The End of the Internet?

This is VERY disturbing:
Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP's all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These 'other' sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet.

I call absolute BullShit.

If it walks like an unsubstantiated Internet rumor, talks like an unsubstantiated Internet rumor, looks like an unsubstantiated Internet rumor, and is wearing a "Hello. My name is: Mr. Unsubstantiated Internet Rumor" sticker stuck to its lapel, then what do ya suppose it most likely is?

When there's a SHRED of evidence regarding this doom & gloom rumor from a most obscure website I've never heard of, come wake me. I'll be poolside.

it could happen.
certainly the internet as it is now must be a thorn in the side of the PTB - why wouldn't they take steps to clamp down on it as they have the regular mcmedia?

TELUS was never owned by Verizon. It is merely the result of a 90s merger between BCTel & AGT! Get your facts straight!
