The ABC/CNN/FOX Second Hit "Live Shot": Scene Sequence

(All screenshots taken from here.)

View of the burning North tower from a helicopter:

Zooming in on North tower, the copter also moves north, South tower starts to get hidden by North tower:

Now a close-up on the North tower:

Now, the South tower is completely hidden by the North tower. Was this intentional positioning?

Oh my god! A plane veers into view!
(in actuality, the chopper should have seen the plane coming from a way off, yet the camera never moves, the plane just pops into the field)

Oh, that's boring, let's cut back to the North tower burning:

D'oh! There's an explosion, let's cut back!

Aftermath:

A little strange, overall. The biggest tip-off to weirdness is how we never see the plane hit the tower, but only a plane come into view, then a cut away, then apparently the South tower explodes.

Keep in mind this was the only "live" shot of the event, and the feed was carried by the three networks, ABC/CNN/FOX.

Given that at least 30 videos cameras (supposedly) caught the plane hitting the South tower-- what are the odds the one "live shot" would not really show this at all?

what's up with the 3rd and 6th stills? (closeups)- see those two streamers of black smoke, when the camera zooms back out they are not there - does that mean they were cut in from a different timeline rather than just zooming in/out? why would they feel that they would have to do that?

excellent point, James. There may be some continuity problem with their shots. It does suggest they had separate footage they were cutting in...

oh you said it already in your post - boring! -

the studio guys: "why is chopper4 just sitting there filming the same spot? make it do something!"

pretty sneaky of the terrorists to hit the south tower while chopper4 was focusing on the north hit and the bored studio guys were just so bored that they had to cut to an earlier clip.

exactly, James.

also, perhaps it goes without saying, but if they uploaded the incoming plane image as a CGI into the video, when they cut away to the earlier close-up, then show the explosion-- they don't have to worry about getting the timing just right on the fly. They can take time to correct it. Indeed, a few minutes later, they show a continuous clip of the plane and the explosion, making me wonder if they had to fix it up before they showed it.

Yo Spook! Does ol Jimmy Ha get paid for these posts? I mean...he *hasta* get something aside from the satisfaction of reading his own words and the approving "cluck clucks" from you.

If so, *I* want some of that scratch!

I'm just sayin'....

James-- I just realized that cut-away shot is of the EAST face of the north tower, and thus must come from an entirely different camera, since the helicopter that got the live shot was looking at the west face of the towers. So this is still inexplicable-- to switch shoots like they did.
