Are Physicists Shortening the Lifespan of the Universe by Observing Dark Matter?

Thank you Spooked for posting these links on the “big pictures” of Cosmology and the “Theory of Everything.”

You are right not to worry about the “scare” that the 1st article seems to want to bring about. Several things in that regard from this physicist. First that article seems to omit that the time scale for cosmic actions due to “dark energy,” if it exists at all, is usually thought to be on the scale of billions of years. Indeed, other recent work by other astrophysicists indicates that “dark energy” itself may be an incorrect construct. See this link

http://space.newscientist.com/article/dn11498-is-dark-energy-an-illusion.html

Then I might add the following. My own knowledge on something overlooked in the article. Namely that others have been observing the Universe, including any “dark energy”--if that construct should turn out to be valid. Many enlightened scientists believe there must be many other advanced civilizations that would have made such observations for eons, and it did not bring about “an end to our Universe.” I, and others including Michael Tsarion, Zechariah Sitchin, von Daniken, have also detailed sufficient proof that advanced (and immensely evil, IMO and Tsarion’s) advanced beings created us thousands of years ago, and have been quarantined here ever since by more advanced beings. They too would have likely made such observations. But even if one is not ready to absorb the evidence of this, many scientists believe there must be many advanced civilizations in our 14 billion year old Universe. So for all these reasons, this is not something anyone should be worried about, and it is interesting that a British MSM element wants to plant this.

Then RE the new “simpler” theory of everything by the “surfer dude/Physicist,” Dr. Lisi. This, at present, seems to be a fascinating, mathematical model. However, he says his model, as opposed to String Theory, makes predictions for the masses of new particles. So we may soon know if his theory is the real deal, or just pleasing math. But one thing I uncovered is curious. While the media is portraying him as “penniless,” he received grant money from a foundation. There usually is little or no expense involved in doing such theoretical physics (as opposed to experimental physics). So maybe something doesn’t fit here?

Damn, spooked, sometimes anon commenters drop by with the most cogent thoughts.
