Ugly Times
These are ugly times for a number of reasons, of course, but it seems the Super Bowl commercials were geared to setting a violent tone for popular culture.
(Although I have to say I got a good chuckle out of a few of these ads --in particular a couple of the Bud Light ones and the Career Builder.com ones).
Overall, it is clear there was an ugly tone to the ads.
And we all know how critical Super Bowl ads are for popular culture!

go team!
Did you notice the scary faces in any of these ads and that the number 11 kept cropping up?
I'm sure that the ad makers just took a camcorder and pressed record for 30 seconds to make their spots. I doubt they even did more than one take. It's just unthinkable anyone in the advertising agenencies would ever put in any little subliminal messages.
You think they hire psychologists and graphic artists? Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper and simpler to just pay some college kid from youtube to record something? Why would they hire animators?
Keep it Simple, Stupid. Advertising is no different from any other 30 second video on you tube. It's just seen by millions of people alround the world. I'm sure they don't have any technology that they didn't cover in your Psych 101 class at the community college.
