Bush Impeachment Update

House votes to move Kucinich articles to judiciary committee.

CNN reports this as a move that is designed to kill impeachment-- certainly Dem leadership (Pelosi et al) do not want impeachment. Words fail me in describing how fucked up Pelosi is in this regard. Talk about a fake opposition Democrat!

Optimistically, this could be a good move, as it will allow the judiciary committee to collect evidence, and the threat of bringing impeachment to the floor can be used for some leverage against Bush. Certainly, impeachment probably would have died if sent to the floor for a straight up vote, so this isn't so bad-- in a relative sense.

Meanwhile, 89% of people in this MSNBC poll think Bush should be impeached (almost 700,000 responses).

Speaker Pelosi is a savvy politician who understands that impeachment proceedings against bush could end up hurting the Democrats more than the Republicans in November.

Because of the reality that most Democrats in both Houses supported the Administration's war policy (foreign policy has always been a bipartisan aspect of politics), if bush is brought up on charges, Republicans will make Democrats the issue.

Impeachment isn't going to happen.
The best revenge against the bush
Administration's failures and catastrophes is a new Administration that restores our credibility around the world and that presses for legislation that advances the interests of all Americans.

Pelosi is either covering for Bush, or cares more about her party's power than in restoring the constitution and seeking justice for serious crimes. She has very misplaced priorities. The country has gotten horrendously off track in large part because of a lack of accountability for Bush admin. crimes.
