Electronic Vote Fraud Is Still A Problem

One of the early conspiracies I delved into on this blog back in real time was the apparent manipulation of of the 2004 presidential vote, particularly in Ohio through electronic voting machines, handing GW Bush a narrow election to a 2nd term as president.

Here's a good article from Jennifer Cohn, an expert on election security, revisiting this topic:
Two companies owned by a single family were directly involved with the “butterfly ballots” of 2000 and the corrupted Ohio 2004 recount. The family currently has its hands on Ohio’s voter registration system & voting machines!

1. Most have heard that our electronic-based voting system is scandalously vulnerable to foreign and domestic hackers.
2. Many have heard that using paper ballots in conjunction with our voting machines will improve the integrity of our elections because the paper ballots can be hand counted at a later date to ensure no “funny business” occurred with the machine tally.
3. But few have heard about the shenanigans that occurred between Election Night and the 2004 recount in Ohio. That is the purpose of this article: To show that post-election audits and recounts must themselves be conducted in public or they will do little to secure our elections. To show the importance of a secure and transparent chain of custody between Election Night and any post-election audit or recount.
4. Here is a link to a report by the Government Publishing Office titled “COUNTING ELECTORAL VOTES — JOINT SESSION OF THE HOUSE AND SENATE HELD PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1 (HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES — JANUARY 6, 2005).” https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CREC-2005-01-06/html/CREC-2005-01-06-pt1-PgH84-6.htm
5. The above report is cited throughout this article. The report addresses the many disturbing problems that plagued the recount in Ohio after the 2004 election.
