The Flight 93 Phone Calls-- Part II, Mark Bingham

Passenger Mark Bingham called his mother's home at 9:44am. His aunt answers. Mark says the flight has been hijacked, Mark thinks he might die.

When Mark's mother comes on, Mark says: "Mom, this is Mark Bingham".

He then says the plane has been hijacked by three guys, they say they have a bomb.

Mark's mom asks: "Who are these guys, Mark".

There is a long pause, Mark's mom can hear voices in the background.

Mark says: "Do you believe me? It's true."

There is a long pause and the line goes dead.

All I can say that Mark's behaviour here is a little odd. Who ever says their last name to their mom, no matter how stressed? Seems if you are stressed, you're more likely to revert to "mommy it's me" phase. The mom seems convinced that it was Mark on the phone, and perhaps it was. Or perhaps it was a really good fake.

It is just amazing how every phone call of any length from this flight has something weird about it.
