150-200 More U.S. Bank Failures?

81 banks have failed so far in 2009.

Granted, most of these are small banks, but these are eye-popping numbers-- and shows this financial crisis still has a ways to go. It's amazing things aren't worse.

There would seem to be some major consolidation going on, with the big banks eating up lots of the small local banks.

"this financial crisis still has a ways to go"

The term "financial crisis" is a meaningless description. It's already over for some people (e.g.
banksters). For former owners of small businesses that will never re-open, it certainly does still
have "a ways to go".

Get my point?

I suppose. Do you prefer "depression" or "deep recession"?
