The Strange Case of Daniel Lewin-- the First 9/11 Victim
Detailed by Shoestring 911, in another typically overly long and repetitive post.
Still Shoestring does bring out a lot of good details.
Key points:
-- Lewin was an amazingly gifted and successful person
-- Lewin was a highly trained Israeli anti-terrorist commando
-- it's highly unlikely Lewin was killed by a slim 9/11 hijacker with a knife
-- what we about Lewin's death is from phone calls from flight attendants on the flights and there are major discrepancies in the calls
Overall, my guess is Lewin was set up to be the hero on some hijacking drill or staged hijacking event and was double-crossed in some way, much in the way the hijacking drills on 9/11 were a diversion from what really happened.
But the whole story -- just a very small part of 9/11-- once again points out the very strange and incompletely explained nature of that whole event.

recall that phone calls were still impossible from airliners in 2001
if they were using airplanes, they were possible, but cell phone calls were certainly impossible
meant to say "if they were using *air phones*, it was possible to call from a plane, but cell phone calls were certainly impossible at any altitude. The issue is whether they really used planes!
