Thought of the Day

I'm kind of overwhelmed with how fucked up everything is: a horrendously devastating mess in the gulf, likely destroying much precious wildlife there, horrendous oil policies and devastation in Nigeria and elsewhere, horrendous and shameful wars and war conduct, horrendous businesses practices, horrendous lies basically everywhere (e.g. this), horrible food and drug and vaccine policies, and to top it off, the two political parties are complete corrupt messes-- one is completely irrational and malevolent and corrupt and dominates the media and the other is more rational but is still insidiously corrupt and overly prone to influence from the other party-- so no one can do anything to effect change, even if people weren't massively distracted and propagandized. Not that protest is even a realistic option. Of course, this doesn't even get into deeper conspiracy and the ultimate truths of how fucked over we are.

On the other hand, in my neck of the woods, it's a lovely day and life is mostly fine... and all politics is local, isn't it???
