NIST and the WTC Collapse

Over a week ago, I sent the following e-mail to NIST (National Institutes of Standards and Technology) who is investigating the WTC collapse on 9/11:

TO: wtc@nist.gov
Dear NIST Investigators--

Can you please tell me if you can absolutely rule out the use of pre-planted explosives in the WTC 1 and 2 towers as well as in WTC7 that caused or accelerated their collapse?

Also, could you please tell me if you tested any of the pieces of metal you recovered for traces of explosives?

As you may know, there has been a lot of speculation about the causes of the WTC collapse, and I was hoping if you could help settle the issue.

Thanks very much,

And I received no response, even to a follow-up e-mail sent a couple days ago.

You know, if they really wanted to avoid people thinking "crazy" things like that the WTC towers were brought down by controlled demolitions, maybe they could be a little more forthcoming about telling us otherwise.

Interestingly, it turns out I'm not the only one sending e-mails to NIST and doubting the official story.

Kevin Ryan, who was involved with inspecting the steel used in constructing the WTC towers, takes issue with the NIST explanation of steel softening being involved in the collapse of the towers.
