33 of the Day
Found: The viral infection that makes nearly HALF of us more stupid (and it lasts for YEARS)
The virus - called chlorovirus ATCV-1 - was only known to appear in algae
Researchers in U.S. have not established how it comes to infect humans
It hasn't infected just swimmers, which rules out direct link to algae itself
Instead humans could've been carrying virus but was not known to doctors
Research suggests it alters genes in brain including memory and emotion
Scientists found 44 per cent of patients tested had virus in their throats
So going to the actual paper-- first line of the results section:
Metagenomic sequencing was performed on DNA extracted from oropharyngeal samples obtained from 33 adult individuals without a known psychiatric disorder or physical illness.

"Mission managers say that Philae's first leisurely bounce – with a hang time of just under two hours – reached nearly 3,300 feet above the nucleus before it returned to the surface. The second and final bounce lasted just over seven minutes."
Sure, I believe they measured that precisely, and it was "nearly 3,300 feet."

As to the original 33 story-- I do think 33 is a weird number of people to have enrolled in a research study. 44% is just the random outcome of their findings, but 33 was specifically selected as the number for their study.
At one time you said that 4, or maybe it was 44, is a code number used by the evil PTB to freak out the public...or at least ap.
I don't remember that about 4 or 44.
I do know AP hypothesized that 34 was a special # relating to certain aspects of ET quarantine.
