ok i see the boy's sweater with APOLLO 11 USA but i don't see how kubrick might be implying that the moon landing was fake.
maybe he was cheer-leading what he thought was a real occurrence.
In the movie, the key is room 327, which symbolizes the moon, and at one point, someone says that nothing real happens in there; plus the whole horror starts with that room. I think the idea that Kubrick was coerced into helping NASA fake the moon landing footage, and regretted it, and he was confessing in this film, makes a lot of sense if you watch the film.

and have you ever seen the movie 'capricorn one', about a fake mars landing?
