While much of this whole trope is merely political theater-- Bill Kristol is surely too smart to be so simple-minded about Vietnam-- it still stunning to see the sheer level of historical revisionism about Vietnam and it is amazing how much bitterness conservatives seem to still have about Vietnam.

And whether deeply felt or merely an act, Bush plays up to this whole mindset.

But ultimately what makes these people truly sick is how casually they dismiss the horrendous pain inflicted on vast numbers of people by wars such as Vietnam and Iraq.
