To save the levee.

To save the people of New Orleans.

Where was the effort????????

Did ANYONE with any power EVEN TRY before today???

This is not just negligence.

This is fucking criminal.

I swear. You people are complete and utter fucking morons. Blowing up the levees? Making the masses used to disaster? This crap you are excreting is no different from your inability to understand the aerodynamic results of a 100 ton aircraft hitting a concrete building at 400 knots. You have no fucking clue what a Cat 4 or a borderline Cat 5 hurricane can do to a place like New Orleans. Blame Bush? Why not blame 8 years of Clinton for not doing something about it? There was a major hurricane in 1965 with loss of life – why not blame Johnson for not doing something about it? Why not blame decades of democratic rule in the LA state house for not doing something about it?
Complete and total fucking idiots. Access to the web with a demonstrated clueless inability to understand the simplest of events is not really dangerous – it simply continues to showcase the inane intellectual vacuum that exists in the moonbat left of today.

Also, I see you have no answer for the utter catastrophic lack of response to this disaster by Bush. Why not?

Why was this so badly bungled by the FEDS?

Aren't you just a wee bit worried if there was a major terror attack what would happen?

Or do you just not care? They had it coming to them, eh?

No, the answer I don’t have is for the utter intellectual vacuity that is displayed by you and your partners in idiocy here. As I scroll down thru your posts these past 2 weeks, I see NOTHING from YOU about an impending natural disaster of biblical proportions with the left-expected mismanagement by the Bush Administration. If it was so totally evident why didn’t you predict it with such prescient clarity?

I noticed YOU DIDN’T foretell a breakdown in civil authority .

I noticed YOU didn’t foretell the refugee problem and the over 400 busses in New Orleans that are now under 10 feet of water, an estimated 20,000 seats to evacuate people that the local DEMOCRAT mayor could have taken advantage of.

Governor Kathleen Blanco made the mandatory evacuation order only after the president, AP wrote, "called and personally appealed for a mandatory evacuation."

Last summer there was a hurricane worst-case scenario drill for the New Orleans area. See this from CNN.com:
But one of the drill participants, Col. Michael L. Brown, then-deputy director of the Louisiana emergency preparedness department, told the Baton Rouge Advocate newspaper that, in a worst-case scenario, there would be only so much government agencies could do.

"Residents need to know they'll be on their own for several days in a situation like this," Brown, who is not related to the FEMA director, told the paper.

DUH! That is EXACTLY what happened.

The truth of the matter is that Bush declared the 3-state region disaster areas BEFORE the hurricane hit.

They key here is that you don't give a damn what the facts are. I’ve seen it time and time again with your wacked out 9-11 and Pentagon posts. Once again it demonstrates that you and those who follow you are incapable and unable to understand complex interactions
regarding events of our time so you fall back on the only thing you can understand, a simplified “Blame Bush” mentality. You have gone far beyond stupid and humorous and well into a predictable caricature of the “I Hate Bush At Any Cost Damn The Facts” moron.

I will be the first to admit that mistakes have been made – AT ALL LEVELS. Any post-event analysis will always find fault and ways to do better, but too much is left to the “They should have known” mentality. This level of disaster can only be prepared for to a certain extent and blaming everything on one level of government is asinine and demonstrates YET ANOTHER inability to understand things.

I’ve said this elsewhere, but Bush could personally come up with a cure for cancer and you dolts would castigate him for putting undertakers out of business. THAT is why nothing – absolutely nothing – that you ever say or post here will carry any sense of legitimacy or logic anywhere.

And this statement from your “acquaintance” with a background in civil engineering (if you are going to quote these lunatics I recommend you find some smarter acquaintances):

2) I'm sure they have the ability to lower Lake Ponchatrain (after diverting Mississippi river flow)

Lake Ponchatrain is open to the Gulf of Mexico through Pass Rigolets at Fort Pike and via Lake Borgne. Ask your “civil engineer acquaintance” how he plans on dropping the level of Lake Ponchatrain when the supply of water includes the rest of the world’s oceans.
