An Amazing Life: Paul Robeson
Someone you likely never heard of-- Paul Robeson was a giant in many fields including civil rights and humanitarian politics. However, the US govt largely succeeded in keeping his name out of the history books, because of his socialist and strong anti-fascist views.

No surprise that those with the power
to control information, often do.
Are we STILL living in Nixxonland?
Tim said:
"Before Richard Nixon defeated Hubert Humphrey in 1968, the United States was an expansive country, especially in opportunity and education.A main pillar of Lyndon Johnson's Great Society was the expansion of education and opportunity and especially the founding of colleges and universities across the country. But during President Nixon's one and a half terms as President, all of that changes, and the focus shifted away from building college campuses to the building of prison complexes, as education and opportunity for all gave way to Law and Order, stiffer penalties for all crimes, especially for non-violent drug offenders, and so the Military-Industrial-Prison complex was born under the authority of Richard Nixon. We are still living in Nixonland and today the US has more people in prison that any other country in the world and our educational establishment is languishing for infusions of funds. It costs much less to educate people per capita than house them in prison complexes and the return on investment enhances the productivity of people in ways that can never be achieve by prison rehabilitation plans. Richard Nixon was a politician without principles and he was committed to winning (after having lost so many times) at whatever cost to the people of America. The Military- Industrial- Prison complex was President Nixons gift to the nation, a disaster that continues to keep on giving. Nixon's legacy may well even condemn the nation to a permanent second class status in the world, as our internal divisions seem likely to control the future of the country and transform it promise."
