More on Tenet
I heard him yesterday interviewed by Terri Gross on NPR's "Fresh Air" show. Gross is a reasonable interviewer, but a political lightweight, and showed no tendency to dig out any deep truths from Tenet. Certainly, she was unwilling to question any of the official line.
Tenet refused to give any personal opinions, to engage in any speculation and to provide any interesting insights into the last six years. Basically, he stuck to his official professional story in an extremely frustrating and annoying way. I guess the only thing that made him sort of interesting was his complete lack of charm, and I had to sort of begrudgingly give him credit for his unflinching lawyer-like manner.
The "60 Minutes" interview seems more interesting. Though of course, I should point out, the guy is a lying scum.
I like the way he says "the truth matters to us".
Riiiight.
UPDATE: Intriguingly, in the 60 Minutes interview, one of the only times Tenet mis-speaks is in this critical line: "planes flying into airfor... airports"
Wonder what that slip was about?
He also says a bit later "... plotlines that I don't know". Plotlines??? Whose plotlines?
