Notes on Smallpox
Smallpox was one of the more deadly diseases mankind has ever confronted.
Curiously, the last person to be killed by smallpox, was in England, at a research lab-- AND SHE HAD BEEN VACCINATED.
Which fits with this book I've been reading that tears down the idea that vaccination prevents smallpox.
There are sites I've seen that espouse the idea that smallpox vaccination actually helped to spread smallpox. I used to think that was crazy, but now I really wonder...

Well I would put it that the 33 indicates who is in control of this matter.
But the Wiki article indicates that Smallpox has not been destroyed. At least as recently as 2007, the references indicate this did not yet occur, and that Smallpox still exists at the CDC in Georgia and in Russia. The Wiki piece indicates that dates for the destruction of the virus have been repeatedly postponed. (You gotta love their reasons for that.)
If so, it can be "easy" for a "terrorist" [cough] group to get hold of some.
Does anyone know the actual current status of the storage [or not] of the virus at the 2 centers?
