Ex-Guantanamo Detainee Becomes Suicide Bomber in Iraq
Surprise! Abusing a prisoner and treating them like a terrorist, makes them act like a terrorist.
I know the right-wing line is that this proves the guy was a nasty TERRORIST in the first place, and that somehow that this guy was set free to blow himself up is all the liberals' fault.
In fact, logically, there are three possibilities here:
A) this guy was innocent in the first place, but then was turned into a terrorist by mistreatment at Gitmo
B) this guy was somewhat of a bad guy who could have been rehabilitated by proper treatment but was turned into a terrorist by mistreatment at Gitmo
C) this guy was a terrorist from the beginning, and his incarceration at Gitmo had nothing to do with turning him into a suicide bomber
(C) of course is the right-wing, pro-war-on-terror line, but an explanation which no matter how you slice it shows how flawed the system is. However, it also seems doubtful that the guy was so bad that decent treatment could not have turned him around-- or that if the guy was so bad that there was no evidence to keep him incarcerated.
I personally tend to favor explanation (A), but I think (B) is a reasonable interpretation as well.

There is another perhaps over-riding factor in all this. There is a good reason (from its point of view) for the American regime to break all laws, and carry out intn’l kidnapping (“extraordinary rendition”), torture, indefinite imprisonment (without trial, lawyer, rights, or media presence). Anyone who worked with/for the regime, its “intelligence” agencies, etc. in such matters as the CIA front called “Al Qaeda,” anyone who could prove that 9/11 was perpetrated by the American regime itself, anyone who knows that the WTC was nuked, are grave threats to the perpeTRAITORS. Such people of course include those foul American agents who perpetrated these acts, and pinned them on “foreign terrorists.” The perps either fear arrest and trial, or perhaps that members either of the American military or members of the Gestapo (Homeland Security) elements would wake up and do the right thing directly to them. Or they fear the Ultimate Solution--a mass revolt of the people to re-establish a legitimate government not occupied by mass murderers and traitors.
So those who partook in the dastardly deeds cited above, or those who know and can prove the regime itself did these things (including some innocent people [see the movie “Missing”] must be kidnapped from anywhere in the world, and either imprisoned indefinitely, tortured into madness, poisoned--as I was, or killed immediately.
All the while publicly calling these people “terrorists.”
Once all this got underway, of course, with the insidious nature of those who have or relish absolute power, many innocent people (who don’t have any relevant information) will also get these “special treatments” as well.
That is why each of us must act as if these things have happened to each of us--BECAUSE IT WILL--and soon enough.
But what is amazing is that all the new “laws”, Patriot act and the sequelae, allow anyone in the military or the Gestapo [Homeland} agencies, with appropriate access, to seize the actual perps/traitors/terrorists, in the “government”, and take them out. But I guess the people in the military/Gestapo agencies are the most cowardly, or stupid, or in the greatest denial of anyone in the history of Mankind--which may be ending soon because these individuals, with access, failed to do the right thing in Self-Defense. That is, in defense of the very surivial of the entire species now.
