Nuclear Blackmail -- or Worse?

The reason Russia doesn't want even a few missile interceptors on its doorstep (Poland, Czechloslovakia) is because the US has never ruled out a nuclear first strike.

While a few US missile interceptors pose no threat should Russia decide to nuke us first, these interceptors pose a threat to Russia should the US launch a first strike.

This is because a US first strike would have a main goal of taking out much of Russia's nuclear arsenal. The anti-ballistic missiles (ABMs) could then mop up what few missiles Russia might have left to shoot at the US.

That is the Russian worry anyway.

So Bush putting ABMs in Poland is a very aggressive move. He's either trying to start a new nuclear arms race, destabilize things enough to start a nuclear war, or at minimum blackmail Russia into going along with whatever evil Washington has planned.

I wonder if it has anything to do with Iran?

Either the Bush administration really REALLY wants to attack Iran-- or they are trying to distract us from something other nasty thing they are up to.

I still tend to think they are not THAT crazy to start a war with Iran-- so the question is: what are they distracting us from?

It's impossible to know what's really going on, but "livin' the thug life" seems to be a bipartisan affliction.

Clinton was no less of a threat to human life and spread misery in more countries than even his gangsta brother "GW".

Poppy didn't limit his own display of aggression to the dinner table of the Japanese Prime Minister (Remember Panama, Desert Storm etc.?), and
Reagan's minions tried unsuccessfully to kill the head of state of Libya, though they did manage to kill his baby daughter. Then there was that unpleasantness in Grenada, and all that death and destruction in Central America.

And yet some people don't have a clue about where Gangsta Rappers get some of their ideas.

www.tenc.net argues that the war on Serbia, opposed by Russia, was part of the encirclement of Russia, and that post-9/11 incursions into Central Asia are a continuation. Fomenting of Islamism is an important tactic, according to TENC. Carter and Zbigniew's use of the mujahedin in Afghanistan was also part of that policy.

"Fomenting of Islamism" - that seems like it would be a good tactic indeed.
nothing like a good segment of a country's population suddenly believing that the rest are infidels!

Housing market collapsing, M3 money growth going to 14%, consumer tapped out.

The boys need another inflation machine. A new war with Iran or a Cold War ressurection with Russia is just what they need to beef up military government spending to keep the house of cards of inflation and broken fiat-based currency systems going.

Follow the money.
