Swine Flu Outbreak

While conspiracies are obviously possible here, I think it's a little early to push the panic button. At least for now, the virus hasn't killed anyone in America, nor has it really spread here (yet). Why it has been so lethal in Mexico is an interesting question-- but probably relates to the higher number of people that have been infected there. Possibly, hopefully, the virus is getting attenuated as it spreads from human to human. But certainly, this virus could be bad, and for now it will have the effect, in the news, of pushing torture to the side. Ironically, for all the alarms about "bird flu", we're getting hit with something related, but clearly different.
