Restoring Habeas Corpus
Rather sad we even need to do this, and even sadder that we need to worry about Republicans FILIBUSTERING restoring habeas corpus.

You are a fucking stupid asshole. The only thing that eclipses that is the fact that you so proudly put said fucking stupidity on display here.
The bill in question here, the Military Commissions Act (MCA) of 2006, simply states that habeas corpus would be suspended for any alien determined to be an “unlawful enemy combatant" engaged in hostilities or having supported hostilities against the United States. This bill passed by a 65–34 vote - hardly partisan.
So tell us, Spooky, you would afford all legal rights of a US citizen, including habeus corpus, to a terrorist who, say, came over here and blew up an elementary school? You would rather a civil court for him? Perhaps you could defend him? After all, you are such a self-proclaimed fucking expert in everything else.
You really are a piece of shit.
Demagoguery and name calling aside, I think every person should be given basic rights.
The vote count means nothing as the Democrats are worthless patsies for the most part. But at least they PRETEND mostly to stand for decency and basic humanity.
Non-uniformed combatants-- even terrorists-- should be given basic human rights, such as habeas corpus, for a few reasons:
1) it is the right thing to do
2) when you capture a group of suspects, you don't always immediately know who are the real terrorists.
3) assuming that this is a war for the hearts and minds of the Islamic world, I think treating people humanely gives us the upper moral ground and is more likely to win converts than blowing people up and treating them like shit.
