Nuclear Double-Speak and Nuclear Truths

Great post here from a blog called Zaius Nation:
"Iran was dangerous, Iran is dangerous, and Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon," Bush told a White House news conference. iht.com

Hello!?!? Has everybody forgotten that Bush has already given the secrets of building an atomic bomb not only to Iran, but to every evil empire in the world? I remember when this story first broke. It's lifespan in the news cycle lasted from Friday afternoon to a Saturday morning. Supposedly the story was dropped because it was "unfair" and "too partisan" to run it because of the upcoming election.

A little over a year ago Bush put up a website that contained information that was captured in Iraq. Amongst this treasure trove the administration accidently overlooked part of the information that contained all of the secrets needed to build an atomic bomb. The website was called "Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal", which is of course no longer online. The damage is already done, however. Every intelligence agency in the world is constantly watching the White House website like a hawk. There can be no doubt that the nuclear secrets are now practically in the public domain.

The New York Times called the material a "nuclear primer' because it included about a dozen documents in Arabic that contained "charts, diagrams, equations and lengthy narratives about bomb building that nuclear experts who have viewed them say go beyond what is available elsewhere on the Internet and in other public forums. For instance, the papers give detailed information on how to build nuclear firing circuits and triggering explosives, as well as the radioactive cores of atom bombs." The fear was that these documents would give Iraq's nuclear secrets to Iran and thus aid the Iranian WMD program. Wikipedia

So once again, all the blustering about Iran getting the knowledge to build nuclear weapons is just a ruse, pure and simple-- and I suspect the blather about Iran getting "the bomb" is like-wise a diversion.

Back in the 70's a kid in Massachusetts designed a nuclear bomb from library books and information. He turned it in for a Physics paper and was promptly picked up and interviewed by NRC folks.

You are a dumbshit - even dumber than normal - if you think anything Bush put out (yeah...I can see Bush sitting down in front of his computer and uploading pdf files) is anything a nuclear physicist, Iranian or anywhere, hasn't seen before or is not aware of.

You are so fucking stupid my sides hurt from laughing. Using Wikipedia as a reference just shows how fucking ignorant and stupid you are.

1) if that kid did nothing special, why did the NRC visit him?

2) if the info on the Whitehouse website was so harmless, why did they pull it?

3) why did Bush talk about being worried about Iran having simple *knowledge* to build a bomb if the info was so easily obtained?

4) I never said Bush personally uploaded the files, why even bring that up?

5) I didn't use wikipedia as a reference, the original blog post did, but in any case, wikipedia is a fine source for general info, for the most part

A somewhat more astute reader would understand that this post points out hypocrisy in the administration's message, not super duper secret info.

"A little over a year ago Bush put up a website...."

You are indeed an asshole of the finest kind and a liar to boot. But I repeat myself.

"Bush" is short-hand for his administration, dipshit. That is common practice.

Nor were those my words, if you can understand the concept of quoting.

I could tell from over on DU that you were a bit of a nutcase but I didn't know how much till I came here.

Then say "the Bush Administration". Be specific.

And when you quote someone else in a favorable and supportive manner, as far as I'm concerned you might as well as have said those same words.

So fuck you, asshole.
