Although he doesn't get into conspiracy and deeper issues at all, Glenn Greenwald still has an amazing way of cutting the crap away from politics and framing things in their critical essence.

On the inability of the media to explain public sentiment, he writes:

The political establishment is rotten to its core, and the only thing that's surprising is that the citizenry's contempt isn't even more intense than it is.
