To be sure, the Dept of Defense is doing serious R&D on both of these right now, particularly bionics to make better soldiers, but also AI to out-think the enemy and their computers. There's an intense race for the US to be first in these transformative technologies.

Merging humans and machines may be the final goal of the mind control apparatus that has existed in dark corners of military industrial intelligence - particularly where it messes with the medical (especially psychiatric) profession and the occult.
Yes, for sure. Another goal of transhumanism is immortality. But in what form, and do people really want to live forever (or for thousands of years)? Crazy stuff.
