The Hutaree Militia

Not sure what all to make of this story. Interesting there was a fed informant behind the arrest-- how deeply was he involved in their plots?

Update: seems these people are none too bright, falling for silly email stories.

Nothing surprising about local, state, and federal agencies creating
crimes, because a whole slew of special interests benefit as the result.

Our country would be instantly improved if 90% of all criminal laws were wiped off the books today.

We might have something to learn from the Locrians of Ancient Greece. Their legislative procedures required that anyone who proposed the enactment of a new law must do so standing on a stool with his neck in a noose attached to a sacred oak tree above his head. If the assembly rejected his proposal the stool was kicked away.

That this was effective will not be a total surprise. According to Demosthenes, the Locrians had only two new laws in 200 years.
