The Obama Conundrum

Medea Benjamin v. President Obama: CodePink Founder Disrupts Speech, Criticizing Drone, Gitmo Policy

It's truly bizarre how Obama really seems to have a conscience-- he specifically acknowledges that Medea Benjamin has a legitimate point about Guantanamo and drones, but at the same time, with all his nice words, he really hasn't changed anything.  It's either that he is truly powerless here, being held hostage by greater forces, or he is such a psychopath that he can coldly continue doing these things he acknowledges are evil. Or a weird mix of the two.

Spooked, you are aware, aren't you, that the intel agency-created entity that now occupies the Oval Office had its "conscience" cauterised, MKUltra-style, decades ago. And all its SEALED RECORDS must stay inaccessible for decades to come, lest the grotesque reality become even marginally visible to the clueless "Obot" coterie of true believers/supporters and presidential functionaries.

Yes, I know it seems the entity's warmongering controllers (and even they are on a compartmentalised, need-to-know basis) are currently undergoing a hegemonic/stylistic shift in their Israel-ified, ongoing quest for total-spectrum dominance of the globe. Hence the entity's "end-of-the-GWOT" speech last week.

But the controllers' goals haven't changed, and even this promised (and naively welcomed by lefties) tactical shift is likely more cosmetic and theatrical than foundational and functional. Witness the "bad cop" screeds and badgering by war-loving Republican oafs on the Sunday talk shows. And then check out whether the presidential "good cop" actually does shut down the drones, close Gitmo, call back the troops, cease aiding the "rebel" death squads, and use his party's Capitol Hill clout to repeal the Patriot Act, the NDAA 1&2, the Military Commissions Act, the AUMF and the moth-eaten Espionage Act.

Fat chance... and a mighty cool day in Hades to boot.
