Anyone have any good ideas?

To help deter convenience store robberies, allow their operators to lease police cars that are no longer deemed fit to be safely driven for patrol duty.

The idea is that for a nominal fee, a police car would be left parked in the parking lot of such stores. The high visibility of a police car is more than enough to deter all but the most fearless criminals.

now that seems like a very good idea!

my suggestion: try to be prepared for the worst.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated..

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million..

USA buys 14 million + guns in 2009

In all cases, defenseless people (dissidents) were rounded up, so not a matter of defense against petty criminals, right?

The people have no chance to match the super-high-tech (paid for by the people) of the rounder-uppers.

Which is the worst threat?

ya the un-armed dissidents have been eliminated and frankly even an armed dissident would be easily eliminated at this point but if there is maybe no more water supply nor food supply there will certainly be a huge army of homeless/hungry/gang-bangers/etc. marching over the hill towards your home - if that happens you will probably wish that you have a good working fire-arm with plenty of ammo.
also it might be a good idea to store some canned food and bottled water etc.

A buddhist monk said to me many years ago: "You Americans are funny, always wondering what to do now, maybe you should contemplate instead on how you go here first, and then maybe a path will emerge from that."

Yesterday I tried to leave the U.S. to go to Canada to go to Alaska and disappear because, you know, it's basically over.

Thought it would be easy. But nooooo---homeland security, canada customs had other ideas. They said the U.S. told them anyone trying to go to Alaska now had to be some sort of dissident..so detain them. Four hours, four interrogators, both vehicles ripped apart. All papers photographed. Computer downloaded to god know where.

Also it seems Canada is in some sort of state of emergency as the parliament is shut down by the Queen so that hearings on Canada's complicity in torture, etc in Afghanistan cannot leak out to the queen's loyal vassals. There is no veneer of equality here, ruthless class war by the rich is the rule. I think of the interrogators as tory dobermans.

If I show up suicided, I did not do it--if anybody cares.

But I digress. I think the whole idea of architects and engineers asking for new hearings, and suing NIST for treason, is all fine and all, but it really misses the point.

If you trust your science, if you trust your calculations, you know, and you can help others to know, what really happened. It is right there, right there in plain sight.

The point is, why? Why then, why there, who had the means?, the opportunity?

What does it say that no media outlet, no politician, states the obvious?

Is it not clear the super right, even though very tiny in size, will resort to anything to maintain control, power.

Polls show overwhelming majorities in Europe and the U.S. oppose war in Iraq, Afghan, but the killing goes on and on?

Is there any free speech anymore?
Is there voting any more?

Just how is our situation that different than the poor folk rounded up to live in the warsaw ghetto?

The people in the ghetto who were smart saw what was happening and began to warn the others. But many of the others said, you have an active imagination, you are so negative, such a downer, how does your wife put up with you?

50 gal drum (put it under the downspout) or even a cistern is better than "bottled water".

They (morons) reap what they sow.

This has been coming since WWII or before.

My documents, MY space, MY 7000 lb GM ranabout, MY, MY, MY, as they slide into the abyss.

Strength is in numbers, not in MY.
