan has killed dozens of civilians who had gone to help rescue victims or were attending funerals, an investigation by the Bureau for the Sunday Times has revealed.

The findings are published just days after President Obama claimed that the drone campaign in Pakistan was a “targeted, focused effort” that “has not caused a huge number of civilian casualties”. . . .

A three month investigation including eye witness reports has found evidence that at least 50 civilians were killed in follow-up strikes when they had gone to help victims. More than 20 civilians have also been attacked in deliberate strikes on funerals and mourners. The tactics have been condemned by leading legal experts.

Although the drone attacks were started under the Bush administration in 2004, they have been stepped up enormously under Obama.

There have been 260 attacks by unmanned Predators or Reapers in Pakistan by Obama’s administration – averaging one every four days.
As I indicated, there have been scattered, mostly buried indications in the American media that drones have been targeting and killing rescuers.

We are ruled by terrorists, no exaggeration whatsoever.

Malcolm X

I recently re-watched Spike Lee's "Malcolm X"; I hadn't seen it since it came out in 1992. A three hour movie, it was a bit slow and meandering in the early going. The last half hour of "Malcolm X" was very captivating; seemed as though the real Malcolm X was far more charismatic than Denzel Washington. Denzel played most of the movie with a dour expression, but in the vintage clips of Malcolm X they showed, he had an amazing and beautiful smile. It's easy to forget how influential Malcolm X was. His assassination was one of the major traumatic moments of the 60's, and probably intel-controled at some level. It seems like no one knows exactly who killed him, and I haven't researched the assassination conspiracy in any way, but it's clear he was under heavy CIA/FBI surveillance. Note the wikipedia page on him (well worth reading in general) says:

"As Malcolm X and his bodyguards moved to quiet the disturbance, a man rushed forward and shot him in the chest with a sawed-off shotgun. Two other men charged the stage and fired semi-automatic handguns, hitting Malcolm X several times. He was pronounced dead at 3:30 pm, shortly after he arrived at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. According to the autopsy report, Malcolm X's body had 21 gunshot wounds, ten of them from the initial shotgun blast."

Note the 33.

Obviously, Malcolm X promoted some very controversial ideas, but in the context of the times, these are rather understandable. He did seem to become more enlightened after his pilgrimage to Mecca, and toned down his anti-white rhetoric. I'm no fan of the Islamic religion, but Malcolm was a very strong and effective civil rights leader, and was very influential for future movements.

The thing is, as far as I can tell, everyone fucking knows we were lied in some way-- I mean every adult with a brain. And many people are readily accept a full-on inside job conspiracy.

But no one either wants to, or seems capable, of doing anything significant about it. I guess that seems to be me, too. But part of it is the old problem of how to organize people into some productive action-- it's damn hard, and life is already damn hard, and god knows what kind of negative consequences could come down on you for really taking action. God knows there are some risks to speaking out or knowing about 9/11. Not to mention that there are actually ENDLESS crimes and issues that one can protest about, and it is almost impossible to get people to agree on the key issue to protest. I always thought 9/11 was so blatant and sickening, but by the time basically everyone realized this, 9/11 was old news. So it goes.

One odd thing is that I found an old high-school friend on Facebook, and he noted how he was just a few blocks away from the WTC when the first plane hit. I asked him by private message if he saw the second plane-- and he has been remarkably silent on FB for several weeks since then. Not sure what the deal is...

Electromagnetism and Conspiracy Issues -- "Alan Avalon"

Very interesting discussion with Jim Fetzer-- many things I hadn't heard before.

For instance, he brings up this fascinating bit about the center of the earth being molten due to ongoing fission of unstable elements-- and not so much from the initial hot formation event that is slowly cooling (which is typically taught in school). This concept brings a new meaning to the idea of the China Syndrome!

Note, I haven't listened to the whole show yet-- and it looks like he is veering strongly into Judy Wood territory. An additional worrisome bit is he mentions how he used to travel by air regularly for the military -- not something a regular enlisted man does. Plus, he started going on about the idea that the US has secret UFO technology, which is a standard denial for people covering who the real PTB are. Starting to sound like intel. He's clearly using a fake name. He has a very strong Minnesota accent. Fetzer says he knows him. Possibly, he's a prof at UMinn where Fetzer is?

UPDATE-- so have listened to the whole thing and thankfully there was no whole-hearted endorsement of Wood's beam weaponry, though Avalon definitely liked her book. Unfortunately, he does seem to support the ridiculous meme that the reports of high heat at ground zero were false. It does seems that Avalon has some military connection-- talks about SCIFs at the Pentagon, and says he has familiarity with that. The "funny" thing is that Avalon dances all around nukes-- talks about neutron bombardment, EMPs, using dirt to cover the ground at ground zero but never mentions nukes directly for what happened at the WTC. So it's a classic case of misdirection, that I've seen over and over in this regard.

The guy finishes by saying that he thinks 9/11 was really about destroying certain info at the Pentagon, and the WTC was kind of a red-herring. Thinks there was an EMP device at the Pentagon. All in all, an interesting show, in terms of the physics discussed but ultimately disappointing to see the same misdirection about nukes.

As he says, Newt Gingrich thinks grandiose thoughts. Today’s pitch to Florida’s Space Coast: a lunar base within the next eight years.

“By the end of my second term we will have the first permanent base on the moon and it will be American,” he said. According to Newt, the base would be used for “science, tourism, and manufacturing” and create a “robust industry” modeled on the airline business in the 20th century.

From there, Gingrich suggested moving towards a Mars mission by the end of the next decade. He proposed setting aside 10% of NASA’s budget in prize money for private research into interplanetary exploration.

This is all just pandering to Florida of course. I just wonder how long they will keep the charade up, that we can go to the moon...

The classic movie is about a rogue US General who starts a pre-emptive nuclear attack by sending nuclear bomb-laden B52s into Russia during the cold war.

If you haven't seen it, it is a must-see masterpiece.

I just watched it this morning, after not having seen it in 25 years or so. I was particularly interested if there was a 33 in it, since I have been keeping track of 33's in movies.

Despite many numbers being used throughout the movie, bombing codes and the like, I didn't see an overt 33. However, the was a very subtle 33 that was not even directly mentioned.

34 B-52 bombers were sent into Russia. There is a frantic attempt to recall the planes, and initially it is agreed that the planes' locations will be given to the Russians, who will then shoot them down. Finally, the recall code it found, and 30 of the planes were called back from the attack. It turns out that four planes were attacked by Russian defenses, and three shot down. The 34th plane was damaged by a missile, and cannot be recalled due to an inoperable radio. This 34th plane, commanded by Slim Pickens in a quintessential role, continues on, to deliver its nuclear bomb to a USSR nuclear base, thus detonating the so-called Doomsday Device, that destroys all life on the planet.

Thus, 33 planes from the mission never finish the mission. However, the critical 34th plane does break away, and starts doomsday.

This fits perfectly with what Anonymous physicist has written about, where 33 is symbolic of our evil, quarantined powers that be, and 34 is symbolic of a quarantine breakout, which likely involves nuclear destruction of the earth and destruction of humanity.

Thus, 33 planes do not complete the mission, but the 34th does, and starts the doomsday destruction of the planet, the quarantine breakout attempt by the evil PTB.

The numerology is subtle and brief within the movie, but an amazing verification of the 33/34 hypothesis.

A more minor but interesting point, in a kind of weird sub-theme, is how freaking DETERMINED the B52 crew is to deliver their nuclear bombs, and start the doomsday event, despite all sorts of things going wrong due to damage on the plane. It's like against all odds that this plane manages to drop it's bomb on the target, due to the "heroic" efforts of the crew and especially Slim Pickens' character. I wonder if this is just a dramatic plot device, or actually some sort of message about how determined the real PTB are, about destroying us and getting off the planet.

Conclusive Proof That UA93 Didn't Crash in Shanksville, PA

Furthermore, according to the NTSB animation reconstruction, the aircraft allegedly crashed in Shanksville at 10:03am(4). How can the aircraft possibly receive a message activating an audible signal in the airplane at 1410 (10:10am Eastern)? It can't if it crashed in Shanksville, it can if were in the vicinity of CMI. Finally, there is no possible way that an aircraft can receive a message from a remote ground station which is 500+ miles away. The range for remote ground stations is 200 miles, and that is only guaranteed above 29,000 feet(5).

In 1960, before the Apollo missions, Encyclopedia Britannica reported the neutral point to be 20,520 miles from the Moon. A Moon with 1/6 Earth's gravity should have a Neutral Point between 22,078 - 25,193 miles from the Moons surface. Yet after the Apollo missions, Time magazine July 25, 1969 said "At a point of 43,495 miles from the moon, lunar gravity exerted a force equal to the gravity of the Earth, then some 200,000 miles distant"* In 1973 Encyclopedia Britannica, gave a new neutral point distance of 39,000 miles. The problem with all of this is, a neutral point of 43,495 miles would make the moon with not 1/6th (16%) the Earth's gravity, but 64%. A moon with 64% of Earth's gravity would require way more fuel and power than was supposedly available in the Apollo missions.

Many military and former CIA officers work for Blackwater or related companies created to divert attention from their bad reputation and make more profit selling their nefarious services-ranging from information and intelligence to infiltration, political lobbying and paramilitary training – for other governments, banks and multinational corporations. According to Scahill, business with multinationals, like Monsanto, Chevron, and financial giants such as Barclays and Deutsche Bank, are channeled through two companies owned by Erik Prince, owner of Blackwater: Total Intelligence Solutions and Terrorism Research Center. These officers and directors share Blackwater.

One of them, Cofer Black, known for his brutality as one of the directors of the CIA, was the one who made contact with Monsanto in 2008 as director of Total Intelligence, entering into the contract with the company to spy on and infiltrate organizations of animal rights activists, anti-GM and other dirty activities of the biotech giant.

Contacted by Scahill, the Monsanto executive Kevin Wilson declined to comment, but later confirmed to The Nation that they had hired Total Intelligence in 2008 and 2009, according to Monsanto only to keep track of “public disclosure” of its opponents. He also said that Total Intelligence was a “totally separate entity from Blackwater.”

However, Scahill has copies of emails from Cofer Black after the meeting with Wilson for Monsanto, where he explains to other former CIA agents, using their Blackwater e-mails, that the discussion with Wilson was that Total Intelligence had become “Monsanto’s intelligence arm,” spying on activists and other actions, including “our people to legally integrate these groups.” Total Intelligence Monsanto paid $ 127,000 in 2008 and $ 105,000 in 2009.

No wonder that a company engaged in the “science of death” as Monsanto, which has been dedicated from the outset to produce toxic poisons spilling from Agent Orange to PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), pesticides, hormones and genetically modified seeds, is associated with another company of thugs.

Almost simultaneously with the publication of this article in The Nation, the Via Campesina reported the purchase of 500,000 shares of Monsanto, for more than $23 million by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which with this action completed the outing of the mask of “philanthropy.” Another association that is not surprising.

It is a marriage between the two most brutal monopolies in the history of industrialism: Bill Gates controls more than 90 percent of the market share of proprietary computing and Monsanto about 90 percent of the global transgenic seed market and most global commercial seed. There does not exist in any other industrial sector monopolies so vast, whose very existence is a negation of the vaunted principle of “market competition” of capitalism. Both Gates and Monsanto are very aggressive in defending their ill-gotten monopolies.

Although Bill Gates might try to say that the Foundation is not linked to his business, all it proves is the opposite: most of their donations end up favoring the commercial investments of the tycoon, not really “donating” anything, but instead of paying taxes to the state coffers, he invests his profits in where it is favorable to him economically, including propaganda from their supposed good intentions. On the contrary, their “donations” finance projects as destructive as geoengineering or replacement of natural community medicines for high-tech patented medicines in the poorest areas of the world. What a coincidence, former Secretary of Health Julio Frenk and Ernesto Zedillo are advisers of the Foundation.

Like Monsanto, Gates is also engaged in trying to destroy rural farming worldwide, mainly through the “Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa” (AGRA). It works as a Trojan horse to deprive poor African farmers of their traditional seeds, replacing them with the seeds of their companies first, finally by genetically modified (GM). To this end, the Foundation hired Robert Horsch in 2006, the director of Monsanto. Now Gates, airing major profits, went straight to the source.

Blackwater, Monsanto and Gates are three sides of the same figure: the war machine on the planet and most people who inhabit it, are peasants, indigenous communities, people who want to share information and knowledge or any other who does not want to be in the aegis of profit and the destructiveness of capitalism.

WISCONSIN - January 4 - Over the holidays, the United States Department of Agriculture announced its approval of a novel strain of genetically engineered corn, developed by Monsanto, purportedly being “drought tolerant.”

Despite receiving nearly 45,000 public comments in opposition to this particular genetically engineered (GE) corn variety (and only 23 comments in favor), the Obama administration gave Monsanto the green light to release its newest GE corn variety freely into the environment and American food supply, without any governmental oversight or safety tracking.

“President Obama and Secretary of Agriculture Vilsack just sent a clear message to the American public that they do not care about our concerns with genetically engineered food and their questionable safety, adverse environmental impacts, and detrimental effects on farmers, especially organic farmers,” says Mark A. Kastel, Senior Farm Policy Analyst with The Cornucopia Institute.

“This is just the latest in a string of approvals of genetically engineered crops, and it is clear that despite campaign promises of change from Obama, he has not had the courage to stand strong against the powerful agribusiness and biotechnology lobbies,” Kastel added.

In addition to its announcement approving Monsanto’s newest GE corn variety, the USDA also opened a 60-day public comment period for two additional petitions – one for Monsanto’s GE soybean containing higher levels of an omega-3 fatty acid, that does not naturally occur in soybeans, and the other from Dow AgroSciences for corn that has been genetically engineered to better resist the poisonous herbicide 2,4-D.

While the USDA attempts to assure the public that 2,4-D is safe, scientists have raised serious concerns about the safety of this herbicide, which was used as a key ingredient in “Agent Orange,” used to defoliate forests and croplands in the Vietnam War.

2,4-D is a chlorophenoxy herbicide, and scientists around the world have reported increased cancer risks in association with its use, especially for soft tissue sarcoma and malignant lymphoma. Four separate studies in the United States reported an association with chlorophenoxy herbicide use and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

"The concern is that, just like Monsanto's genetically engineered corn that is resistant to RoundUp™ (glyphosate) herbicide, the approval of a cultivar resistant to 2,4-D will cause an exponential increase in the use of this toxic agrichemical," Kastel stated.

Research by the EPA found that babies born in counties with high rates of 2,4-D application to farm fields were significantly more likely to be born with birth defects of the respiratory and circulatory systems, as well as defects of the musculoskeletal system like clubfoot, fused digits and extra digits. These birth defects were 60% to 90% more likely in counties with higher 2,4-D application rates.

The results also showed a higher likelihood of birth defects in babies conceived in the spring, when herbicide application rates peak.

In its petition, Dow AgroSciences states that 2,4-D is increasingly important for chemical farmers because of the presence of weeds that have developed resistance to glyphosate, as a result of the widespread use of Monsanto’s genetically engineered glyphosate-resistant crops.

When Monsanto introduced glyphosate, it was touted as a safer and less toxic alternative to herbicides like 2,4-D. Now, an emerging body of scientific literature is raising serious concerns about the safety of glyphosate as well.

“The concern that the use of GE crops, which are resistant to particular herbicides, leads to the creation of 'superweeds' is now shown to be valid and serious, as even the chemical companies now recognize and admit this is a problem,” says Kastel.

“In 2012 the USDA is proposing approving a new GE corn variety that is resistant to a different toxic herbicide, escalating the toxic treadmill in chemical-dependent agriculture,” said Jay Feldman, Executive Director of Beyond Pesticides. “This is nothing more than a band-aid solution to a serious problem, and will only give rise to more superweeds, more herbicide pollution in our environment, more herbicide poisoning, while likely leading to the need for even more toxic herbicides a couple of years down the line. This foolish circle has to end,” Feldman said.

Farm research groups like The Cornucopia Institute are also concerned with the impact of genetically engineered crops on organic farmers, whose organic crops are already at risk of contamination with Monsanto’s unnatural DNA, from pollen drift.

In its Environmental Assessment of the “drought tolerant” Monsanto corn, the USDA conceded that gene flow of corn pollen is likely to occur. It is well-established that corn pollen travels, and pollen from genetically engineered plants will contaminate natural corn plants.

“The irony, of course, is that organic fields and crops are much more drought tolerant, because common sense and field trials show healthy and biologically active organic soil retains moisture much better than tired and depleted soil on conventional monoculture farms, and organic crops are healthier and more robust than conventional crops,” said Charlotte Vallaeys, a researcher at Cornucopia.

“But Monsanto cannot profit from healthy soil and healthy organic crops, while they can profit from genetically engineering, patenting, and owning new life forms,” Vallaeys continued. “It’s unfortunate that the Obama administration is equally misguided by supporting Monsanto and Dow’s petitions and ignoring citizens' demand for an immediate end to approving these genetically engineered crops in our food supply.”

The newest genetically engineered soybean petitioned by Monsanto is one of the first to claim a public health benefit, since it has been engineered to contain higher levels of an omega-3 fatty acid, stearidonic acid.

“Genetically engineering a ubiquitous monoculture crop to contain higher levels of just one particular nutrient will not solve our public health crisis, and might even exacerbate it, since a healthy diet is about much more than simply increasing the levels of one particular omega-3 fatty acid,” said Vallaeys. “It’s another band-aid solution that will do little to address the root of the problem with our nation’s “nutrition” problem, which is people eating too many processed foods containing corn and soybean derivatives, and not eating a varied diet of nutrient-rich wholesome foods.”

The USDA surveyed 43 foods and compared their nutritional content in 1999 to original testing that took place in 1950. Half of the nutrients measured declined by 6 to 38%. "Industrial agriculture, as compared to organics, have relegated our diets to a lot of empty calories," Vallaeys added.

On the campaign trail in 2007, the President said that genetically modified foods should be labeled because Americans “should know what they are buying.”

Despite promises of change, Mr. Obama appointed former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack as USDA Secretary, who had gained notoriety in agricultural circles after being named Governor of the Year by the Biotechnology Industry Organization.

Obama subsequently appointed two pro-GMO agrochemical company lobbyists to powerful positions in his administration. Michael Taylor, a former Monsanto lobbyist, became food czar at the Food and Drug Administration. Islam Siddiqui, a lifelong pesticide lobbyist and GMO advocate, was appointed Chief Agricultural Negotiator.

These appointments revealed the tight grip that Monsanto and other biotech corporations have on elected officials, and raised further doubts regarding the promises for change by the current administration.

Adding insult to injury, the Obama USDA’s timing for announcing notices related to genetic engineering mirrors the Bush administration's approach of burying the news and actively discouraging public participation. The FDA declared GMO salmon was safe, on the Friday before the long Labor Day weekend in 2010.

Then the USDA made their highly controversial decision to deregulate GMO alfalfa during the busy holiday season of 2010. Their decision is being challenged by The Cornucopia Institute, Beyond Pesticides, Center for Food Safety and scores of other plaintiffs in federal court.

More recently, the announcement that Monsanto’s newest genetically engineered corn had been deregulated, and that Monsanto and Dow had petitioned for additional approval of GMO corn and soybeans, came the week between Christmas and the New Year Day holiday.

"When attempting to bury controversial news, it's not uncommon for the government to issue press releases on days when the public isn't paying attention and the news media is on vacation," noted Cornucopia’s Mark Kastel. "The Bush administration did the same thing when announcing that bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mad cow disease) had entered the domestic food chain."

U.S. European Command (EUCOM) has deployed to Israel a high-powered X-band radar and the supporting people and equipment needed for coordinated defense against Iranian missile attack, marking the first permanent U.S. military presence on Israeli soil.

More than a dozen aircraft, including C-5s and C-17s, helped with the Sept. 21 delivery of the AN/TPY-2 Transportable Radar Surveillance/Forward Based X-band Transportable (FBX-T), its ancillary components and some 120 EUCOM personnel to Israel's Nevatim Air Base southeast of Beersheba, said sources here and in Stuttgart, Germany.

Among the U.S. personnel is at least one representative from the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), though officials said the agency had little to no say in the deployment decision. MDA involvement has been confined to providing equipment and advice on technical aspects of its deployment, one official said.

The Raytheon-built FBX-T system is the same phased-array radar that was deployed to northern Japan with the U.S. Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) in 2006. The high-powered, high-frequency, transportable X-band radar is designed to detect and track ballistic missiles soon after launch.

Its ancillary gear included cooling systems, generators, perimeter defense weaponry, logistics supplies and dozens of technicians, maintenance specialists and security forces to operate and defend the U.S. installation.

EUCOM has repeatedly deployed troops and Patriot air defense batteries for joint exercises and Iraq-related wartime contingencies, but has never before permanently deployed troops on Israeli soil.

A EUCOM spokesman declined to comment. MDA officials referred to the U.S. State Department, which did not provide comment by press time.

An Israeli military spokesman said the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) enjoys longstanding strategic cooperation with all branches of the U.S. military.

"This cooperation is varied and comes in multiple forms, and it is not our practice to discuss details of our bilateral activities," he said.

Nevertheless, in previous interviews, U.S. and Israeli officials confirmed that the X-band deployment plan was approved in July, first by Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, and his Israeli counterpart, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi; and then by. U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

Modern liberalism is a mixture of two elements. One is a support of Federal power – what came out of the late 1930s, World War II, and the civil rights era where a social safety net and warfare were financed by Wall Street, the Federal Reserve and the RFC, and human rights were enforced by a Federal government, unions, and a cadre of corporate, journalistic and technocratic experts (and cheap oil made the whole system run.) America mobilized militarily for national priorities, be they war-like or social in nature. And two, it originates from the anti-war sentiment of the Vietnam era, with its distrust of centralized authority mobilizing national resources for what were perceived to be immoral priorities. When you throw in the recent financial crisis, the corruption of big finance, the increasing militarization of society, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the collapse of the moral authority of the technocrats, you have a big problem. Liberalism doesn’t really exist much within the Democratic Party so much anymore, but it also has a profound challenge insofar as the rudiments of liberalism going back to the 1930s don’t work.

Ron Paul’s stance should be seen as a challenge to better create a coherent structural critique of the American political order. It’s quite obvious that there isn’t one coming from the left, otherwise the figure challenging the war on drugs and American empire wouldn’t be in the Republican primary as the libertarian candidate. To get there, liberals must grapple with big finance and war, two topics that are difficult to handle in any but a glib manner that separates us from our actual traditional and problematic affinity for both. War financing has a specific tradition in American culture, but there is no guarantee war financing must continue the way it has. And there’s no reason to assume that centralized power will act in a more just manner these days, that we will see continuity with the historical experience of the New Deal and Civil Rights Era. The liberal alliance with the mechanics of mass mobilizing warfare, which should be pretty obvious when seen in this light, is deep-rooted.

What we’re seeing on the left is this conflict played out, whether it is big slow centralized unions supporting problematic policies, protest movements that cannot be institutionalized in any useful structure, or a completely hollow liberal intellectual apparatus arguing for increasing the power of corporations through the Federal government to enact their agenda. Now of course, Ron Paul pandered to racists, and there is no doubt that this is a legitimate political issue in the Presidential race. But the intellectual challenge that Ron Paul presents ultimately has nothing to do with him, and everything to do with contradictions within modern liberalism.

So, I posted something very mildly supportive on Ron Paul at Democratic Underground, and got SUSPENDED/BANNED from the board, for the first time in the 7 years I've posted there! This is despite that I've posted far more controversial things there, about 9/11, over the years. Really pretty disgusting they are acting this way.

Even though I have never voted for a Republican, I must say that in a general election, with Obama versus Paul-- if that could ever come to pass-- I could see voting for Paul.

Even though many of Paul's positions are repugnant to me, I am totally with him on civil liberties, the bloated military, the over-extended US empire and the thievery of the Federal Reserve.

I also think Paul is the only person who could shake up the DC system enough to possibly alter the terrible course we are on.

According to the Associated Press article, “Iowa GOP worried by hacker threat to caucus vote“, the Iowa State GOP committee is concerned that people who call themselves “Anonymous” will ‘hack’ the vote count during the tabulation of the 2012 Presidential caucus. Whether or not Anonymous is to blame is irrelevant. It could be a false-flag hacking event, in which Anonymous gets the blame for some other group’s nefarious activities. What is being proposed is that the results of the Iowa caucus will be tainted with scandal. In my opinion, if one particular candidate wins the Iowa caucus, then the State GOP committee will declare the ‘hack’ successful and discount the votes; that candidate is Representative Ron Paul.

In general, Anonymous, a leaderless group, has been seen as anti-establishment, pro-democracy, anti-corruption and pro-justice, from an individual liberty point of view. From a goose-stepping statist point of view, Anonymous is the scourge of the Internet.

Also, establishment players have already made noise about how a Ron Paul win would discredit his win. Chris Wallace said so much in some on-camera banter about how things may turn out in Iowa, at the pre-Fox debate interview in December.

The Fugue of Life

The fugues in Bach's Art of the Fugue-- particularly the first few, such as #4 here-- have a similar style, that recapitulates a person's life.

It starts out slow and simple, like childhood, then slowly more complexity is added by adding voices. The new voices echo the original theme, echoing the original life, but then spin off, in the flight, or fugue. When the third voice comes in, in the same notes as the first voice, there is a beautiful maturity, as when a child completes adolescence. Then the fourth voice can be a relationship, the fifth voice a child. The simple theme that started out so slowly is now very complex and busy, echoing the busy, hectic life of maturity. There are parts that are slightly cacophonic, parts that are sweet and parts that are rhythmic and urgent and progressive, these last sections reaching touching anti-climatic climaxes. The original theme runs through the piece, as a gentle reminiscence of childhood. Other themes weave in and out. Then eventually, the hurried phases of the vocal counterpoint slow down, and there is a form of unity at the end that slowly moves as one main voice, that eventually winds down to the sad, slightly sweet end. The end of the fugal life, the end of a person's life.

The interesting thing is that playing a fugue on the piano really feels like living a small life. The piece starts out very slow, and time goes by slow, but as the fugue gets more complex, time seems to go by so much quicker, much like mid-life when one is so consumed by everything going on-- even though from a more objective perspective, time is still moving at the same pace.

First I present my review of the 2011 printing of “Murder From Within: [Subtitle]: Lyndon Johnson’s Plot Against President Kennedy” by Fred T. Newcomb and Perry Adams.

The history of this book is that the authors began researching the JFK Assassination in the 1960s and by 1974 had written their book, that three publishers backed out of printing at the last minute. The authors then photocopied some 100 copies and mailed them to the US Senate and House leaders. From these, others made bootleg copies and more people were able to read it, in the ensuing years. (I had unsuccessfully tried for years to get a copy, but am disappointed now.)

For 1974, it was ahead of its time for revealing the Federal Govt involvement and cover-up in the Assassination. Other books have since supplanted it. Of course, the near totality of those other books deliberately deny what anyone can see in a decent version of the Zapruder film, that SS Agent Greer fired the fatal head shot that killed Kennedy. So in that sense it is still good; however it also contains much disinformation and omitted information, and has not been updated except perhaps for one or two things only.

Some of the fascinating claims made in this book regarding the assassination itself are that SS Agent Greer deliberately shot and tried to kill Texas Gov. Connally. And that Connally had a gun and shot back at the driver. Newcomb and Perry also wrote that the first shot in the plot was fired from the V-P’s car by that SS Agent/driver. And that this was to start the whole assassination and also caused everyone to turn toward the back as a distraction, while the PLANNED murder of President Kennedy was to be by the driver.

So there are many false statements interspersed with some good important facts in the book. I have made clear that while Greer definitely shot Connally, that was an accident, and indeed was the reason why Greer then brought the limo to a standstill! Their claim that Connally was deliberately shot is absurd. E.g., it is well know about the heated argument JFK and LBJ had the night before when LBJ tried to get his cohort Connally exchanged in the limos with Senator Yarborough. And also how Connally was involved in picking the precise route and speaking sites. Also I am sure that Greer doing the final deed was a contingency plan only, and was only needed as Clint Hill disobeyed orders and ran up to try to save JFK.

The book was a huge let down, as it did not have more detail on the witnesses who said they saw Greer shoot Kennedy. A disappointment, as this is what I bought the book for and expected to read. I do not know if this was excised from the 1974 version or if there never was more on that. The online sources, in this matter, have almost as much as is in the book on the witnesses who were near the limo or who overlooked it. Of course, these online sources got that from the earlier version of this book. But it seems that the authors only took the witnesses quotes from the Warren commission documents or had phone conversations with those witnesses. Nonetheless they were the first ones to point this out to the American people and the world.

Then despite having some 40 years to get the book typed and edited or proofread, it is printed with many errors. From its opening “Forward” [sic], to its missing illustrations (Figures) or mislabeling of some, to pages improperly ordered and numbered, there are so many errors herein. (A book can have a foreword, there is no noun called a forward.) But before I could get perturbed about that, I deduced the clever PsyOp with this new/old book. By not making (m)any changes, the new author/publisher, Tyler Newcomb makes it look like the original asserted that LBJ was the mastermind alone; when I believe that was not the subtitle in the original.

Curiously, there is very little to be found online, or in the book, on the biographies of the two authors. Fred Newcomb, now 82 or 83, and ill, was in a Hospital (his son had indicated elsewhere that it was a V.A. Hospital, not in the new book); and therefore he was in the US military. I wonder if he was in military intelligence like, JFK “researcher” James Fetzer. As I have many times explained, the entire industry of JFK Assassination authors, books, articles, museums, websites, forums, blogs, etc. are run by the intel agencies.

In communications with Fred’s son, Tyler Newcomb, the latter wrote that both he and his father believe that the whole assassination and follow up was the work of some 6-10 “rogue” people. This is one of the most obvious and stupid lies one can imagine. The book itself names more people than that, and all the circumstances indicate how widespread this all is. The book implicates Secretary of State Dean Rusk, Air Force people and many others.

And I have made clear to people how pervasive and massive secret society control of the USA —and the world is—and how far back and where it ultimately leads to. I had also wondered how, back in the 60’s and 70’s, extending to this day (regarding Fred, as Perry died decades ago), the two authors were not killed for stating that SS Agent Greer fired the fatal head-shot that killed President Kennedy. Just as with the writings of Medical Examiner, Dr. Cyril Wecht, the “rogue element:” palaver is put out along with elements of their story that are incorrect and perhaps ludicrous, and meant to destroy the truth from within. Just as the book’s title itself says!

2. Jean Hill - Jean Hill saw what happened too, but when she tried to bring up the subject of a gun being fired in the car, Senator Arlen Spector (a 33rd degree Mason) would change the subject or say "it's time for a cup of coffee."

3. Austin P. Miller - Texas Louisiana Freight Bureau, who stood on the railway overpass overlooking Elm Street was asked by Arlen Spector where the shots came from: His reply was "from right there in the car." Senator Spector just went on to the next question, never asking Miller any specifics. From: Warren Report, New York Times edition, p. 82.

4. Clinton J. Hill. Jacqueline Kennedy's bodyguard reports in Vol. II, pp 138-139 of the Warren Commission Volumes: "I jumped from the car, realizing that something was wrong, and ran to the presidential limousine. Just as I reached it, there was another sound. I think I described it in my statement as though someone was shooting a revolver into a hard object...it seemed to have some type of echo."

5. Hugh Betzner - Had picture published in Life magazine and was standing right next to the drivers side of the motorcade: He saw a gun in the hand of one of the secret service agents and heard a sound "like firecrackers going off in the car.”

Regarding the current JFK Assassination meme that LBJ was the sole mastermind, the book omits that LBJ threw himself to the floor of his limo at the outset, and thus in no way was in charge, as he feared he might be killed as well. And his later resignation also gives the lie to the nonsense that he was in charge of anything. LBJ was just another perp following orders. But certainly was integral to the plans of the PTB in killing Kennedy, in doing the War on Vietnam, and primarily in creating massive numbers of nuclear bombs and ICBMs. The latter being part of the hidden designs of those in ultimate control of Mankind.

At the end of the book, the authors actually make some decent proposals. They would like to see the elimination of both the Vice-Presidency and the SS (Secret Service). They cite the US Constitution and indicate that the Founders only wanted the VP to temporarily fulfill the duties of the Presidency, until an actual new President would be elected. They assert that taking over the Office of the Presidency was not in the Constitution. Somewhat of a moot point now, after the passing of the 25^th Amendment. They would like to see the Office of the V-P eliminated or certainly to not have that office be “next in line,” as that is too conducive to the assassination of a President. Of course, all that again begs the issue of total secret society control of the US Govt.

The authors wrote that the Secret Service should also be abolished, and that the President should be afforded the right to have his/her own protection. This would prevent the SS from killing (or facilitating the killing) of any more Presidents, as it is all too easy for them to do now. To those that are naïve, even Jackie when asked why she didn’t say what she knew said, “The Secret Service have my children.” Indeed, this book details the massive Secret Service “protection” that Gov. Connally was “afforded” in Parkland Hospital, with SS agents with machine guns even on the roofs at all times. Connally was a prisoner the book asserts until he parroted the lies the SS and the regime put out about the murder, cover-up and takeover.

This photo actually made it to the cover of the NY Times the next day. It was a bit cropped, but nearly all of it was published. Then for years, all books on the Assassination either left it out or printed it cropped so as to hide what is there. And to this day, to my knowledge, ALL books that print the full picture STILL do not mention what is there!

And that is once again the case with “Murder From Within.”

Now we clearly see that the lead car had first sped up well ahead of the JFK limo—when it was supposed to be directly in front. Then we see it has its break lights on. As 20 witnesses have stated the JFK limo came to a stop, so did this lead car. In that car were driver, Dallas Police Chief Jesse Curry, Secret Service Agent in charge of the route Winston G. Lawson, Secret Service Agent in charge of the Dallas office, Forrest V. Sorrels, and Dallas Sheriff Bill Decker who had ordered all his man not to protect the President or help with the route. Their vehicle was a closed one.

Then note the man we see in front of the back of the stopped lead car. No one ever mentions him. It appears that half of his body is above ground, and that perhaps half is in a sewer. The Secret Service were supposed to solder closed all manhole covers beforehand. Note that he is either holding a rifle, or a bazooka, or has a very long right arm and is pointing. This photo alone proves that the Secret Service, the Dallas Police and the Dallas Sheriff were involved in killing President Kennedy. And you can be sure with the full weight of the Federal Govt coming down on them if those in control of the Federal Govt were not calling the shots in Dallas, no local Police Chief would be part of a small plot.

Final verdict: Much of the upper echelon of the Federal Govt was in on the Assassination, as were the upper echelons of the Dallas Govt and Police Depts All part of Secret Society control of the USA and the world.

Step Two: Tell the president to veto.

The conference committee made changes to the bill to answer President Obama's concerns, not ours. The bill now leaves the president free to imprison or kill individuals without handing them over even to a military tribunal. The White House calls this "flexibility." The authors of the Bill of Rights called it tyranny.

Obama won't prosecute CIA torturers, Wall Street crooks, other corporate criminals, lawless war profiteers, or other venal high-level civilian or government officials.

Instead, expect him to sign into law (or at least tacitly approve) indefinite military detentions of US citizens allegedly associated with terrorist groups, with or without corroborating evidence.

Post-9/11, US freedoms and other democratic values dramatically eroded. Enactment of police state provisions in the FY 2012 National Defense Authorization Act comes closer to ending them entirely.

On December 5, the ACLU headlined, "Indefinite Detention, Endless Worldwide War and the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)," saying:

Enactment of this measure will authorize "the military to pick up and imprison people, including US citizens, without charging them or putting them on trial."

Secretly with no hearings, both Houses are rushing to complete a "joint version" before leaving for Christmas break. "Fundamental American values and freedoms are on the line." Given the stakes, they're perilously hanging by a thread.

On December 13, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) urged Obama to veto NDAA in its present form. Otherwise, he'll "be responsible for signing into law one of the greatest expansions of executive power in our nation's history, allowing the government to lock up citizens and non-citizens without the right to fair trials."

Indefinite detentions violate core democratic freedoms, including fundamental Bill of Rights ones already gravely eroded.

On November 27, 1941, Franklin Roosevelt issued Proclamation 2524, declaring December 15 Bill of Rights Day to commemorate its 150th 1791 ratification.

At the time, he hailed "America('s) charter of personal liberty and human dignity," including "freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and the free right to petition the Government for redress of grievances."

Although American freedom then was far less than he claimed, today it hangs by a thread and may pass entirely any time for any reason.

In response to global imperial wars, corporate favoritism, unbridled private sector criminality, and political corruption at the highest levels, causing economic crisis conditions at home, thousands began protesting nationwide for social justice.

In response, militarized police confront them violently as NDAA heads for enactment to stop anyone from challenging US hegemony and corporate power by throwing them indefinitely in military dungeons to rot.

Equity and justice are fast eroding entirely to advance America's imperium. On May 26, the House passed HR 1540, 322 - 96. Doing so took a giant step toward abolishing freedom entirely.

On December 1, the Senate's S. 1867 followed suit, 93 to 7. Both versions assure no one anywhere is now safe, including law-abiding US citizens.

Enactment means anyone anywhere, including US citizens, may be indefinitely held without charge or trial, based solely on suspicions, baseless allegations or none at all.

No reasonable proof is required, just suspicions that those detained pose threats. Under subsection (b)(1), indefinite detentions can follow mere membership (past or present) or support for suspect organizations.

Presidents will have unchecked authority to arrest, interrogate and indefinitely detain law-abiding citizens if accused of potentially posing a threat.

Constitutional, statute and international laws won't apply. Presidential diktats will replace them.

US military personnel will be authorized to arrest and indefinitely detain anyone globally, including US citizens. No one anywhere will be safe.

Due process, civil protections, and judicial fairness will be null and void. Presidents could order anyone arrested and imprisoned for life without charge or trial. Abuse of power will replace rule of law protections. It can happen in days.

Ahead of their holiday break, leaders from both Houses are meeting secretly to resolve final language differences before sending NDAA to Obama to sign.

Promising a veto, he lied. He broke every major promise made. This one's no exception at a time he can go either way, given enough congressional votes to override him.

Moreover, Senate bill sponsor Carl Levin said administration officials, in fact, lobbied against language excluding US citizens from indefinite military detentions without trials or due process. According to Levin:

"The language which precluded the application of Section 1031 to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved....and the administration asked us to remove (it) which says that US citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section."

"It was the administration that asked us to remove the very language which we had in the bill which passed the committee. (W)e removed it at the request of the administration....It was the administration which asked us to remove the very language, the absence of which is now objected to."

In other words, Obama wants US citizens indefinitely detained in military prisons whether or not charged. He fully supports police state repression. Only his disingenuous rhetoric says otherwise.

Earlier by Executive Order, he authorized indefinite detentions with or without military commission trials for persons designated national security threats. Intended specifically for Guantanamo detainees, it could be stretched to include anyone.

In addition, he authorized CIA operatives and Special Forces death squads to kill targeted US citizens abroad. As a result, they may be hunted down and murdered in cold blood for any reason or none at all.

Outspoken Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, a US citizen living in Yemen at the time, was killed for opposing Washington's imperium, not alleged or committed crimes. His murder comes perilously close to replicating assassinations at home, whether covertly or openly.

In fact, administration lawyers called US citizens legitimate targets if deemed national security threats, with or without corroborating evidence. As a result, indeed no one's safe, whether or not NDAA passes in its current form.

According to CIA counsel Stephen Preston and Pentagon lawyer Jeh Johnson, US citizens at war with America have no immunity. Executive branch officials, not courts, will decide guilt or innocence issues.

In other words, anyone voicing opposition to America's imperium risks being targeted for arrest, detention or assassination.

With regard to Obama's NDAA position, his White House November 17 Statement of Administration Policy said:

"The Administration supports Senate passage of (NDAA) for Fiscal Year (FY) 2012."

"Section 1031 attempts to expressly codify the detention authority that exists under the Authorization for Use of Military Force (Public Law 107-40) (the "AUMF"). The authorities granted by the AUMF, including the detention authority, are essential to our ability to protect the American people from the threat posed by al-Qaida and its associated forces...."

"Because the authorities codified in this section already exist, the Administration does not believe codification is necessary and poses some risk....While the current language minimizes many of those risks, future legislative action must ensure (against) unintended consequences that could compromise our ability to protect the American people."

Senate bill S. 1867, Section 1031, affirms the "authority of the armed forces of the United States to detain covered persons," including US citizens.

Section 1032 requires suspects held in military custody, outside constitutionally mandated civil protections, without habeas rights, due process, and other judicial procedures.

Obama may object to legislative language, not its intent. As a result perhaps, wiggle room wording changes may assuage his concerns, while leaving sweeping indefinite military detention authorization unchanged.

In other words, presidents henceforth may order anyone indefinitely detained in military prisons uncharged, including US citizens.

A Final Comment

Even before 9/11, Washington began militarizing police forces nationwide. Sophisticated weapons and training are provided, including military robots, M-16 assault rifles, helicopters, armored vehicles, grenade launchers, and other weapons previously used only by military forces.

In 1997, the so-called 1033 Program (formerly the 1208 Program) let the Defense Secretary "transfer, without charge, excess US Department of Defense (DoD) personal property (supplies and equipment) to state and local law enforcement agencies (LEAs)."

As a result, they've been supplied with land, air and sea vehicles, weapons, computer equipment, body armor, fingerprint equipment, night vision equipment, radios and televisions, first aid equipment, tents, sleeping bags, photographic equipment, and more.

In 2011 alone, about $500 million in military related hardware was supplied. Next year's amounts are expected to increase fourfold. Doing so coincides with OWS crackdowns.

More than ever, America is being militarized to quash popular social justice protests at a time equity and justice are fast disappearing. Moreover, military forces may intervene if local cops need help.

Post-9/11, police state terrorism was institutionalized. It's being hardened more than ever to crush dissent.

Constitutional, statute, and international law protections no longer apply. Planned tyranny will replace them, leaving no one safe anywhere henceforth.

It's a bill to dump over $650 billion into wars and aggressive weaponry, continue the slaughter in Afghanistan, ramp up the creation and use of drones, and expand U.S. military bases around the globe.

When these bills move through the Congress, they are so enormous and yet so routine that almost all attention is drawn to one or more peculiarly putrid or pretentiously benevolent little attachments. Either the bill simply must be passed because it contains hurricane relief or veterans aid or unemployment insurance or because it finally allows GLBT Americans to join in our crusades of mass murder. Or, alternatively, the bill desperately needs amending because it sanctions torture or lawless imprisonment or expands an especially hated war or an especially transparent investment in unwanted weaponry manufactured by some campaign donor. But the underlying insanity of the bill itself never makes it into the corporate conversation.

In the case of this latest National Defense Authorization Act, there has been a toothless rhetorical amendment passed asking the president to end his warmaking in Afghanistan in something less than three years if it's not too much trouble. But that positive measure has been absolutely overwhelmed in what little discussion of the bill exists by a section of the bill giving presidents and the military the power to lock you away without any of the process guaranteed you by the U.S. Constitution. Now, President Obama may veto the bill because he would prefer that section to be even worse than it is. He has expressed concern that it limits, rather than expands, his options. He should veto it because it rips out the heart of our Bill of Rights and grinds it into the dirt.

But a bill like this should not be passed simply because the latest erosion of our civil liberties is removed and the even worse un-codified understanding and practice is left to continue. A bill like this one should be rejected in its entirety. This bill kills human beings in large numbers, endangers us all through encouragement of foreign hostility, contributes to the development and proliferation of genocidal weaponry, creates massive environmental destruction, advances a foreign policy built around an unsurvivable energy policy, funds both sides of an unending Afghan occupation, funds prisons where we already hold many hundreds of men behind bars without charge or trial, and gives presidents de facto power to ignore our rights for the duration of a global war that has no end. And this bill destroys our economy through unfathomable wasteful spending in the midst of a manufactured deficit crisis and an actual humanitarian crisis at home and abroad.

Military spending is worse for job creation and retention than any other kind of spending or even tax cuts. Jobs is not the silver lining in militarism. There is a choice that confronts us between militarism or jobs, militarism or human services, militarism or a safety net for the ill and the elderly and the impoverished. We're dumping over a trillion dollars a year into "security" spending in "defense" and other bills combined, well over half of discretionary spending. The deficit "crisis" is not the creation of sick people getting old and multiplying without having had the decency to bribe their way into major government contracts or bailouts from the Federal Reserve. Single-payer health coverage, not cuts to Medicare, is the solution there. The deficit is not purely the result of the Obama tax cuts (sorry, Bush is gone now) or of the bad economy. There is a way to improve the actual economy by spending existing public dollars in different ways.

"NZ food bill to make growing food a government privilege rather than a human right"

The God-given human right to freely cultivate food is under attack in New Zealand (NZ) as special interest groups and others are currently attempting to push a “food security” bill through the nation’s parliament that will strip individuals of their right to grow food, save seeds, and even share the fruits of their labor with friends and family members.

In accordance with the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Codex Alimentarius scheme for global food control, the NZ Food Bill, if passed, will essentially transfer primary control of food from individuals to corporations under the guise of food safety. And unless massive public outcry and awakened consciences within the NZ government are able to put a stop to it, the bill could become law very soon.

According to NZ Food Security, a group working to protect the food freedom of New Zealanders, the bill will turn growing and sharing food into a government-granted privilege rather than a human right. It will also make it illegal to distribute any type of food based on the bill’s language. This includes seeds, nutrients, natural medicines, minerals, and even water — without expressed government permission.

You see, agribusiness giants like Monsanto want full control of the food supply, which means putting an end to small-scale agriculture systems that operate “off the grid,” so to speak. This is why they have worked so hard in places like the US to convert conventional, staple crop systems to genetically-modified (GM) ones that are continually reliant upon new seeds and chemical interventions.

Except, that I just looked at the bill and it says nothing about people growing their own food. The bill only seems to apply to people who sell food, and even then, there seem to be exemptions. So, this may be a classic case of misinfo, perhaps part of a psy-op to get people to distrust the government. Certainly, this law would place some new regulations on certain food growers, and I'm sure they don't like that. But I don't see the evidence for the over-arching claims of the piece.

In the past few weeks, I have listened to several interviews with "conspiracy experts" (e.g. Jay Weidner, Michael Tellinger, Michael Tsarion) posted on Youtube, hoping to learn something new. Instead the conversations devolve into a bunch of mumbo-jumbo crap about spirituality and enlightened humans and some stuff about how there is some huge event coming (2012-ish) that will change humanity, some sort of crisis, some major turn in the cosmic cycle, etc. It's all very vague and frustrating, perhaps it is mostly some type of psychological ploy to get you to buy their stuff that "explains" it all.

I have this nagging feeling that NOTHING major is going to happen at all. It will just be the same fucking crap-- the elites taking advantage of the rest of humanity, as well as lying to us, poisoning us, making us kill each other-- for the foreseeable future. No one is going to revolt to over-throw the elites. Nothing major will change. There will be some incremental political changes, some things will get better, some things will get worse. People will be born and live their lives and die, some in extreme poverty, most in moderate comfort.

Maybe part of this CHANGE! meme is the phenomenon of the internet, where there is so much news available and there is so much incredible documentation of everything that people feel like something is happening!!! And the other part of this is some natural tendency towards religion and to think there is something else. But while there may be some sort of "synchromystical" force that we don't really understand, personally I have a very hard time believing in the eternal soul concept.

But the bothersome thing is how often I have been hearing this type of spiritual conspiracism, particularly promoted by the "big guys". Apart from the insufferable vagueness, it is also illogical and unscientific. I prefer to stick to matters that can be explained and understood in relatively precise terms.

Sections 1031 and 1032 in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which the Senate is debating this week, would authorize the military to indefinitely detain suspected terrorists anywhere in the world — including U.S. citizens on U.S. soil — without charge or trial.

“I took the time, as we all should from time to time serving in this body, to re-read the Constitution of the United States yesterday,” Kirk said.

He then read sections of the Constitution pertaining to trials for U.S. citizens and treason. He also read from the Fourth Amendment, the Fifth Amendment, the Sixth Amendment, and Fourteenth Amendment.

These alterations include missing frames, such as immediately after SS Agent Greer kills Kennedy frames are missing that contained gun exhaust, the film is a dupe of itself—which was made to give the illusion of constant motion, when all eyewitnesses said Greer brought the limo to a virtual standstill. A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force, Master Sgt. Christopher DeWitt, said the authorities were aware of the strike and had sent a team to the district to investigate. He said the assistance force had not previously issued a news release on the deaths.

Zalmai Ayoubi, a spokesman for the governor of Kandahar, said that a NATO reconnaissance aircraft spotted five militants planting mines in the village of Siacha, in the Zhare district, on Wednesday. The plane targeted the insurgents, killing two and wounding a third, and then pursued the other two suspects as they carried their wounded comrade away.

“The plane chased them, the insurgents entered a street where children were playing and, as a result of its shooting, seven people have been killed, including six children, and two girls also have been injured,” Mr. Ayoubi said. The victims were members of two families.

Abdul Samad, an uncle of four of the children who were killed, disputed the government’s version of the attack. He said his relatives were working in fields near their village when they were attacked without warning by an aircraft.

His brother-in-law, Mohammad Rahim, 50, had his two sons and three daughters with him. They were between 4 and 12 years old and all were killed, except an 8-year-old daughter who was badly wounded, Mr. Samad said.

The Improbability of Piloting UA175

Officially, UA175 was piloted into the south WTC tower by a complete novice Boeing 767 pilot, Marwan al-Shehhi.

It was flown for the last few seconds of its existence at approximately 540 mph, and right before impact, the plane made a sharp bank to hit the south tower nearly dead on. The south tower was 208 feet wide, and the jet had a wingspan of 156 feet. There was therefore only about 50 feet leeway for a complete dead-on hit.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether a speed of 540 mph is even achievable near sea level with the type of turbofan engines that UA175 had. The official story thus holds that the plane was coming out of a "power dive", in order to reach this extreme speed. Nonetheless, 540 mph appears to be over the maximal operating velocity of a Boeing 767 at 1000 foot altitude.

The other issue is how capable Marwan al-Shehhi was of piloting a 767 to its target in the first place. The official story holds that once a plane is in the air, the only tricky part is landing, and that guiding it up and down, left and right, is not particularly hard. There is probably some truth to this argument, although one could see that an inexperienced pilot could easily lose control of the aircraft if there was too much maneuvering involved. Further, relatively easy piloting would only be applicable to ideal flying conditions-- not a life-or-death situation, where the plane was at an almost unmanageable speed. We are expected to believe that this amateur pilot was able to precisely aim the jet AFTER coming out of a stomach-churning, heart-stopping power dive.

Thus, the critical point remains that it is ridiculously improbable -- essentially impossible-- for an inexperienced pilot, under extreme duress, to steer a large jet plane, flying at or over maximal possible speed, to hit a very narrow target, within a few hundred foot altitude window.

Yet, people still believe the official story.

The Latest, Greatest Horrible Idea from Congress

The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world. Even Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) raised his concerns about the NDAA detention provisions during last night’s Republican debate. The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself.

The worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial provision is in S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which will be on the Senate floor on Monday. The bill was drafted in secret by Sens. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) and passed in a closed-door committee meeting, without even a single hearing.

I know it sounds incredible. New powers to use the military worldwide, even within the United States? Hasn’t anyone told the Senate that Osama bin Laden is dead, that the president is pulling all of the combat troops out of Iraq and trying to figure out how to get combat troops out of Afghanistan too? And American citizens and people picked up on American or Canadian or British streets being sent to military prisons indefinitely without even being charged with a crime. Really? Does anyone think this is a good idea? And why now?

The answer on why now is nothing more than election season politics. The White House, the Secretary of Defense, and the Attorney General have all said that the indefinite detention provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act are harmful and counterproductive. The White House has even threatened a veto. But Senate politics has propelled this bad legislation to the Senate floor.

But there is a way to stop this dangerous legislation. Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) is offering the Udall Amendment that will delete the harmful provisions and replace them with a requirement for an orderly Congressional review of detention power. The Udall Amendment will make sure that the bill matches up with American values.

In support of this harmful bill, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) explained that the bill will “basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield” and people can be imprisoned without charge or trial “American citizen or not.” Another supporter, Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) also declared that the bill is needed because “America is part of the battlefield.”

The solution is the Udall Amendment; a way for the Senate to say no to indefinite detention without charge or trial anywhere in the world where any president decides to use the military. Instead of simply going along with a bill that was drafted in secret and is being jammed through the Senate, the Udall Amendment deletes the provisions and sets up an orderly review of detention power. It tries to take the politics out and put American values back in.

In response to proponents of the indefinite detention legislation who contend that the bill “applies to American citizens and designates the world as the battlefield,” and that the “heart of the issue is whether or not the United States is part of the battlefield,” Sen. Udall disagrees, and says that we can win this fight without worldwide war and worldwide indefinite detention.

The senators pushing the indefinite detention proposal have made their goals very clear that they want an okay for a worldwide military battlefield, that even extends to your hometown. That is an extreme position that will forever change our country.

Now is the time to stop this bad idea. Please urge your senators to vote YES on the Udall Amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act.

Bush and Blair found guilty of war crimes for Iraq attack

A tribunal in Malaysia, spearheaded by that nation’s former Prime Minister, yesterday found George Bush and Tony Blair guilty of “crimes against peace” and other war crimes for their 2003 aggressive attack on Iraq, as well as fabricating pretexts used to justify the attack. The seven-member Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal — which featured an American law professor as one of its chief prosecutors — has no formal enforcement power, but was modeled after a 1967 tribunal in Sweden and Denmark that found the U.S. guilty of a war of aggression in Vietnam, and, even more so, after the U.S.-led Nuremberg Tribunal held after World War II. Just as the U.S. steadfastly ignored the 1967 tribunal on Vietnam, Bush and Blair both ignored the summons sent to them and thus were tried in absentia.

The tribunal ruled that Bush and Blair’s name should be entered in a register of war criminals, urged that they be recognized as such under the Rome Statute, and will also petition the International Criminal Court to proceed with binding charges. Such efforts are likely to be futile, but one Malaysian lawyer explained the motives of the tribunal to The Associated Press: “For these people who have been immune from prosecution, we want to put them on trial in this forum to prove that they committed war crimes.” In other words, because their own nations refuse to hold them accountable and can use their power to prevent international bodies from doing so, the tribunal wanted at least formal legal recognition of these war crimes to be recorded and the evidence of their guilt assembled. That’s the same reason a separate panel of this tribunal will hold hearings later this year on charges of torture against Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and others.

Internet Censorship in China

I haven't posted for a while as I was on a business trip to mainland China. The trip was very interesting and I was more impressed with the place than I expected. One pretty interesting thing was to see what internet sites worked there. I had internet access, but couldn't access certain sites. The sites that were blocked just gave error messages or never loaded, there was no explicit message saying blocked.

A Children’s Treasury of American Cops Brutally Attacking Citizens

How did America’s heavily militarized security guards for the 1% spend the work week? Oh, just pepper-spraying sitting students in the face, macing old ladies, stomping peaceful protesters, yanking women around by their ponytails, destroying libraries and bloodying the faces of America’s citizens. You know, what they’ve dreamed of doing for decades.

Remember the fat, smug face under that helmet and behind that ridiculous mustache in the picture above. This happened yesterday at UC Davis, a California college in a delightful, sustainable little town between San Francisco and Sacramento — the kind of place earnest liberals move to, when they have kids, so they can all ride around on the town’s famous network of bike paths. It’s a well-off town, mostly, and it takes quite a lot of tax money to keep a bunch of vicious thugs overfed and dressed like junior Darth Vaders with their portable hard-ons, on the off-chance some college kids might one day peacefully sit outside to protest this nation’s revolting descent.

One scene, one town. How many of these scenes have slipped by during these very busy weeks of protests and cop attacks? Up the I-5 in Portland, the stereotypical Brooklyn of the Pacific Northwest is apparently home to an absolutely insane paramilitary gang of thugs who cannot contain their glee at finally being able to go batshit on the people of Portland, with truncheons.

The End of the Internet

Despite all the many contradictions in what they say, and their general idiocy, support for laws for the govt to be able to shut down large parts of the internet on a whim seems to be growing.

There’s suddenly a whole lot of “bipartisan support” for a supposed anti-piracy law that will actually let the U.S. Government force American Internet providers to shut down all access to any website immediately. Why might that be a popular idea, in Congress, right about now? And why are these anti-government Republicans like Congressman Lamar Smith of Texas behind such a heavy handed Big Brother off-switch on the entire Internet? And why is Joe Biden apparently strongly against such legislation, even though the Obama Administration supports it fully? Oh, right, because Biden is talking about how other countries shouldn’t do what the United States is about to do.

The conveniently rare bipartisan supporters of the SOPA/Protect IP censorship bills claim it’s to protect Republican interests such as “Hollywood movie studios” and “Hollywood media companies,” but in fact the “Protect IP” and “SOPA” bills actually let the government order any website accused of illegal distribution of intellectual property to be shut down by all American Internet service providers. Hey, is there a Kuwaiti guy putting a spam link to his Russian movie download site in the comments of, say, OccupyWallSt.org? Well just shut down OccupyWallSt.org, it’s that easy.

Or any anti-govt or conspiracy site, obviously. At least Google and Facebook are against the law, for now...

I'd heard of the guidestones before, I think as a rock band. But I never heard of the actual stones before. There is of course no shortage of conspiracy theorizing about the stones, and their message.

33 of the Day: Police Clear Zuccotti Park of Protesters

The police commissioner, Raymond W. Kelly, said that nearly 200 people had been arrested, 142 in the park at 50 to 60 in the streets nearby. Most were held on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, among them City Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez, a Democrat who represents northern Manhattan. He was with a group near the intersection of Broadway and Vesey Street that was attempting to link up with the protesters in the park. The group tried to push through a line of officers trying to prevent people from reaching the park.

The operation in and around the park struck a blow to the Occupy Wall Street movement, which saw the park as its spiritual heart. The sweep was intended to empty the birthplace of a protest movement that has inspired hundreds of tent cities from coast to coast. On Monday in Oakland, Calif., hundreds of police officers raided the main encampment there, arresting 33 people.

Just two days before a scheduled visit from former Vice President Dick Cheney, the Miller Center at the University of Virginia announced on Monday that Cheney would be postponing his visit to talk about his new book, “In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir.” Originally, Cheney had been scheduled to visit with his daughter, Liz Cheney, who co-authored the book with her father, but that later became a solo visit from the former VP.

According to Miller Center Director of Communications Kristy Schantz, Cheney postponed his visit for "personal reasons" and plans to reschedule sometime early next year. Schantz said the last minute cancelation [sic] had nothing to do with a planned protest outside the Miller Center, or a request from local anti-war activist David Swanson to local government and police officials that Cheney be arrested for "conspiracy to torture."
