An Appeal to Reason on Torture Prosecutions

It's really hard to know what exactly motivates the media pundits who have decried any prosecution of Bush officials for torture.

I imagine some of them are CIA or other intel, and clearly have an interest in protecting these criminals. Another, not mutually exclusive possibility, is that they are sick fucks who have really rationalized the idea was torture was worthwhile and think that it shouldn't be illegal. I imagine some of the media fucktards are just going along with these other fucktards due to peer pressure.

But if there ARE any media pundits who are honest-- or anyone else who is against the idea of Bush officials being prosecuted for torture, there is a point that should be considered.

Isn't it quite likely that Obama will see the Bush precedent, and take the opportunity to have his administration commit even WORSE war crimes? What would stop him, since there apparently is no penalty for committing war crimes as an American?

The lack of Bush war crime prosecutions is not going to be the end of this episode in our history-- I fear it is only the beginning of a very ugly time. But torture prosecutions could change everything!

Obama will do whatever is most expedient for a given strategy. If that includes authorizing or ordering the commission of acts which sane people would classify as war crimes, he'll rationalize just like his predecessors and overseas partners.

Where is Billy "We need a Revival in this country" Graham when we need HIM? Franklin doesn't have the star power of his charismatic father.
