Deep Thought of the Day
Torturing Gitmo prisoners was part of the 9/11 cover-up.
General Thoughts of the Day:
I do have to say I'm impressed how brazen Bush and Cheney are about admitting the approved the torture now (although they weasel a bit by saying it wasn't really torture, we all know it was torture).
It's as if they are daring any US official to go ahead and make their day by prosecuting them for war crimes.
It's also clear they are showing their true evil, and as I've said before-- torture wasn't a result of 9/11, torture shows the mentality of psychopaths who could carry out something like 9/11.

OSAMA bin LADEN
SPEAKS FROM THE GRAVE
"Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda, has called in an audio message for a jihad against Israeli forces in Gaza, it has been claimed."

In other news:
"Timothy F. Geithner, the president-elect’s choice for Treasury secretary, failed to pay more than $34,000 in taxes early this decade."
Exactly the kind of guy that rich people (who fear they might be subject to an IRS audit) want in a Treasury Secretary.

Deep thought of the day
or
Deep thought of many days ago?
I recall seeing that very sentiment
expressed right here in this very blog's comments section. More than once.
"Deep thought of the day" is tongue in cheek-- and does not necessarily imply an original thought.
"Joe Biden, the Vice President-elect, briefed Mr Obama yesterday after spending this week on a Senate fact-finding mission to Iraq and Afghanistan.
He said: "Things are going to get tougher in Afghanistan before they get better. There needs to be more resources to attend to in the situation of Afghanistan."
Joe Biden: The new Colin Powell.
Would anyone here care to speculate on what this is all about:
"WASHINGTON — Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said Wednesday that federal SWAT teams and military units are prepared to respond to Mexican drug gangs in the event they cross the Rio Grande and confront U.S. law officers.
The forces, another department official said, also stand ready to manage any surge to the border by Mexicans panicked by the cartels’ violence."
