Coalition Begins Major Afghan Offensive
Largest Push Against Taliban Since the 2001 Invasion


An American, British and Afghan force swept into the city of Marja to destroy the insurgency’s largest haven.
Since we're destroying a whole city, probably a lot.

UPDATE: as expected, here are some civilian deaths that they are at least reporting. According to this article, the attack is not going as smoothly as planned.

THEY have effectively, by arrest, prosecution, conviction and resulting punishment - destroyed 39 million lives in this country alone, since the War on (some) Drug Users began in earnest during the Nixxon
era.

Even Nazi Germany only destroyed 20 million Russian lives during WW2.

According to the US side, 27 Taliban killed, two foreign combatants.

But a rocket hit a house killing at least 12 innocents. (Reported from Kabul. Wait for the real count.)

In Mardscha were found about 1000 militants, against 15,000 British, Amis, Afghans, Canadians, and Estonians.

Observers said that every ten minutes, mines exploded, which are remotely controlled.

According to a Taliban report, 10 militants killed and about 192 of the invaders.

Obamber's Afghan strategy: We are forced to proceed with an escalating military operation.

The Taliban continue to maintain that they are only ready to come to the peace table when the foreigners are gone.

The location is major trading region for Opium.

In taz.de today (Feb. 15):

Great Offensive "Operation Muschtarak" is on schedule.

"The region around Helmand Province is totally under the control of the mixed troop band." according to General Aminullah Patiani.

Hillary Clinton:

"Afghanistan can expect a long term support. We will not leave them stranded."

You can believe that.

Still no one has explained how all this reduces war on terror or war on drugs. After all, the US switched sides, fickle.
