The Great Palin Experiment

When I first heard the news, I thought McCain picking Palin was a losing choice. Then for a while it looked like it might work to energize the campaign. But now, it is clear-- she's a disaster:

I guess the only thing Palin is still good for is to excite the religious fundies who seem to control several key voting machine companies, and she may give them reason to fix the vote. But now in general, McCain and Palin are both blowing it so badly, I'm not sure the election will even be close enough to fix without it being too obvious.

UPDATE: So, McCain did nothing constructive at the big White House meeting. And apparently, when Barney Frank brought up MCain with Republicans, they winced.

I'm really not clear how anyone but a complete ignoramus or complete psychopath could vote for McCain-Palin.

All publicity is good. Ms. Palin has a bright future whether she chooses to remain in politics or pursue even more fame and a great fortune in the private sector.

Sarah owes McCain. Big time.

P.S. Piper Palin has the best prospect (of the Palin kids) for capitalizing on the tremendous amount of positive PR she has gained in the past month and will continue to gain in the future.
