Intellectual Bankruptcy

I watched "The World Trade Center: Rise and Fall of an American Icon" on the History channel last night.

I was hoping they would spend some time on how the towers were constructed and also how they collapsed.

I was rather disappointed.

Over an hour of the two hours was on recovery efforts at ground zero, going into boring (and seemingly pointless) detail about how they had scientists make maps of the debris field. Only about five minutes was spent on the construction of the towers and about the same amount of time on the collapse. The collapses of the towers were attributed to the fires and the idea that the plane impacts knocked off the fireproofing from the floor beams. Basically, their argument boiled down to the floor brackets wilting from the fires, causing a floor collapse and progressive pancaking. Then they showed the video of the top of the south tower exploding-- but never explained how a simple floor pancaking caused the whole top of the building to crumble and explode like that! They completely ignore the issue of how the strong core structure remains intact even if a few floors collapse.

Does this honestly look to you like a few floors have broken away from their inside brackets? Do they really expect us to believe this shit?

What is severing the huge steel beams of the inner core structure?

You asked, "What is severing the huge steel beams of the inner core structure?"

Answer: det cord.

But, you know they will say they only used det cord to cut the beams AFTER the buildings "fell" down.

Det. cord isn't powerful enough to cut steel, but linear shaped charges are designed for exactly that, and are off-the-shelf items:
