Impeach Obama Now-- Over Abuse of War Powers

That seems to be the only way to stop this unconstitutional bullshit that is getting worse and worse, from Bush to Obama.

Literally al-CIA-duh in Libya

Couldn't get much more obvious than this:
Amid questions over whether al Qaeda is amongst Libya's rebels, the CIA has landed in the tumultuous North African country to provide them support, according to reports.

More than a dozen covert CIA operatives have already been sent to Libya to "lay the groundwork for funneling American aid to the insurgents," reports the National Journal.
The fact is that foreign fighters in Iraq-- that fought the US-- came from these rebel areas of Libya, in high numbers.

Then there is this:
WASHINGTON - The new leader of Libya's opposition military spent the past two decades in suburban Virginia but felt compelled — even in his late-60s — to return to the battlefield in his homeland, according to people who know him.

Khalifa Hifter was once a top military officer for Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, but after a disastrous military adventure in Chad in the late 1980s, Hifter switched to the anti-Gadhafi opposition. In the early 1990s, he moved to suburban Virginia, where he established a life but maintained ties to anti-Gadhafi groups.

Late last week, Hifter was appointed to lead the rebel army, which has been in chaos for weeks. He is the third such leader in less than a month, and rebels interviewed in Libya openly voiced distrust for the most recent leader, Abdel Fatah Younes, who had been at Gadhafi's side until just a month ago.
(snip)

Since coming to the United States in the early 1990s, Hifter lived in suburban Virginia outside Washington, D.C. Badr said he was unsure exactly what Hifter did to support himself, and that Hifter primarily focused on helping his large family.
Apparently, Hifter's name can be spelled in other ways, such as Hafter, but the media have used the formulation most like "Hitler".

Radiation News

Surprise:
As Americans focus on March Madness and Dancing With the Stars instead of the radioactive plume spreading all across the country, the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) is attempting to make the mainstream media cover up of the Fukushima cloud a bit easier.

The agency now notorious for its infamous claim that the air was safe to breathe after 9/11 is now seeking to raise the PAGs (Protective Action Guides) to levels vastly higher than those at which they are currently set allowing for more radioactive contamination of the environment and the general public in the event of a radioactive disaster. (snip)

According to PEER (Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility), the new standards would drastically raise the levels of radiation allowed in food, water, air, and the general environment. PEER, a national organization of local, state, and federal employees who had access to internal EPA emails, claims that the new standards will result in a “nearly 1000-fold increase for exposure to strontium-90, a 3000 to 100,000-fold hike for exposure to iodine-131; and an almost 25,000 rise for exposure to radioactive nickel-63” in drinking water. This information, as well as the emails themselves were published by Collapsenet on March 24.

In addition to raising the level of permissible radiation in the environment, PEER suggests that the standards of cleanup after a radioactive emergency will actually be reduced. As a result, radioactive cleanup thresholds will be vastly lowered and, by default, permissible levels of radiation will be vastly increased in this manner as well.

And check out the 33 along with this bad news:
Earlier on Wednesday, Japan’s nuclear safety agency said seawater tested near the Fukushima Daiichi plant was found to contain sharply increased levels of radioactive iodine.

The sampling, taken on Tuesday about 300 yards off the coast from the plant, was found to contain iodine 131 at 3,355 times the safety standard, said Hidehiko Nishiyama, deputy director general of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency. He said the readings posed no immediate threat to public health, and no fishing was being conducted in the area.

In recent days, the announcements of mounting contaminated water in the plant, as well as the discovery of plutonium traces in the soil outside the facility and an increasingly dangerous environment for plant workers have forced government officials to acknowledge the dangerous side effects of measures taken to keep nuclear fuel cool.

Republicans Actually Do Something Useful

Though this is probably going nowhere, sadly:
Two Republican congressmen, Rep. Timothy V. Johnson (IL) and Rep. Justin Amash (MI), have introduced legislation to the House of Representatives that would prevent the United States from carrying out further military operations in Libya until such actions were authorized by Congress.

Johnson and Amash claimed that President Barack Obama lacked the constitutional authority to launch a military assault unless there was an imminent threat against the country.

"The Constitution empowers Congress to declare war and to provide for the Armed Services," Amash said Monday in a statement. "The President cannot constitutionally order an offensive military operation without Congress’s authorization. The argument is not about ‘consultation’ with Congress. It’s more fundamental than that. It’s about whether the President by himself can order an attack on another country when that country has not attacked or is not about to attack the U.S. The Constitution plainly forbids such action."

The Restoring Essential Constitutional Constraints for Libyan Action Involving the Military Act - or RECLAIM Act - would force President Obama to cease the use of force in Libya unless Congress specifically authorized such use of force. The bill would also block funding for the operations.

"Our country has no business enmeshing itself in another country’s civil unrest," Johnson said in a statement released last week. "We were not attacked. Our national security interests are not at stake. It is the American people, through their elected representatives, who are constitutionally empowered to take this kind of action. Not the President."
The constitution??? What are they, some kind of jokers?

Cell Phones: High Tech Tool of the Fascist State

Shocking, only if you have had your head in the sand for the past several years:
But as a German Green party politician, Malte Spitz, recently learned, we are already continually being tracked whether we volunteer to be or not. Cellphone companies do not typically divulge how much information they collect, so Mr. Spitz went to court to find out exactly what his cellphone company, Deutsche Telekom, knew about his whereabouts.

The results were astounding. In a six-month period — from Aug 31, 2009, to Feb. 28, 2010, Deutsche Telekom had recorded and saved his longitude and latitude coordinates more than 35,000 times. It traced him from a train on the way to Erlangen at the start through to that last night, when he was home in Berlin.

Mr. Spitz has provided a rare glimpse — an unprecedented one, privacy experts say — of what is being collected as we walk around with our phones. Unlike many online services and Web sites that must send “cookies” to a user’s computer to try to link its traffic to a specific person, cellphone companies simply have to sit back and hit “record.”

“We are all walking around with little tags, and our tag has a phone number associated with it, who we called and what we do with the phone,” said Sarah E. Williams, an expert on graphic information at Columbia University’s architecture school. “We don’t even know we are giving up that data.”

The Brits Are Behind the Libyan Rebels

A good history of British involvement in Libya. Excerpt:

Muammar Qaddafi and the Libyan revolutionary forces were the first to issue an arrest warrant for Osama bin Laden. The Libyan government spent years warning the world about the very serious threat posed by these Islamic deviants. According to Shayler, western intelligence turned a deaf ear to Libya's warnings because they were actually working with the al Qaeda group inside Libya to bring down Qaddafi and the Libyan revolution.

Anas al Liby is a member of the Libyan al-Qaeda cell. He remains on the U.S. government’s most wanted list, with a reward of $5 million for his capture, and is wanted for his involvement in the U.S. African embassy bombings. Al Liby was with bin Laden in Sudan before the al Qaeda leader returned to Afghanistan in 1996. Surprisingly, correction, not so surprisingly, despite being a high-level al Qaeda operative, al Liby was granted political asylum in Britain and lived in Manchester until May of 2000.

The claims by Qaddafi and the Libyan revolutionary forces that the rebels in Benghazi are inspired by al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and the serious threat this poses, not only to Libya but to the entire region, are once again falling on deaf ears. Why? Because British intelligence forces, among others, are clearly in collaboration with the rebels in Benghazi - those referred to all over Libya as the “bearded ones” - who have close ties to al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

The evidence for this is overwhelming. The British have a long-standing relationship with the al Qaeda affiliated Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, based inside Libya. The British also have an historical relationship with the Wahhabi/Salafi brand of Islam, espoused today by Ikhwan al Muslimeen (Muslim Brotherhood) and their offshoots, including al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.

I know very little about alternative stories to the bombing of PanAm 103 which was supposedly done by Libyan terrorists. But almost certainly there was a deeper conspiracy, probably with British involvement. FWIW, Wiki has a page filled with various Pan Am 103 bombing CTs.

33 of the Day

Lauren Martino-- 18 year old intern of “We Are Not Your Soldiers!”
The military has poured millions of dollars into the research and development of computerized training programs. Sounds like an honest enough cause until you find out that the same technology is being marketed as video games for kids as young as 13. The Defense Department’s Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Air Force, and the Navy have all met with computer industry executives and computer researchers from companies like Pixar, Disney, Paramount, and George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic. In the past ten years, the military has spent more than $33 million to design, launch, and advertise an online military game called “America’s Army” that anyone 13 and older can play for free.
The overall piece, on how the military brainwashes young people, is very good. But then comes this bit: "I am a born and raised New Yorker. I was 8 years old when I saw the first plane hit the World Trade Center." Hard to know exactly what she means here-- did she actually SEE the plane hit in reality? Still, makes you wonder, especially coupled with the 33. (Though to be fair, the 33 was not her invention but is indeed cited in many other articles on the video game.)

April Gallop!

A Top Secret Military Specialist, who was injured in the Pentagon explosion on September 11, 2001 and who sued Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Air Force General Richard Myers for conspiracy, terrorism, constitutional violations, and for personal injuries, will have her case heard by the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit (Connecticut) on April 5.

April Gallop saw disturbing things up close that have not been reported in the media, advises her attorney, William Veale. An independent judicial hearing of that and other evidence will allow review of the official explanation of the events on 9/11, which numerous experts claim to be impossible according to the laws of physics.

On March 15th, 2010, the lower court dismissed with prejudice the case of Gallop v. Cheney, et. al., ruling that the Complaint was frivolous and based on “cynical delusion and fantasy.” Judge Denny Chin refused to consider any other claims, including those backed by testimony of Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta to the 9/11 Commission about former vice president Dick Cheney’s stand down order. Gallop appealed the decision.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, she was ordered by her supervisor to go directly to work at the Pentagon, before dropping off her ten-week-old son Elisha at day care. Amazingly, the infant was given immediate security clearance upon arrival.

The instant Gallop turned on her computer an enormous explosion blew her out of her chair, knocking her momentarily unconscious.

Escaping through the hole reportedly made by Flight 77, she saw no signs of an aircraft – no seats, luggage, metal, or human remains. Her watch (and other clocks nearby) had stopped at 9:30-9:31 a.m., seven minutes before the Pentagon was allegedly struck (at 9:38 a.m.).

The 9/11 Commission reported that “by no later than 9:18 a.m., FAA centers in Indianapolis, Cleveland, and Washington were aware that Flight 77 was missing and that two aircraft had struck the World Trade Center.”

Why then were there no anti-aircraft defenses, Gallop asks, or alarm warnings inside the Pentagon?

Gallop was briefed by officials not to tell her story in public; she also received an email from a Fox News reporter who had been told by the Pentagon not to interview her.

Gallop now believes that officials within the Bush Administration conspired to destroy the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and WTC 7 – the third building brought down at 5:20 p.m. that day – with pre-placed explosives detonated after the planes hit.

Gallop’s case relies on virtually all forms of evidence admissible in court, but significantly, on published scientific evidence that residues of these explosives were found in the rubble after the attacks. In its totality the proffered case establishes that the government hypothesis – that the buildings collapsed due to fire in combination with the airplane impacts – is scientifically untenable.

In addition, Ms. Gallop will, through photographic and other physical evidence, as well as the testimony of a multitude of military and civilian survivors, demonstrate the impossibility of her having lived through the attack on the Pentagon if it had taken place as the government and the defendants claim.

A December 2010 poll conducted by the prestigious Emnid Institute, and reported in the German magazine “Welt der Wunder,” revealed that 89.5% of German respondents do not believe the official story of 9/11. German Federal Judge, Deiter Dieseroth, stated in December 2009 that:

“No independent court has applied legal procedures to review the available evidence on who was responsible for the attacks.”

The stakes in this case are epic, including the possibility of an overwhelming transformation of the world’s understanding of history, not to mention American citizens’ relationship with their government.

The case of Gallop v. Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Myers will be heard on Tuesday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at the Federal Courthouse at 141 Church Street in New Haven, Connecticut.
Documents related to the case can be found here.

Does Anyone NOT Believe

that the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster is far worse than what is being officially admitted?

While perhaps there will not be a full meltdown, a la Chernobyl, it seems as if there will be several partial meltdowns, at each of the stricken reactors, with extremely high levels of radiation released into a very densely populated country.

War Propaganda, Nuclear Catastrophe and Republican False Flags

Even though the military operation for Libya seems limited, the propaganda is strong.

The Fukushima nuclear disaster is bad, and certainly much worse than even what we're being told. Another generation of Japanese poisoned by radiation. But what is the deal with nuclear reactors that store spent fuel rods ABOVE the reactor core? It seem ridiculously stupid, and destined for catastrophe. Unless that is the point...

Finally--
An Indiana prosecutor and Republican activist has resigned after emails show he suggested Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker stage a fake attack on himself to discredit unions protesting his budget repair bill.

The Republican governor signed a bill on March 11 that eliminates most union rights for public employees.

In an email from February 19, Indiana deputy prosecutor Carlos F. Lam told Walker the situation presented "a good opportunity for what’s called a ‘false flag’ operation."

The Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism discovered the email among tens of thousands released to the public last week following a lawsuit by the Isthmus and the Associated Press.

"If you could employ an associate who pretends to be sympathetic to the unions' cause to physically attack you (or even use a firearm against you), you could discredit the unions," Lam said in his email.

David Lindorff Also Thinks Raymond Davis Was Involved in False-Flag Bombings in Pakistan

In this post, I suspected the CIA agent arrested in Pakistan was involved in false-flag bombings, mostly as a hunch. But Lindorff reveals here that Davis had pictures of mosques in his camera, and that he was involved in promoting sectarian violence. He also discusses the recent killing of nine Afghan boys and thinks it was done on purpose. The really new and disturbing info is about 9 minutes in. Although I am used to thinking about the evil our government does, this is still pretty stunning.

Today's 33

This article claims that human pollution is good for plants and other living (swamp) things!
Garbage mounds left by prehistoric humans might have driven the formation of many of the Florida Everglades' tree islands, distinctive havens of exceptional ecological richness in the sprawling marsh that are today threatened by human development.

Tree islands are patches of relatively high and dry ground that dot the marshes of the Everglades. Typically a meter (3.3 feet) or so high, many of them are elevated enough to allow trees to grow. They provide a nesting site for alligators and a refuge for birds, panthers, and other wildlife.

Bonus human pollution 33:
Minuscule quantities of the radioactive isotope xenon-133 were detected by sensors in Washington state Wednesday and Thursday and in Sacramento, Calif., on Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency and federal Department of Energy said in a joint statement issued Friday.

“The origin was determined to be consistent with a release from the Fukushima reactors in northern Japan,” the statement said.

Libyan Rebels Are Al-CIA-Duh?

This is typically twisted:
The eastern Libyan city of Darnah sent more fighters to Iraq than any other single city or town, according to the West Point report. It noted that 52 militants came to Iraq from Darnah, a city of just 80,000 people (the second-largest source of fighters was Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which has a population of more than 4 million).

Benghazi, the capital of Libya’s provisional government declared by the anti-Qaddafi rebels, sent in 21 fighters, again a disproportionate number of the whole.

If the 2007 captured records revealed the Eastern Libyan participation in the anti-coalition forces militancy in Iraq one could imagine the Banghazi-Darnah export of Islamists since then.

“Libyans were more fired up to travel to Iraq to kill Americans than anyone else in the Arabic-speaking world,” Andrew Exum, a counterinsurgency specialist and former Army Ranger noted in a blog posting recently. “This might explain why those rebels from Libya's eastern provinces are not too excited about U.S. military intervention. It might also give some pause to those in the United States so eager to arm Libya's rebels.”
This discussion between Webster Tarpley and Alex Jones on the topic is fairly interesting.

The National Surveillance State

A nasty offshoot of the National Security State:
During the last part of the twentieth century the United States began developing a new form of governance that features the collection, collation, and analysis of information about populations both in the United States and around the world. This new form of governance is the National Surveillance State.

In the National Surveillance State, the government uses surveillance, data collection, collation and analysis to identify problems, to head off potential threats, to govern populations, and to deliver valuable social services. The National Surveillance State is a special case of the Information State - a state that tries to identify and solve problems of governance through the collection, collation, analysis and production of information.

The War on Terror may be the most familiar justification for the rise of the National Surveillance State, but it is hardly the sole or even the most important cause. Increasing use of surveillance and data mining by public and private entities is a predictable result of accelerating developments in information technology. In fact, most surveillance in the National Surveillance State is likely to be in private hands.

The question is not whether we will have a surveillance state in the years to come, but what sort of state we will have. The National Surveillance State poses three major dangers for our freedom. The first danger is that government will create a parallel track of preventative law enforcement that routes around the traditional guarantees of the Bill of Rights. The second danger is that traditional law enforcement and social services will increasingly resemble the parallel track. Once governments have access to powerful surveillance and data mining technologies, there will be enormous political pressure to use them in everyday law enforcement and for delivery of government services. Private power and public-private cooperation pose a third danger. Because the Constitution does not reach private parties, government has increasing incentives to rely on private enterprise to collect and generate information for it, thus circumventing constitutional guarantees. Corporate business models, in turn, lead companies to amass and analyze more and more information about individuals in order to target new customers and reject undesirable ones.

The Administrative and Welfare State raised problems not only for the Constitution, but also for the rule of law itself. The same is true for the National Surveillance State. Changing methods of government demand new strategies to preserve constitutional values and democratic self-government. We mastered at least some of the problems caused by the rise of the Administrative and Welfare state; we must hope that we can do so the same for the National Surveillance State, which is already here.

Our Evil Overlords

Have decided the proper way to commemorate the 8th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq is-- to start a new war on a muslim country. There was not even any debate on this one-- they just did it.

Interesting article on Obama and Libya from Tarpley here. (Via his twitter feed, which may be worth following.) The sad things are that this new action will cost innocent lives, and that Libya is actually a fairly advanced, prosperous country, for Africa.

33 and Fukushima

I already noted here the double 33 in the date for the Japan mega-quake, and of course there is the issue that 33 is associated with the PTB and all things nuclear.

Here is a blatant Fukushima 33:
70% of fuel rods damaged at Fukushima No. 1 reactor, 33% at No.2

Tip to "Rob", who also sent me a news story he found with a similar 33, repeated.

This guy also notes the 33, and notes some other creepy numerology:
if you live in some western countries such as Canada and USA, the date when the earthquake struck was 10th March . If you add 9/11/01 + 3/10/11 = 12/21/12 which is the date prophesied by the Mayan calendar to be the end of an age and which some have interpreted as the end of the world . ( American dates )

There was a video of the damaged plant that was quite striking on youtube. I wanted to post it, but it is removed now. There was a LOT of damage to the different reactors.

The Curse of Obama-- Not Even Sure WHAT This Means

Obama, of course, is not at fault for the disaster in Japan. (or IS he? --ed)

But just as the president had to explain his newfound support for offshore drilling, which came just weeks before last year's BP oil spill, his administration must again defend an energy-related industry even as images of explosions at two Japanese nuclear reactors loop on cable television.

“President Obama has shown very poor judgment on where and when to ‘agree’ with Republicans, and energy has been a prime example,” Drew Westen, an Emory University neuroscience professor who has advised Democrats on communications, wrote in a post Monday on POLITICO’s Arena forum.

“He proposed expanding offshore oil drilling two weeks before the BP disaster and did the same for nuclear power just months before the Japanese disaster,” Westin said. “God help us if an earthquake of this magnitude had occurred near a U.S. nuclear plant.”

Obama’s all-in on nuclear power has been building since he came into office. He pushed cap-and-trade legislation that federal studies showed would lead to construction of 100 reactors and backed spending on research into new plant designs.
(snip)

Administration officials insisted Monday there are no plans to shift U.S. energy policy away from nuclear power in the wake of the Japan disaster. Deputy Energy Secretary Dan Poneman, at the daily White House press briefing, said safety is of “paramount concern” to the president but that the nation’s 104 reactors would keep operating.
But of COURSE!

More Children Slaughtered in Afghanistan

KABUL (Reuters) - An air strike by NATO-led forces killed two children as they were watering fields in Afghanistan's eastern Kunar province late on Monday, an Afghan official and lawmaker said.

The deaths occurred weeks after tensions between Afghan President Hamid Karzai and his Western backers were inflamed by the killing of nine children who were collecting firewood in the same province.

Last year was the most lethal for non-combatants since the Taliban were ousted from power in 2001, with a 15 percent rise in civilian casualties to 2,777 according to a report by the United Nations last week. The report said insurgents were responsible for three quarters of the deaths.

Abdul Marjan, district chief of Chawki in Kunar where the two brothers, aged 10 and 15, where killed on Monday, said the boys had been working on irrigation channels before they were hit.

"They might have been mistaken for insurgents as they were carrying spades on their shoulders," Marjan told Reuters.
Well, fuck-- they were asking for it, by carrying tools on their shoulders, weren't they?

Please protest against the madness this Saturday.

No More Nuclear Power Plants

Or AT LEAST build safer nuke plants.

But it should be obvious by now that we can move away from this dangerous, extremely toxic technology-- there are so many safer alternatives, if we can just invest in the infrastructure necessary. While the PTB and their toady politicians are clearly intent on poisoning humanity, we don't need to put up with this.

Empire of Horror

The never-ending hypocrisy of the US government:
Guess who turned out to be the biggest asshole in the world? Your boyfriend, Barack Obama. The latest outrage in the Bradley Manning situation involves Obama’s direct involvement in the firing of State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley — because Crowley committed the sin of condemning the torture and abuse of U.S. Army Private Bradley Manning, who has been held in increasingly Soviet-esque solitary confinement since his arrest for giving WikiLeaks the diplomatic data that has so far helped topple two Arab dictatorships and launched democratic revolutions in another half-dozen Muslim nations. Anyway, Crowley’s semi-public remarks led to a reporter finally asking Obama about Manning’s awful treatment at Quantico, and Obama sneered and said the insane abuse of this American citizen is “appropriate.” And then Crowley was fired.

Remember, if you just “opt out” of the 2012 presidential election — and by “you,” we mean “all Democrats” — some awful Republican will become president and then none of us will have to “feel bad” about full-scale labor wars and nationwide shutdowns and the complete collapse of the American police state/kleptocracy. Let it collapse! It’s not like your 401k is ever going to hit 2007 levels again, no matter how much of your stretched salary goes into that black hole, year after year. It’s not like there’s a point to any of this!

(snip)

Remember how we all howled with laughter/disgust when Bush said, “We don’t torture”? Because of course the United States had turned into a Stalin-style Empire of Horror and we had taxpayer-supported horror prisons all over the world and the stacks of naked Iraqis and raped little children and people getting their fingernails pulled out and waterboarded and all that. Well now we have an administration that not only continues such evil as official U.S. policy, but is now actually torturing American citizens and standing up for it, right there from the presidential podium in the White House.

Chris Floyd also has some choice words for this madness:
To be sure, Crowley hastened to assure his audience -- an MIT seminar -- that he thought Manning belonged behind bars for throwing some light on the violent, witless and criminal grindings of the American war machine. But his remarks did drag the Obama Administration's torture regimen into the light of day. Even the sainted Nobel Peace Prize Laureate his own self was forced to address the issue when he was asked in a press conference about Crowley's statement. Obama then issued his now-notorious defense of his torture of Manning, say that he had checked with the people who were torturing Manning and they said that their torture of Manning was OK. And that, said the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, was good enough for him.

After this, it was obvious that Crowley's days were numbered -- or rather, his hours were numbered, for he scarcely lasted more than a day before the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate forced him from office for the high crime of causing the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate to face the momentary discomfort of having to publicly address his torture of an Amerian soldier.

To his credit, Crowley did not go quietly, saying that he stood by his criticism of Manning's treatment -- which includes forced, public nakedness -- and adding that his MIT remarks "were intended to highlight the broader, even strategic impact of discreet actions undertaken by national security agencies every day and their impact on our global standing and leadership."

Of course, one should not now turn Crowley into some kind of moral exemplar. For the fact remains that he has faithfully and willingly served the Obama Administration as it has perpetrated a series of war crimes, eviscerations of constitutional liberties and abuses of human rights at home and around the world -- while protecting its predecessor from the slightest hint of investigation or prosecution for doing the same.

Crowley was proud to serve in an administration that is brazenly carrying out an illegal war of "extrajudicial killing" in the non-belligerent state of Pakistan -- a brutal blunderbuss of a campaign that has killed hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent civilians.

Crowley was proud to serve a president who sent his own national security honcho to Congress to affirm, under oath, that the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate has the power -- and the right -- to kill any human being on earth, at home or abroad, if he arbitrarily declares that his target is a "terrorist threat."

Crowley was proud to serve as a top spokesman for a government which has now far outstripped all of its predecessors as a money-grubbing merchant of death to some of the most odious regimes on the planet.

Nuclear Plant Disaster from 3/11/11 Earthquake-- "Japan Syndrome"?

(UPDATED 3/13)

The explosion happened at 3:40pm
. 34 is not a good number for this sort of thing, as it may signify quarantine escape.

The extent of the problem at the plant is not known, supposedly the damage is being contained with minimal radiation release.
WASHINGTON — An explosion at a nuclear power plant in northern Japan on Saturday blew the roof off one building, brought down walls and caused a radiation leak of unspecified proportions, Japanese officials said, after Friday’s huge earthquake caused critical failures in the plant’s cooling system.

Television images showed a huge cloud of white-gray smoke from the explosion. Soon afterward, government officials said an evacuation zone around the plant had been doubled, to 12 miles. The chief cabinet secretary, Yukio Edano, confirmed earlier news reports of an explosion at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, 15o miles north of Tokyo, saying: “We are looking into the cause and the situation and we’ll make that public when we have further information.” He was speaking amid fears that a disastrous meltdown could be imminent because of critical cooling failures at that plant and another nearby, Daini, after both were shut down.

Images on Japanese television showed that the walls of one building had crumbled, leaving only a skeletal metal frame standing with smoke billowing from the plant. The Associated Press reported that the damaged building housed a nuclear reactor, though that report was not immediately verified by nuclear officials. The cause of the explosion was unclear, with some experts speculating that it may have resulted from a hydrogen build-up.

There was no immediate confirmation of news reports that the container of the nuclear reactor itself had escaped damage.

Bloomberg News quoted Tokyo Electric Power Co., the plant’s operator, as saying the explosion happened “near” the No. 1 reactor at around 3:40 p.m. Japan time on Saturday. Four people were reported injured. The explosion came roughly 26 and a half hours after an 8.9-magnitude earthquake caused a deadly tsunami that killed hundreds and caused both plants to be shut down. Authorities issued broad evacuation orders on Saturday for people living near the plants and warned that small amounts of radioactive material were likely to leak out.
Just to note that 3/11/11 can be construed as a double 33 (3 x 11, twice).

This article has the more conventional 33 inserted, to give credit to the PTB for all this wonderfulness-- "The Japanese plant was damaged by Friday's 8.9-magnitude earthquake, which sent a 10-meter (33-foot) tsunami ripping through towns and cities across the northeast coast."

UPDATE 3/13--

Looks bad:
TOKYO — Japanese officials struggled on Sunday to contain a widening nuclear crisis in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake and tsunami, saying they presumed that partial meltdowns had occurred at two crippled reactors and that they were bracing for a second explosion, even as they faced serious cooling problems at four more reactors.

The emergency appeared to be the worst involving a nuclear plant since the Chernobyl disaster 25 years ago. The developments at two separate nuclear plants prompted the evacuation of more than 200,000 people. Japanese officials said they had also ordered up the largest mobilization of their Self-Defense Forces since World War II to assist in the relief effort.

On Saturday, Japanese officials took the extraordinary step of flooding the crippled No. 1 reactor at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, 170 miles north of Tokyo, with seawater in a last-ditch effort to avoid a nuclear meltdown. That came after an explosion caused by hydrogen that tore the outer wall and roof off the building housing the reactor, although the steel containment of the reactor remained in place.
This article doesn't have a "33" but has a clear "three" motif, with "three" or "3" mentioned several times.

Here's a more obvious three-three, in an AP piece: "An additional reactor was added to the list early Sunday, for a total of six - three at the Dai-ichi complex and three at another nearby complex."

This post at DU is good:
Let me remind you of something crucial when it comes to nuclear power incidents and accidents.
People lie. When it comes to nuclear incidents and accidents, plant owners, government officials, and the media lie. If they can't cover up an incident, they will minimize it. Since radiation not only kills immediately, but also over time, the plant and government officials will simply say that all is good, nobody has died, meanwhile, years later, cancer cluster pop up and people who were exposed die prematurely .

When a crisis, such as TMI or Chernobyl, comes down, the danger is minimized. Since most folks don't have a Geiger counter, they feel that they can get away with minimizing the amount of exposure. Only later does it turn out to be major.

We've seen this pattern followed for years and decades. Minor releases of radioactive material are covered up for years, if not forever. Major incidents, such as TMI and Chernobyl, are downplayed, sometimes to ludicrous extents, until the scope of the devastation simply can't be hidden anymore. And even afterwards, the damage is minimized. Proponents of nuclear power like to point to TMI and say that no deaths occurred, all the while ignoring the fact that there are cancer clusters surrounding the downwind side of TMI, one full of thyroid cancers and childhood leukemia.

We're seeing the same game being played out in Japan. All yesterday, the damage was minimized, the threat was minimized. Vague statements that were trying to be reassuring were issued, and all the buzz words were used. Yet the situation continued to worsen until now we have the building that houses the reactor and containment vessel exploding, and yet the dissembling continues as authorities hastily rush to mention that radiation levels are going down.

Nuclear power has been shoved down the throats of the people in this world for the past sixty years, despite the dangers, despite the threat, despite the fact that it is now the most expensive form of energy production going. A small group of powerful people have a vested monetary interest in continuing down the nuclear path, and they are able to exert their influence to put out lies and propaganda. Don't fall for it. The evidence of nuclear's dangers are apparent in the cancer clusters of Pennsylvania. They are evident in a 2,800 square mile dead zone in Ukraine. And they are being played out for us now, on the coast of Japan.

Don't fall for the lies, spin and propaganda.

Relatedly, this tool to compare before and after satellite shots of Japanese cities is really interesting.

Finally, remember: the China Syndrome came to the WTC on 9/11.

Cable TV War Pigs Snort and Snuffle Over Libya

Does cable news exist solely for evil fucks to spout their propaganda?

I sit at my desk every morning listening to the sounds of cable television in the air. Now a lot of it is about Libya. And I'm just blown away by the constant, almost unanimous chorus in favor of some sort of active, military involvement in the country. At this moment, I'm listening to some person say that it just doesn't make sense -- that it's inconsistent -- for the President to announce that it is our national policy that Qaddafi should leave and yet not take military steps to make that happen. I've also heard numerous voices arguing that we 'didn't act' in the Balkans and then didn't act in Rwanda and that we should not make the same mistake today.

This is a wildly different standard for military action than we've ever heard before, even in an era where our interventions have become much more frequent and when they've often been wise and necessary.

By the way-- here's an interesting perspective on the Libya situation, from Fidel Castro: "The Flood of Lies Regarding Libya"

More Wood

So, I wanted to get a sense if anything was really new in Judy Wood's book, so I forced myself to listen to all 5 parts of this recent interview with her on Red Ice radio:
The first three segments or so are really annoying, as it is painful to see someone so willfully deluded and completely determined to reject obvious explanations for the WTC phenomena on 9/11. On top of this, she fabricates evidence, such as the idea that steel WTC columns turned completely to dust as they fell. To make a long story short-- and to re-iterate what we have written here before-- all of the evidence Wood describes can be explained by known phenomena that revolve around the central fact of nuclear demolition.

1) EMP produced by nuclear explosions can explain the odd burning patterns on cars and other odd WTC occurances.

2) nuclear explosions can explain the vaporization of building contents, the dust coming off the falling columns, and the incredibly fine dust produced during the destruction of the towers -- the dust that blew all over and that lingered at ground zero.

3) she was asked about hanging skin-- a sign of nuclear heat exposure-- and dodged the question.

Also-- conventional forces can also explain much-- something Wood seem to go to pains to deny. Many cars simply burned by normal fire. Many damaged cars were moved to make room for other vehicles, and were probably moved in rough, crude ways, leaving them upside-down at times. WTC7 simply burned just on its damaged face. Orange steel pulled from smoking rubble is almost certainly very hot and not some unknown phenomenon. The bath-tub was damaged by falling debris but not completely damaged. There was concern that moving heavy cranes over the bath-tub might weaken the damaged walls. And so on.

Wood really gets suspect when she gets into the Hutchison effect, which appears to be a complete fraud and seems to have very little to do with what happened at the WTC on 9/11.

Then she gets into the hurricane story. Which at first blush sounds striking, but I would bet a lot of money that it was completely predicted by the weather people that it would turn direction before hitting the east coast due to the pressure system coming off the US. And her tie-in of the hurricane energy to the WTC -- a mechanism to transfer the hurricane energy to the WTC-- is totally non-existent. Essentially she says, a lot of energy was used to destroy the WTC and there was a lot of energy in this nearby hurricane, so someone must have harnessed this energy to destroy the WTC. And there were no lasers-- how silly for people to say there were lasers-- even though everyone knows the main DEW that has been developed and capable of any kind of destruction is laser energy.

The only new thing I heard was the magnetometer distortions in Alaska starting about 10am on 9/11. This is almost certainly a complete coincidence, as there is no data to suggest how much variation occurs in these readings on any given day.

So, overall, color me unimpressed, to say the least. I see no reason to buy her book and no reason to think Wood has any new data on DEW at the WTC.

Also, this.

Today's Edition of "They Can't Really Be That Stupid, Can They?"

1) In a case against a New York website owner, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is claiming that merely linking to copyrighted material is a crime.

DHS, along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), seized Brian McCarthy's domain, channelsurfing.net, in late January. The site has now been replaced with a government warning: "This domain has been seized by ICE - Homeland Security Investigations, Special Agent in Charge, New York Office."

2) The 6 dumbest things said at Rep. Peter King’s Muslim radicalization hearing, including "Neo-Nazis don't commit terrorist acts" and "Probing U.S. Muslims is just like probing Nazi war criminals, KKK".

Anti-War Protest March 19th at the White House

Be there, or bear the horrendous sins of your country.

These wars must end. Justice must be brought to the war criminals.

(UPDATED 3/8/11)

UPDATE: This evil, this murder, this madness, must end--
KABUL, Afghanistan — Nine boys collecting firewood to heat their homes in the eastern Afghanistan mountains were killed by NATO helicopter gunners who mistook them for insurgents, according to a statement on Wednesday by NATO, which apologized for the mistake.

The boys, who were 9 to 15 years old, were attacked on Tuesday in what amounted to one of the war’s worst cases of mistaken killings by foreign-led forces. The victims included two sets of brothers. A 10th boy survived.

The NATO statement, which included an unusual personal apology by the commander of the NATO forces in Afghanistan, Gen. David H. Petraeus, said the boys had been misidentified as the attackers of a NATO base earlier in the day. News of the attack enraged Afghans and led to an anti-American demonstration on Wednesday in the village of Nanglam, where the boys were from. The only survivor, Hemad, 11, said his mother had told him to go out with other boys to collect firewood because “the weather is very cold now.”

“We were almost done collecting the wood when suddenly we saw the helicopters come,” said Hemad, who, like many Afghans, has only one name. “There were two of them. The helicopters hovered over us, scanned us and we saw a green flash from the helicopters. Then they flew back high up, and in a second round they hovered over us and started shooting. They fired a rocket which landed on a tree. The tree branches fell over me and shrapnel hit my right hand and my side.”

UPDATE 2: Please watch this:

UPDATE 3: a couple of weeks old but relevant to the madness of the Afghan war-- "U.S. Pulling Back in Afghan Valley It Called Vital to War"

UPDATE 4: Massive fraud from Defense contractors in the war on terror.
"A Pentagon study in January found that it had paid $285 billion in three years to more than 120 contractors accused of fraud or wrongdoing. "

U.S. Has Wasted Tens Of Billions Of Dollars On Contractors In Iraq And Afghanistan
"A new report from a bipartisan commission set up to scrutinize the unprecedented use of contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan concludes that the United States has wasted tens of billions of the nearly $177 billion that has been spent on those contracts and grants since 2002."

UPDATE 5: Woolsey calls out the republicans on the war:

UPDATE 6: How many children must we kill and mangle?
In October and again in December of 2010, our small delegation of Voices for Creative Nonviolence activists met with a large family living in a wretched refugee camp. They had fled their homes in the San Gin district of the Helmand Province after a drone attack killed a mother there and her five children. The woman’s husband showed us photos of his children’s bloodied corpses. His niece, Juma Gul, age 9, had survived the attack. She and I huddled next to each other inside a hut made of mud on a chilly December morning. Juma Gul’s father stooped in front of us and gently unzipped her jacket, showing me that his daughter’s arm had been amputated by shrapnel when the U.S. missile hit their home in San Gin.

Next to Juma Gul was her brother, whose leg had been mangled in the attack. He apparently has no access to adequate medical care and experiences constant pain. The pilot of the attacking drone, perhaps controlling it from as far away as Creech Air Force Base here in the United States, knows nothing of this family or of the pain that he or she helped inflict. Nor do the commanders, the people who set up the base, the people who pay for it with their taxes, and the people who persist in electing candidates intent on indefinitely prolonging the war.

UPDATE: 3/10/11-- Rep. Dennis Kucinich introduces bill in Congress to end Afghanistan war:
On the floor of the House, Kucinich said, "Today a bipartisan coalition of Members of Congress has introduced a privileged resolution calling for a vote in this congress to end the war in Afghanistan."

"More than 60 percent of the American people want us out of there. This war is already approaching a cost of a half a trillion dollars. We have Americans who are losing their jobs; their wages are being knocked down."

"We have Americans losing their homes, losing their retirement security; they can't send their kids to colleges they want. And we are spending all this money on a war that is a waste of time, money, blood, and treasure to try to prop up a corrupt regime in Afghanistan."

"Now, our occupation over there is fueled an insurgency. It's time for this Congress to take the Constitutional responsibility under Article 1, Section 8. We haven't done that with respect to Afghanistan. It's time for us to do that."

American Nuremburg Prosecutor Dismayed by US Policies

Powerful essay:
I witnessed the horrors of World War Two. I was honorably discharged as a Sergeant of Infantry, and the War Department awarded me five battle stars for not having been killed or wounded. I had seen horrors which are really indescribable - the inhumanity of human beings to other human beings.

The first thing to understand is the mentality of those who made the war and the atrocities possible. The crimes of war are not limited to one particular country or one type of person. And I thought I'll talk to you about someone you've probably never heard of and a trial you've probably never heard of before. I was the Chief Prosecutor in a murder trial that convicted, 22 defendants convicted of murdering in cold blood over a million people, including hundreds of thousands of children, shot one at a time. What kind of people can commit such abominable crimes and for what reasons?

The lead defendant was a gentleman was SS General Otto Ohlendorf, Doctor Otto Ohlendorf, father of five children. He was polite and I'm sure he was kind to his cats and dogs. He sent his top secret reports to SS Headquarters in Berlin, saying how many Jews , Gypsies and others his men had killed in which town as the Wehrmnacht advanced into Poland and the Soviet Union. Unfortunately for them, we fond the complete daily top- secret reports of the massacres.

The quadripartite trial by the International Military Tribunal (IMT) at Nuremberg in 1946 was followed by a dozen lesser-known subsequent proceedings designed to reveal the involvement of broad segments of German society in the commission of Nazi crimes. The man in charge of these subsequent trials, which followed the IMT trial where Robert Jackson was the Chief Prosecutor, was a distinguished lawyer, General Telford Taylor. We discovered this set of reports from these killing squads called Einsatzgruppen (literally Action Groups), which was a name deliberately designed to disguise their mission, They were composed of four units totaling about 3000 men assigned to follow the German troops into Poland and Russia and annihilate all the Jews, as well a Gypsies and some others. I was in charge of the US army office in Berlin assigned to collect evidence for the additional Nuremberg trials. I presented the newly discovered evidence to General Taylor and urged that we start a separate trial against the Einsatzgruppen mass murderers. Taylor recognized the significance of the evidence but was hesitant. "We haven't prepared it. The Pentagon hasn't approved it. We don't have staff. We can't do it." I replied, "You can't let these murderers escape."

I had won a scholarship at Harvard Law School on my exam in criminal law. I had always been interested only in crime prevention as a career. Taylor asked: "Can you do it in addition to your other work?" And I said, "Sure!" So I was appointed Chief Prosecutor, I rested my case in two days. We gave the defendants copies of every piece of evidence we intended to produce. Their arguments in rebuttal took about five months. Their alibis didn't stand up.

The lead defendant, Dr. General Otto Ohlendorf, explained why it was that he reported that 90,000 Jews had been eliminated, they never used the word "murder" - He calmly declared that it was necessary in self-defense...

"What do you mean, 'self defense'? Germany attacked Poland, Norway, Holland, Sweden, and France, etc. Nobody attacked Germany. Where's the self-defense?"

"Well," he said, "we knew the Soviets were planning to attack us, so we had to attack them in self-defense."

"Well, why did you kill all the Jews?"

"Well, everybody knows the Jews were in favor of the Bolsheviks, so you have to kill all the Jews too."

"Why the little children? Why did you kill all the little children?"

"Well, if they grow up and they become enemies of Germany when they find out what happened to their parents that would be dangerous a threat to our long-range security, so we'd better get rid of them too."

He was saying to me, "Don't you see the logic of it all?" And so he explained that.

I said, "Didn't you have any qualms about killing all these people, little children and all that?"

"No," he said, "because we relied on the head of state, Hitler. He had more information than I had, and he told us that the Soviets planned to attack, so it was necessary in presumed self-defense."

In our military jargon, we call such assaults a "preemptive first strike", The US military policy today does not preclude first strike by the United States in order to prevent a presumed attack from another side. That Ohlendorf argument was considered by three American judges at Nuremberg, and they sentenced him and twelve others to death by hanging. So it's very disappointing to find that my government today is prepared to do something for which we hanged Germans as war criminals.

After long deliberation, I concluded that the best and perhaps the only way to prevent mass atrocities was to stop war-making itself. Stop war-making?. Well, how do you stop war-making? Is it possible?

I began to study that subject in great detail. My conclusions are laid bare in my books, articles and lectures. They are available free on my web site. I learned that, if you want to have a peaceful society, any society, whether it is in Boca, or in the United States or in the world, you need three components. You need laws, to define what's permissible and what's not permissible; you need courts, in order to determine whether the laws have been violated and to serve as a forum for settlements and you need a system of effective enforcement.

(snip)

Our government has gone to great pains to be sure that no American will be tried by any international criminal court for the supreme crime of illegal war-making. In condemning others for that crime we also proclaimed that the law must apply equally to everyone. It is carved on the entrance to our Supreme Court that promises "Equal Justice Under Law." Why does the US foul its own nest by failure to uphold the principles of Nuremberg which inspired the world?

(snip)

Progress is never made in a straight line. At the end of May 2010, I was invited by the German government to come to Berlin to be awarded the Iron Cross, which is their highest Medal of Honor. I had some hesitation in accepting it. On reflection, I decided that it would be unfair to rebuff the young generation for crimes committed by the Nazis 70 years ago. I was proud to accept the honor as a sign of recognition by Germany that the Nuremberg trials were fair and a contribution to world peace and human rights.

From Berlin I flew to Kampala, Uganda. to attend a two-week conference to review the Statute of the International Criminal Court. The United States had always been strongly opposed to including the crime of aggression within the jurisdiction of the ICC. They didn't want it listed as a crime at all. They did not succeed ,at least not completely. In 1998, the Rome Statute listed aggression as an international crime but did not give the court authority to try aggressors until certain onerous conditions were met;, including a new definition and added guarantees that Security Council rights would be respected. Despite concessions, the US voted against acceptance of the Rome Treaty when it was adopted overwhelmingly by 120 in favor with only 7 against, including the US and several that we had denounced as "Rogue States.".

As planned, the issue of aggression that had been deferred in Rome 1998 came up again in Kampala in 2010. It was sadly ironic that Germany, in awarding me their Iron Cross was, in effect, saying that the Nuremberg trials were right!" And what did the Americans say in Kampala? "Nuremberg? Forget it. That was then. Now is now. We don't want aggression in. We want it out." Now that scares a lot of people in the world because we are a very powerful nation. When the United States says "No" those who are recipients of economic and military aid from the United States, are not inclined to say "Yes". The issue of aggression was postponed again, this time to 2017 at the earliest. As matters now stand, the ICC has no authority to try anyone for the supreme crime.

Why is US taking a position which to many may seem hypocritical, arrogant and frightening.? Harold Koh, the State Department Legal Counsel is a very fine fellow and a good lawyer. He served as spokesman for the U.S. delegation of about 15 people. I had already written to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen. I noted that I heard a speech of his saying that he would rather deter a war than fight one. I agreed but pointed out that you can't deter a war at the same time that you tell the criminals that if they commit aggression there is no court competent to try them. A month passed before I received a reply. The Chairman praised me for my services to my country but noted that there were legal problems involved. He passed the buck to the State Department Legal Advisor.

The legal objections voiced by he United States are not persuasive. The ICC Statute says specifically that no one can be tried for aggression if his country has not ratified the Statute. Two-thirds of the US Senate has not agreed to reify the ICC Statute. If any nation is able and willing to try its own national for any crime listed in the ICC Statute, the ICC must give priority jurisdiction to that state. The ICC must also stop if the Security Council puts a hold on the proceedings. If the US is really worried about prejudiced ICC judges or unclear formulations all that is necessary is for Congress to add a sentence to our Federal Criminal Code, which says, "Any crime listed in the Statute of the International Criminal Court is punishable in the courts of the United States." US courts would have primary jurisdiction and the ICC would be cut out. Any competent lawyer can find fault and quibble about the language of any law. What is the US really worried about?

(snip)

I've just about giving up on trying to persuade diplomats. I've given them a lot of pep talks. And they say, "Great! Great speech." I did it again at a Gala dinner before the opening at Kampala. I reminded them that over 50 million people had died in World War Two which prompted the world to create the UN and the Nuremberg Principles for a more humane rule of law. I asked by what right do we now throw that way and by what right do we betray the hopes of the young people that they won't have to go through the same thing?" Former Secretary-General Kofi Annan was there as well as the current S.G. Ban Ki Moon and many ambassadors. Many came up and slapped me n the back for a great speech. In the end, they followed the lead of the United States. Like the mice in Aesop's fables, mo one was ready to bell the cat. And so once more they postponed any further consideration of the crime of aggression until 2017 – at the earliest. Once again Power has triumphed over Reason.

So there we are. We have a difficult world, and really it's up to the young people to do something about it. Do what your heart tells you is the right thing - stop glorifying war. Do it as best you can. We are spending $2 billion every day on the military. We have a stronger military than every nation in the world combined. What for? No one wants the US to be the self-appointed policeman of he world. The country is on the verge of bankruptcy. We are denying people the elements of health and education by wasting our money on weapons of mass destruction that we cannot use. If you cannot reach and persuade politicians to reverse this disastrous policy, you may have to take to the streets. What else can we do?

America is a great democracy, and in every democracy it's normal, and it should be that way, that people have differences of opinion. But a democracy can only work if its people are being told the truth. You cannot run a country as Hitler did, feeding the public a pack of lies to frighten them that they are being threatened so it's justified to kill people you don't even know. You cannot do that. It's not logical, it's not decent, it's not moral and it's not helpful. When an unmanned bomber from a secret American airfield fires rockets into a little Pakistan or Afghan village and thereby kills or maims unknown numbers of innocent people, what is the effect of that?

Every victim will hate Americans forever and will be willing to die killing as many Americans as possible. Where there is no court of justice wild vengeance is the alternative.

I'm a law-man. I believe in the rule of law. I see that we are provoking what we condemn as dangerous terrorism. The country is terrified. The freedom from fear that President Roosevelt talked about doesn't exist in America today, Armies of airport guards check the shoes of old ladies to see if they've got a bomb hidden there. What have we come to? It's not my world any more. My future is behind me. But, for your sake, and for those who have grand-children, make up your mind. Speak up when you can. Talk to your Congressman. Talk to your friends. Talk to your enemies. It's up to the lawyers to lay down the rules and create the courts. We're doing that, slowly and with difficulty. We need help from the public. You are the public.

Crappy, Heavily Edited NYPD Helicopter Video Shows Intense Orange Glow After Destruction of South Tower

See 4:05--

Accompanying article:
A newly released video shows the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attack from the vantage point of a NYPD helicopter.

According to Gawker, the National Institute of Standards and Technology requested the 17-minute video through the Freedom of Information Act, and the video was sent anonymously to the secret-sharing website Cryptome, which posted it. The Institute investigated the 9/11 attacks.

A warning to readers: The video, posted below, is difficult to watch--and voices on the soundtrack can be heard cursing as the horrific attack unfolds
The video IS difficult to watch because it is so crappy and jumpy. Not sure why this is so significant anyway, as I have seen all this stuff before. Funny how they say "as the attacks unfold", when it is just the towers going down. As if the towers being blown were the attacks (not the planes).

In any case, the orange glow is remarkable.

Oh No-- Not the NWO!

So, this discussion is reasonably interesting-- their spiel sounds good anyway. Those NWO bastards are up to no good! The guy have on for Alex Jones is so much easier to listen to. Here, Corbett sounds basically like a Jones clone.

But, maybe it's just me. I start to feel kind of skeptical about all the NWO references when they are bantered about so blithely. I'm not saying there is no grand conspiracy at all, but personally, the deep deep deep conspiracy espoused by Anonymous Physicist seems to explain the nature of our world more than the NWO conspiracy. The NWO just seems overly simplistic.

First of all, the NWO concept never made much sense to me-- that some elites were trying to get one world government. WHY??? What is the point? They already have plenty of money and power. What more do they need?

Second, listen how they talk about China. First, they talk about how the NWO is trying to destabilize Libya in order to deprive China of a valuable oil supply. Which is fine-- quite plausible. But then they talk about how China is the next big thing for the NWO-- how the US is being taken down and China will be built up and become the big superpower. Again, plausible, but the NWO can't be doing both these things! It's like the NWO is just a lazy way of ascribing blame for everything.

Then the NWO, via Israeli intelligence, is being blamed for some computer worm that affected Iranian nuclear facility computers. Perhaps-- but what is the point? What is the endgame here? It is not told.

They refer to the never-ending eugenics movement-- which is definitely real. But again, what is the endgame there? It is not told.

The bottom line is I think the NWO is used in a couple of ways by these people. First-- as a lazy way of assigning blame for world events. Second-- as a cover-up for who is ultimately calling the shots and why they are doing it.

The Corbett Report

Hmmm, this guy is new to me; didn't realize he was another conspiracy dude.

This show is okay, but in the next post, I will show he is another NWO fraud like Alex Jones.

Apparently Judy Wood Has Published a Book

I am not going to bother to post a link, as it is easy to find and I think her "work" is pure disinfo. The main reason I am posting on it is there seems to be a resurgence in people pushing the DEW bullshit, and the Wood shills are out in force.

To wit:
To: Alan Miller

From: Eric Larsen

Subject: AN OPEN LETTER TO "PATRIOTS QUESTION 9/11.com"

Cc: Dr. Steven Jones, Dr. James Fetzer, Richard Gage, Kevin Ryan

PREFATORY NOTE TO ALAN MILLER:

I composed this letter almost a year ago but held off sending it in the hopes that, by waiting, I could send it on the occasion of the publication of Dr. Wood's book, Where Did the Towers Go? That occasion has now arrived at last. Dr. Wood's book has been published and is now available to readers the world around, making this the real moment of truth. The question now, for every person in any way associated with the 9/11 movement, is whether that person is in fact interested in exposing the truth or, on the other hand, in continuing to cover it up. The publication of Dr. Wood's book is a momentous event, an event of incalculable importance to the entire world. It is time, now, for me to send you this letter.

Eric Larsen

The email then goes on for several long gag-inducing paragraphs, describing in the most laudatory terms describing how wonderful and courageous Wood has been.

I hope no one new is falling for this.

What really happened to the towers can be read about here.

UPDATE: A Simple, Informative Time-line of Judy Wood--

December 2005-- Judy Wood told me she thought the WTC demolition looked like a nuclear explosion, and was pursuing the idea that the WTC was nuked.

March 2006-- Wood had a conflict with Steven Jones over the color of molten aluminum; Wood's student Michael Zebuhr shot and killed under bizarre circumstances; Wood told me Jones gave a veiled threat to her after this.

September 2006-- Wood tells me about her beam weapon theory for destruction of the WTC, for the first time.

Other weird things about Wood:
1) she interned at NASA as a college student
2) after an accident, she was in a coma for a very long time-- hard to know exactly, at least several months. It is rare to have someone come out of a coma like that and be functional.
3) Wood got her graduate training at Va Tech, a school linked to intel agencies and the site of the infamous 2007 gun massacre. Wood told me one of her professors was actually killed during the attacks, a building where she had trained was a major site of the carnage, and she felt as if the killings were a message to her.

Empire of Stupidity and Bigotry

This is sickening:

What the FUCK is the matter with these people?

And I'm sure they think they are good Christians too.

Deep Thought of the Day

The PTB do not feel threatened by conspiracy theorists, however correct or well-intentioned the conspiracy theorist may be.

However, the PTB *are* threatened by anti-war activists.

The Return of 33

Hadn't seen many 33's in the news for a while, but recently some popped up.

In an article on how gas well drilling is contaminating ground water with radioactivity, a key 33: "Drilling companies were issued roughly 3,300 Marcellus gas-well permits in Pennsylvania last year, up from just 117 in 2007."

In an article on lack of public unions in Indiana, an interesting 33: "But Rick Badger, executive director of a union representing 33,000 city and county workers in Wisconsin, said that civil service protections were far weaker and narrower than union protections."

These two articles are funny-- they HAD to have Chinese and 33 together, even if the numbers were different.

"3,300 more Chinese evacuated from Libya arrive in Greece"

"China begins evacuation of 33,000 from Libya"

Deep Thought of the Day

The US Constitution never mentions companies or corporations. It mentions unions seven times.
