More Thoughts on Gun Control

I'm sure I annoyed more than a few readers here when I posted on Aurora last week and called for better gun control. So I want to clarify my thoughts a bit.

-- I didn't mean to imply that gun control would have prevented Aurora. Assuming Aurora was a programmed psy-op, then obviously no amount of gun control would have prevented it.

-- I still stand by other points in the piece, particularly that I don't think the relative gun freedom we have in the US is keeping us from a full police state. Especially, since we already have quite a bit of police state now.

-- I don't think citizens armed with rifles and handguns and the occasional assault rifle have a chance of taking "back" America from the psychopaths in control. I just can't see a revolution, a la 1776, occurring now. We would need a military type force to really take control away from the government.  Perhaps, multiple independent militias working together could have some effect.

-- I really don't care for the NRA either, and I don't think this conspiracy I proposed is too far-fetched either-- there can be multiple layers to each conspiracy and I do think there is a great deal of evil in the arms industry.

-- Importantly, I really don't think all Americans should carry guns either. I just think there is way too much opportunity for random shootings and accidental deaths. Also, I don't really WANT to live in a country where every doofus is carrying a gun!

-- I don't mind civilians carrying guns, as long as they have been properly trained and get certified on a regular basis.

-- I know this part is tricky, and has serious nuances, but there needs to be some way to keep guns out of the hands of mentally unbalanced people and/or psychopaths.  Obviously, we don't want the state to have too flexible of a definition of who is mentally fit to carry a gun.

-- I think it is reasonable and proper that a government regulate the extent to which a regular citizen can arm themselves. For instance, we don't want random people carrying hand grenades or bazookas or other military-grade weaponry, unless they are part of "well-regulated militia".

-- In general, we need to work on peaceful ways for change-- serious, real change.  America is massively violent-- we are a nation founded on genocide and slavery, who has a major war every generation.  We have violence issues that we need to get over.

-- The biggest cause of gun deaths is the gun war, and cops shooting at minorities.  I'm really not sure WHAT to do about that-- it's a huge, complex issue.

-- I think it would be interesting if people protested massively, carrying arms-- maybe that would get the attention of the PTB more than peaceful protests and they arms would ward off attacks from the police.  Of course, such a protest could also degenerate into a small-scale war if the cops and/or protestors aren't careful.  One would hope the cops wouldn't mess with large numbers of protestors carrying guns, but who knows.  And unfortunately, the people most likely to be armed in large numbers are right-wing ignoramuses.

The Aurora Shooting Conspiracy Bandwagon

I really haven't gotten into the weeds on this one-- too distracted, too little time. And there's clearly a cottage industry for every conspiracy site to do their own investigation and make some conclusions on limited evidence and call it a psy-op by an MK-ULTRA victim, etc.

Of course, I'm sure the shooting was a set-up of some sort, from what I have seen. For instance, Aurora had drilled a very similar scenario just months before the shooting, there was someone helping Holmes get into the theater, he gave up without a fight outside the theater, he had been doing weird mind research, Holmes seemed drugged up at his hearing, what was in his apartment, who set up all the sophisticated booby-traps, etc. But there is a tendency by most sites to go way overboard in their conclusions based on one or two pieces of evidence. One thing I have not seen is a thorough presentation of all the different strands of weird facts, for this case. I suppose that would be a lot of work, but it would be good.

One odd thing is how little we've been told about Holmes motivations so far-- normally something would have come out by now. They are keeping this all very hush-hush-- maybe because his programming was too obvious?

Anyway, all this stuff does get tedious too-- how many conspiracies can any one person thoroughly research? It gets kind of mind-numbing after some point. It's sort of like once you've made that initial breakthrough that there ARE these covert conspiracies against humanity, it just gets easier to see other ones after that... At the same time, it always hurts to see people come to really silly or dumb or plain wrong conclusions. There does tend to be a lot of annoying hyperbole, kneejerk conclusions, over-generalization and plain factual errors by a lot of conspiracy sites.

The bottom line is that good conspiracy research is hard and takes time.

Caveat emptor!

Deep Thought of the Day

I wish more people were talking about third party candidates.

Mitt Romney is clearly terrible in countless ways.
Obama, of course, has huge problems too.

I will not vote for either.

Both are psychopaths, but Romney is the more obvious inhuman, weird psychopath, which is why I can't see him winning.

Good alternatives to Obama and Romney:
Rocky Anderson -- Justice Party
Jill Stein -- Green party
Gary Jonson -- Libertarian party

These people ALL recognize the major problems the US is facing in a much more honest way than the major candidates, even if they don't get into deep conspiracy. But any of them if elected would go a long way to helping America and the world be a better place.

None of them has a chance of winning however, unless people talk about them, volunteer for them, donate to them, or vote for them.

Israeli Hegemony, Israeli Arrogance-- Probably the Most Obnoxious Op-Ed I Have Ever Read

Nauseating piece by Dani Dayan-- "chairman of the Yesha Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria."
WHATEVER word you use to describe Israel’s 1967 acquisition of Judea and Samaria — commonly referred to as the West Bank in these pages — will not change the historical facts. Arabs called for Israel’s annihilation in 1967, and Israel legitimately seized the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria in self-defense. Israel’s moral claim to these territories, and the right of Israelis to call them home today, is therefore unassailable. Giving up this land in the name of a hallowed two-state solution would mean rewarding those who’ve historically sought to destroy Israel, a manifestly immoral outcome.

Of course, just because a policy is morally justified doesn’t mean it’s wise. However, our four-decade-long settlement endeavor is both. The insertion of an independent Palestinian state between Israel and Jordan would be a recipe for disaster.

The influx of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and elsewhere would convert the new state into a hotbed of extremism. And any peace agreement would collapse the moment Hamas inevitably took power by ballot or by gun. Israel would then be forced to recapture the area, only to find a much larger Arab population living there.

Moreover, the Palestinians have repeatedly refused to implement a negotiated two-state solution. The American government and its European allies should abandon this failed formula once and for all and accept that the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria are not going anywhere.

On the contrary, we aim to expand the existing Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, and create new ones. This is not — as it is often portrayed — a theological adventure but is rather a combination of inalienable rights and realpolitik.

Even now, and despite the severe constraints imposed by international pressure, more than 350,000 Israelis live in Judea and Samaria. With an annual growth rate of 5 percent, we can expect to reach 400,000 by 2014 — and that excludes the almost 200,000 Israelis living in Jerusalem’s newer neighborhoods. Taking Jerusalem into account, about 1 in every 10 Israeli Jews resides beyond the 1967 border. Approximately 160,000 Jews live in communities outside the settlement blocs that proponents of the two-state solution believe could be easily incorporated into Israel. But uprooting them would be exponentially more difficult than the evacuation of the Gaza Strip’s 8,000 settlers in 2005.

The attempts by members of the Israeli left to induce Israelis to abandon their homes in Judea and Samaria by offering them monetary compensation are pathetic. This checkbook policy has failed in the past, as it will in the future. In the areas targeted for evacuation most of us are ideologically motivated and do not live here for economic reasons. Property prices in the area are steep and settlers who want to relocate could sell their property on the free market. But they do not.

Our presence in all of Judea and Samaria — not just in the so-called settlement blocs — is an irreversible fact. Trying to stop settlement expansion is futile, and neglecting this fact in diplomatic talks will not change the reality on the ground; it only makes the negotiations more likely to fail.

Another View-- The Right-Wing, Gun-Manufacturer, NRA Conspiracy

-- Brain-wash/hypnotize some hapless young person into committing a gun massacre

-- Downplay the deaths, e.g. guns don't kill people

-- Scream that it's all a plot by liberals and/or the UN to take away Americans' guns, and that guns are needed to prevent "tyranny"

-- Convince people that they need to buy guns to prevent further massacres and prevent "tyranny"

-- Make a killing selling guns

-- Pay-off Congress to keep them from regulating gun sales

-- Rinse and repeat, every six months or so

Yet Another Gun Massacre

This sort of thing just happens way too frequently. At this point, I do think we need some sort of better gun control. Just FUCK the NRA.

While this latest case may have been some sort of weird conspiracy, with Holmes being a patsy, the fact is that it's way too easy in the US for random psychos to get guns and lots of ammo and other battle accoutrements and pull off mass murder.

I have trouble with the idea this is all about gun control-- that the purpose of these incidents is for people demanding gun control, as so many cheap conspiracy sites are saying. NO ONE is trying to take guns away from US citizens, but more critically, look how fucked up this country is, despite us being armed to the teeth. We basically HAVE fascism, and what did all those guns do?

What if the evil PTB really just like seeing random gun violence and murder? Shouldn't we try to stop that? And I don't think the solution is for everyone to be packing heat themselves. I really don't think shootouts in urban areas between citizens is a good idea. Also Holmes was wearing armor, so it's not like he was going to be stopped so easily by someone shooting back. In my opinion, the solution is to make guns a little more difficult to get-- to make gun owners go through some sort of training and yearly checks.

I know this probably puts me in poor standing as a conspiracy theorist, to call for better gun control. Nonetheless, something needs to be done about the sickening and idiotic gun mania in this country. Again-- all our guns did not keep away the police state we have. And the PTB are so advanced now, they don't even need to shoot us. Sure, it's a great fantasy to think of DHS gestapo coming to your door to take you away and lock you in a concentration camp, and you stand them off with your personal arsenal of weaponry. Same for apocalyptic scenarios where you have to protect your family from roving gangs of marauders. But let's get real.

I am not saying people can't have guns, nor is anyone really going to take away Americans' guns. Anyone who says there's a UN plot to disarm the US is a dumb, very shallow conspiracist. What I am calling for is SANE gun laws, and SANE gun control.

Finally, if there was any kind of deep conspiracy to the Colorado shooting, and all the other gun massacres we have every few months or weeks here in the US, I suspect it's because assholes in DC want to distraction from some other big story that they don't want us to know about, something that sheds light on their crimes or something showing yet another way they rip us off.

More on the Vancouver Hearings

Don Fox has set up a blog, where you can download talks from various speakers:
Some fun stuff to explore there.

Fox appears to be a mini-nuke proponent, though I have not really "vetted" him, I only heard him on Fetzer's show talking about Honneger's, Kollerstrom's and Praeger's talks.

I heard Clare Kuehn on this Fetzer show, where she defended Woods DEW stuff. Apparently, Wood wouldn't go to the meeting, and was even mad at Kuehn for talking on her stuff... who knows what the hell Wood is thinking. At least, it seemed to me that all the DEW people have left that can't be explained by mini-nukes is:
1) vague "field" effects-- ie.e nonsense
2) apparent levitation of vehicles-- based on various odd reports which are hard to evaluate, or pictures where history of scene is not known
3) weird fires -- which are explainable in various ways

Honegger has some REALLY good points about the Pentagon attack-- how it was actually central to 9/11 being more than just another OK city or WTC 1993 bombing, and key for starting the world wide US military response to terror. And of course, it was an inside set-up, with a fake-plane crash and various ruses... I haven't gone through all her material. There is a ton!

An important point about the Pentagon attack is that it is HIGHLY unlikely the Mossad set it up and completely covered it up with US help, so there needed to be some major US military complicity. In the case of the Pentagon attack, we can say the US MIHOP, with good certainty.

Priests as Intel Agents, Churches as Covert Intelligence Fronts

It seems kind of obvious that intel would hide within religion-- they are everywhere else-- but apart from some links I'd heard between the CIA and Christian fundamentalism I had heard before, I hadn't given it much thought before. But priests are unique in being given a lot of freedom to move around society, and collect information, so they probably make particularly good intel agents.

This is a really interesting conversation with Peter Levenda, on fake churches that are really intel operations, with some particular focus on the JFK assassination.

This site of Lavenda's looks interesting, though I have not checked it out in any detail, nor have I "vetted" Lavenda in general, I can only comment on the interview.

For the Ponerology Files

The evil of Walmart-- degrading the American economy and abusing workers-- here and here.

The evil of offshore bank accounts and tax havens, which of course are used heavily by Mitt Romney.

The evil of the Coca-Cola and Bechtel Corporations in sucking up water rights world-wide, destroying farmers' lives.

We have absolutely no privacy in our communications and even in our bodies.

The Penn State football program should be permanently shut down and never permitted to come back, after their disgraceful cover-up of child rapes over years. (same thing for the catholic Church, for that matter. But that's another story.)

Finally, the US is becoming more visibly corrupt than ever.

33 of the Day

Sociopathic Republicans can't stand the idea of more Americans getting healthcare:
It’s the second time the House has voted to repeal the entire health care law — and the 33rd time House Republicans have voted to repeal, defund or knock down any piece of the law. But like almost all of the other attempts, this measure is certain to die in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

Holy Fuck

Hidden Government Scanners Will Instantly Know Everything About You From 164 Feet Away

Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away. From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you.

And without you knowing it.

The technology is so incredibly effective that, in November 2011, its inventors were subcontracted by In-Q-Tel to work with the US Department of Homeland Security. In-Q-Tel is a company founded "in February 1999 by a group of private citizens at the request of the Director of the CIA and with the support of the U.S. Congress." According to In-Q-Tel, they are the bridge between the Agency and new technology companies.

Their plan is to install this molecular-level scanning in airports and border crossings all across the United States. The official, stated goal of this arrangement is to be able to quickly identify explosives, dangerous chemicals, or bioweapons at a distance.

The machine is ten million times faster—and one million times more sensitive—than any currently available system. That means that it can be used systematically on everyone passing through airport security, not just suspect or randomly sampled people.
The end of privacy as we know it... sick, just sick.

Maybe Not the Worst People in the World

But very close, and are probably friends with the worst....
A New York City donor a few cars back, who also would not give her name, said Romney needed to do a better job connecting. “I don’t think the common person is getting it,” she said from the passenger seat of a Range Rover stamped with East Hampton beach permits. “Nobody understands why Obama is hurting them.

“We’ve got the message,” she added. “But my college kid, the baby sitters, the nails ladies — everybody who’s got the right to vote — they don’t understand what’s going on. I just think if you’re lower income — one, you’re not as educated, two, they don’t understand how it works, they don’t understand how the systems work, they don’t understand the impact.”

Peter Cohen, the former Shearson Lehman Bros. chief, told the Associated Press — while chewing on a cigar — that Romney is a “plain-talking guy.”

Ted Conklin, who owns the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, told the New York Times that Obama is a “socialist.”

“His idea is find a problem that doesn’t exist and get government to intervene,” Conklin added, his wife, Carol Simmons, nodding beside him in their gold Mercedes.

9/11 Was Evil

So is denying healthcare to over a million of your citizens.
In a statement published Monday morning, Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) “proudly” declared that he will decline to implement key tenets of the Affordable Care Act — a move that will see his state forgo an estimated $164 billion dollars in federal aid and leave over 1.2 million low-income Texans, who would have finally been eligible for health care, helpless and uninsured.

Also evil:
-- slashing funding for rape crisis centers, Nikki Haley in South Carolina
-- shutting down a TB hospital when there is a TB epidemic, Rick Scott in Florida
-- gestapo-like anti-immigration policies, Jan Brewer in Arizona
-- anti-democratic vote suppressing voter ID laws, in every fucking GOP-run state

9/11-- USA LIHOP, Israel MIHOP?

There is a good overview of the Israeli/Jewish cabal that could have orchestrated 9/11 here. Much more here. Clearly, these people had means, motive, opportunity and were involved in the cover-up too.

Of course, for this scenario, one needs to assume that all the people of Jewish heritage listed are working together secretly and have almost pure allegiance to Israel and the Jewish faith. It's not impossible to believe-- especially if we take the view that these key people have specifically infiltrated in these positions in order to facilitate 9/11 and the war on Islam.

If this scenario is true, it would suggest 9/11 was actually LIHOP by the US (as noted by Webster Tarpley in this recap of the recent Vancouver hearings). Of course, it is all too easy to blame the "other", the "outsider", and not blame the US for something like 9/11. There is certainly NO DOUBT that the US could have done this, and I suspect there was active collaboration between the US and Israel in 9/11. The main question is who was calling the shots.

Was the US using Israeli-affiliated Jews to do its dirty work? Or were the Israeli-Jews using the US and blackmailing them into support? Or was it more complicated? The US-Israel relationship is quite complex, as I wrote about here, with some good comments added in.

One big question is what exactly is driving the Israeli-Jews--specifically the elites involved in 9/11? What do they want? They clearly have wealth and power. What more do they need? Is it all just about reclaiming all of Israel from the Muslims? Or just killing Muslims and removing "threats" to Israel?

One could argue that the rest of the world doesn't care so much about Muslims and Israel-- why do they go along with the 9/11 charade if Israel did it? But in fact, Europe, India, China, Russia, Southeast Asia and Africa all have Muslim issues of their own-- so maybe they don't mind a general war on Islam, as a way of defanging Muslim power and diverting attention from their own deeds. Interestingly, Japan is one of the few countries to openly question 9/11 in their government, and they have no real Muslim issue. China doesn't have a huge Muslim issue, but they of course carry a lot of US debt and are competitors with the US, so they have good reasons for not challenging the US on 9/11-- they would profit from the US going into debt on wars and from the US weakening itself through wars.

But why don't Muslim countries call the charade, call out Israel? Of course the people do, to some extent-- but the leaders never come out and explicitly say this. Why? Are they afraid of their relationship with the US, and the US support of Israel? The US of course does major business with oil-producing Muslim countries, and pays off Pakistan, so has power over the key countries. Further, the elites in Muslim countries may be happy to have the US attack their "rebels" or "insurgents" and save them money on military expenditures.

Another question is whether countries around the world would maintain the 9/11 cover-up if it were purely the US who did it? My guess is probably, given the general weight that the US throws around.

Overall, I must say, the evidence tips more towards the US being used by Israel than the other way around, but neither do I like the idea that Israel is blackmailing the US. So I still maintain a form of symbiosis between US and Israel is the best explanation for 9/11--- thus the US role in 9/11 could be described as "MIHLIHOP".

A New Civilizational Paradigm

Some important ideas from Naomi Klein:
The fact that the earth’s atmosphere cannot safely absorb the amount of carbon we are pumping into it is a symptom of a much larger crisis, one born of the central fiction on which our economic model is based: that nature is limitless, that we will always be able to find more of what we need, and that if something runs out it can be seamlessly replaced by another resource that we can endlessly extract. But it is not just the atmosphere that we have exploited beyond its capacity to recover—we are doing the same to the oceans, to freshwater, to topsoil and to biodiversity. The expansionist, extractive mindset, which has so long governed our relationship to nature, is what the climate crisis calls into question so fundamentally. The abundance of scientific research showing we have pushed nature beyond its limits does not just demand green products and market-based solutions; it demands a new civilizational paradigm, one grounded not in dominance over nature but in respect for natural cycles of renewal—and acutely sensitive to natural limits, including the limits of human intelligence.

So in a way, Chris Horner was right when he told his fellow Heartlanders that climate change isn’t “the issue.” In fact, it isn’t an issue at all. Climate change is a message, one that is telling us that many of our culture’s most cherished ideas are no longer viable. These are profoundly challenging revelations for all of us raised on Enlightenment ideals of progress, unaccustomed to having our ambitions confined by natural boundaries. And this is true for the statist left as well as the neoliberal right.

While Heartlanders like to invoke the specter of communism to terrify Americans about climate action (Czech President Vaclav Klaus, a Heartland conference favorite, says that attempts to prevent global warming are akin to “the ambitions of communist central planners to control the entire society”), the reality is that Soviet-era state socialism was a disaster for the climate. It devoured resources with as much enthusiasm as capitalism, and spewed waste just as recklessly: before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Czechs and Russians had even higher carbon footprints per capita than their counterparts in Britain, Canada and Australia. And while some point to the dizzying expansion of China’s renewable energy programs to argue that only centrally controlled regimes can get the green job done, China’s command-and-control economy continues to be harnessed to wage an all-out war with nature, through massively disruptive mega-dams, superhighways and extraction-based energy projects, particularly coal.

It is true that responding to the climate threat requires strong government action at all levels. But real climate solutions are ones that steer these interventions to systematically disperse and devolve power and control to the community level, whether through community-controlled renewable energy, local organic agriculture or transit systems genuinely accountable to their users.
There's much more good stuff at the link. This issue may well be THE most important issue of our time.

7th Anniversary of 7/7

7/7 being "Britain's 9/11"-- and was obviously an inside job, with patsies, simultaneous terror drills and pre-planted bombs.

Pretty good pieces also here and here too.

And on the 7th anniversary of 7/7, police have arrested a 7th person in a new terror case (with almost specific no information).

I like the "more than 770": The latest detentions come on the seventh anniversary of the July 7, 2005, attacks, when four suicide bombers targeted London’s transport network, killing 52 people and injuring more than 770.

To Run a Bank Is To Steal

All banking executives should be put in jail.

The latest reason-- the LIBOR scandal:
LIBOR stands for the London InterBank Offered Rate. So what does that mean? It's basically the rate that banks around the world are lending money to each other. And the way it's calculated is each day - the banks submit what rate they can afford to borrow money at - and the average of what all the banks submit becomes the LIBOR rate. But what's really important to remember here is - LIBOR doesn't just apply to the rate banks lend money to each other. It also applies to the rate that we consumers pay on several different types of loans - including mortgages, car loans, and credit card rates. So if those rates are manipulated by banks - and artificially driven higher - then it affects a lot of people - and leads to working people paying more on their loans. Which is exactly what happened.

Earlier this week - the CEO and COO of Barclays bank resigned after it was revealed their bank was routinely manipulating LIBOR rates between 2005 and 2009. Barclays has since been hit with a $450 million fine for this criminal activity. But the question is - was Barclays alone in this? Or were other banks involved as well - and not only that - were governments and regulators involved in the scam too? Disgraced Barclays CEO Bob Diamond is alleging just that. As the Washington Post reported on Wednesday: "Fallen banking titan Bob Diamond on Wednesday described regulators on both sides of the Atlantic as partly complicit in a scandal involving the manipulation of a key interbank lending rate, telling a British parliamentary committee that government watchdogs had failed to act after his bank, Barclays, informed them of industry-wide irregularities during the U.S. financial crisis." So just how deep does this scandal go - and how much money did the banksters make this time screwing us?

Basically, the LIBOR rates were rigged, to screw over smaller fish-- in other words, all of us, via City and Local governments:
We know that the big banks conspired to manipulate Libor rates, with the approval of government authorities.

We know that the Libor manipulation effected the world’s largest market – interest rate derivatives.

But who are the biggest victims?

Sometimes the big banks manipulated the Libor rates up, and sometimes down. Different groups of people got hurt depending which way the rates were gamed.

Bloomberg’s Darrell Preston explained last year how cities and other local governments got scalped when rates were manipulated downward:

In the U.S., municipal borrowers used swaps to guard against the risk of higher interest costs on variable-rate debt by exchanging payments with another entity and tying how much they pay to an underlying value such as an index. The agreements can backfire if rates move in unexpected directions, resulting in issuers making larger payments. The derivatives were often designed to offset the risks of increases in the short-term rates tied to auction-rate securities, fixing borrowers’ costs by trading their debt- service payments with another party. Instead, rates dropped.

The yield on two-year Treasury notes fell from about 5.1 percent in June 2007 to a record 0.14 percent on Sept. 20. On Oct. 6, the U.S. Treasury sold $10 billion of five-day cash- management bills at 0 percent.

Ellen Brown adds:

For more than a decade, banks and insurance companies convinced local governments, hospitals, universities and other non-profits that interest rate swaps would lower interest rates on bonds sold for public projects such as roads, bridges and schools. The swaps were entered into to insure against a rise in interest rates; but instead, interest rates fell to historically low levels. This was not a flood, earthquake, or other insurable risk due to environmental unknowns or “acts of God.” It was a deliberate, manipulated move by the Fed, acting to save the banks from their own folly in precipitating the credit crisis of 2008. The banks got in trouble, and the Federal Reserve and federal government rushed in to bail them out, rewarding them for their misdeeds at the expense of the taxpayers. [The same thing happened in England.]
In other words, the banks convinced borrowers to insure against interest rates going UP, by engaging in swaps. However, the Fed LOWERED interest rates, which the banks knew about, meanwhile encouraging taxpayers to buy these insurance swaps and screwing over ordinary people.
How the swaps were supposed to work was explained by Michael McDonald in a November 2010 Bloomberg article titled “Wall Street Collects $4 Billion From Taxpayers as Swaps Backfire”: In an interest-rate swap, two parties exchange payments on an agreed-upon amount of principal. Most of the swaps Wall Street sold in the municipal market required borrowers to issue long-term securities with interest rates that changed every week or month. The borrowers would then exchange payments, leaving them paying a fixed-rate to a bank or insurance company and receiving a variable rate in return. Sometimes borrowers got lump sums for entering agreements.Banks and borrowers were supposed to be paying equal rates: the fat years would balance out the lean. But the Fed artificially manipulated the rates to the save the banks. After the credit crisis broke out, borrowers had to continue selling adjustable-rate securities at auction under the deals. Auction interest rates soared when bond insurers’ ratings were downgraded because of subprime mortgage losses; but the periodic payments that banks made to borrowers as part of the swaps plunged, because they were linked to benchmarks such as Federal Reserve lending rates, which were slashed to almost zero.
The whole thing is fairly complicated, and the last link has a lot more, but hopefully you will get the basic idea.

Katy Perry -- Mind-Control Victim?

Note her breast pinwheels spin, when she is in concert-- an allusion to hypnosis/mind-control via sex?

So, I actually went to see the Katy Perry movie "Part of Me" today (my daughter wanted to go). Perry seems like a sweet, innocent-ish, normal, wide-eyed all-American girl, who worked hard in the music business and finally made it big. There was nothing really stunning in the film, for a non-fan like me. Certainly, she's made written some huge songs, and her best known is the anthem "Firework":

While ostensibly about self-empowerment, I recently was thinking this video, that shows a chest exploding, could be an anthem for a suicide bomber!

Anyway, this piece talks about Perry's video "Wide Awake" as being about the Project Monarch mind-control system. The video is indeed suggestive of dark forces, if you watch it:

Note, "Wide Awake" was played over the closing credits of her "Part of Me" film, so clearly it has significance.

So, sadly, it seems like Perry may be another controlled celebrity. Her background is somewhat suspect, as her parents were Pentecostal ministers (mentioned in the film "Part of Me")-- who are the super creepy hard-core Christians. Even more suspicious, from wikipedia, is that her father was a 60's West Coast scenester. Dave McGowan's work has shown how heavily the 60's West Coast rock scene was infiltrated/controlled by intel agents. So perhaps Perry is controlled by her father in some way. She also had a relationship with Russel Brand, a Brit, who may well have intel control if you read his bio.

Back to Perry, I just saw this video as I was writing this up. It is discussed thoroughly in this piece:
"In her music video ‘Part of Me’, Katy Perry ditches her wigs and latex dresses to put on a Marines uniform. While some might find this style change “refreshing”, the video for ‘Part of Me’ has a very specific agenda: To entice young people to enlist in the military. We’ll look at how ‘Part of Me’ is a three-minute long advertisement to recruit new soldiers for the U.S. military."

Republicans Are Sociopaths, Part 33,333

I really haven't delved into partisan politics too much of late. However, it's time to trash-- to fully repudiate-- the most patently destructive force on the planet right now: the Republican party. They represent everything that is bad about humanity and America, in my opinion. Their extreme anti-environmentalism and love of war is probably the worst threat overall, but this goes hand-in-hand with their necrophiliac-like love of corporations and the super-rich rich. Then there is their anti-science and anti-intellectual and pro-religion (pro-ancient mythology) worldview. Their complete lack of compassion for the poor, for veterans, for women, for homosexuals and for minorities just adds to the mix. Finally, they are characterized by a complete indifference to the truth-- blatant lying in pursuit of their goals means nothing to them. Overall, they are characterized by extreme sociopathy, and everyone who votes for a Republican is either blindly ignorant, brainwashed or a sociopath themselves. Republicans are complete tools of the evil PTB and will be the downfall of humanity. They must be defeated this November if there is any chance for the future.

I am not talking about Obama so much here. He is basically a moderate Republican and has done many terrible things in office. However, Romney is worse-- he is truly scary, I have to say. He seems willing to embrace the worst of the Republicans in pursuit for power, and is just a terrible candidate and a very weird person. In other words, he embodies a standard Republican sociopath in every way.

Mostly, I am talking about Republican congressman, senators, and governors. These by and large, are the sickening sociopaths I am referring to and for any progress to be made in this country-- for any hope for the future-- we need to get these people out of office.

It's worth noting that I started this blog almost 8 years ago now (August 2004), mainly as a way to try to work on getting Bush out of office in the November 2004 election, with 9/11 and the Iraq war being my main concerns about Bush. Before 9/11 I was a partisan Democrat , and despite my research into deep politics and conspiracies over the past 8 years, I still lean Democratic. By no means are Democrats an ideal party, but by and large, I agree with their platform. The main problem with Democrats is that they tend to lean conservative. True liberal Democrats, a la Dennis Kucinich, I have no major problems with.

Republicans must be stopped-- but it still baffles me that they remain as popular as they do.

Nothing Quite Lifts My Mood Like Chris Hedges

Or not:

The ideologues of rapacious capitalism, like members of a primitive cult, chant the false mantra that natural resources and expansion are infinite. They dismiss calls for equitable distribution as unnecessary. They say that all will soon share in the “expanding” wealth, which in fact is swiftly diminishing. And as the whole demented project unravels, the elites flee like roaches to their sanctuaries. At the very end, it all will come down like a house of cards.

Civilizations in the final stages of decay are dominated by elites out of touch with reality. Societies strain harder and harder to sustain the decadent opulence of the ruling class, even as it destroys the foundations of productivity and wealth. Karl Marx was correct when he called unregulated capitalism “a machine for demolishing limits.” This failure to impose limits cannibalizes natural resources and human communities. This time, the difference is that when we go the whole planet will go with us. Catastrophic climate change is inevitable. Arctic ice is in terminal decline. There will soon be so much heat trapped in the atmosphere that any attempt to scale back carbon emissions will make no difference. Droughts. Floods. Heat waves. Killer hurricanes and tornados. Power outages. Freak weather. Rising sea levels. Crop destruction. Food shortages. Plagues.

ExxonMobil, BP and the coal and natural gas companies—like the colonial buffalo hunters who left thousands of carcasses rotting in the sun after stripping away the hides, and in some cases carrying away only the tongues—will never impose rational limits on themselves. They will exploit, like the hustlers before them who eliminated the animals that sustained the native peoples of the Great Plains, until there is nothing left to exploit. Collective suicide is never factored into quarterly profit reports. Forget all those virtuous words they taught you in school about our system of government. The real words to describe American power are “plunder,” “fraud,” “criminality,” “deceit,” “murder” and “repression.”

At least he suggests a fighting spirit at the end. It really is a dire looking time, with stark realities of global warming on us, and way too many people denying it or ignoring it and not enough people doing enough to work against it.

33 of the Day

NY Daily News: "Tom Cruise’s ‘33’ problem: He’s split with all 3 of his wives when they hit that age (and the number has meaning in Scientology, too)"

And, wow-- Scientology is freaking insane, one would have to be seriously fucked up to get into it knowingly.
