Mohamed Atta: psychopath?-- a scenario for 9/11

Daniel Hopsicker claims that Mohamed Atta, the "9/11 ringleader and hijacker pilot of flight 11" was a PSYCHOPATH. He says this explains how Atta could have flown a plane into the WTC, committing a horrendous act of mass murder.

Atta may well have been a psychopath, but how many psychopaths are suicidal in this way?

And even if Atta was a suicidal psychopath, is it really credible that he could recruit 18 other suicidal psychopaths (or at least three other suicidal psychopath pilots) to join him in the attacks?

I really don't think so.

But then again, maybe Atta was an incredibly angry man, and knew a bunch of angry young men, and they all wanted to go out in a blaze of "glory". It's possible.

There's just something not right with the story. Atta has all the earmarks of being a highly trained intelligence operative. Do people like this normally commit suicide in a spectacularly destructive fashion?

One scenario that is conceivable to me is that Atta was framed to participate in the highjackings on 9/11, and that he knew he was being set-up, and double-crossed the US by slamming his airplane into the WTC. His hijacker associates did the same.

I am thinking the most likely explanation for 9/11 is that the highjackers were set-up in some way, they were to participate in the highjacking wargames going on, but rather than get caught as they were supposed to do, they decided to commit mass murder.

This certainly doesn't explain everything, but it would explain some of the peculiarities of the highjackings. Possibly the stewardesses and passengers were also playing along, thinking it was a "mock" hijacking. This could account for some of the oddities of the phone calls.

Possibly the airlines pilots did much of the flying, as they were part of the exercise. The hijackers may have only taken over the controls of the planes at the last minute.

This could explain the WTC hits and flight 93. It doesn't really explain what happened at the Pentagon. The Pentagon hit was clearly targeted very specifically. It's not clear how the hijackers would have done this. However, it is possible some sort of American Airlines remote-control drone hit the Pentagon, and flight 77 was shot down somewhere in the Rockies.

Clearly this is a working model. The main test is how well it holds up with the facts that we know about 9/11.
